I have seen the Snapdragon 625 processor in Moto Z play also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, the Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging, Full HD screens, up to 24MP cameras and 4K video recording.
Is it possible to replace the currently installed 16MP camera is based on Omni Vision's OV16860 PureCel Plus-S sensor with 19MP Sony's IMX400 Super Slomotion Sensor ?
I don't think anyone here deals with hardware but I could be wrong.
Damn if we can swap cameras on the MZP I'd probably never upgrade it until the MZP breaks.

Me too... I want the same phone to be upgraded by replacing the components except the Super AMOLED Display, Snapdragon 625 Processor and the Long lasting 3510 MAh battery.

Amen! I mean the Moto X4 is out... but I'm going to wait for the oneplus 5T. As much as I like my MZP the camera is just... bleh.
The default camera is ok.
I used the Hasselblad Moto Mod Camera to zoom about 3.5 x optical and have configured with the professional mode to adapt the suroundings. The result is quite satisfactory and not bad at all.

I saw reviews saying the phone camera takes better stills than the Hasselblad camera mod and that the pics are soft from the moto mod....what is your experience?

The Xperia Z1 will ship with a 2.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8974 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, up to 16GB of internal memory, and a micro SD card slot. On the back, this phone rocks a 20.7MP camera with 8x digital zoom. A 2MP camera sits on the front. The phone comes with Android 4.2.2 and pushes pixels to a 5-inch 1080p screen. All of this is powered by a 3000mAh battery. Oh, and the phone's waterproof. It will be available in black, white, and purple.

Good Lord, I CAN NOT WAIT for tomorrow!
That's gonna be one hell of a phone.
8x zoom ? xperia s has 16x zoom i was happy this will be the first phone with 4k recording but ACER got it before the release of this beast
Great phone. I've seen something about Xperia Z1 mini. As rumored here it should be smaller and with only 720p display and also with smaller battery capacity... But it would be great to have smaller version of Z1 (if it would also contain the alluminium frame I really like that)

Digital zoom, it doesn't matter if it's 2x or 10x, digital zoom is crap. Besides, 8x on 20 MP is better than 16x on 12 MP.
That said, this looks like a very awesome phone, a little on the expensive side, though.

yeah, fully agree with you.just sad that this phone doesnt have 4k recording expected.i hoped SONY was the first to do that.it is not necessary and space consuming but i would like new features to start by only SONY.its looks awesome but design could have been lil better, and i want to see some results from that camera.hope it has better low light capability :good: no problem with its zoom,it has loseless 3x zoom, without loss of quality.i love my xperia s
Hi Guys,
I have a Moto X Pure/Style EU version.
I see many of you have ditched this device for OP3
The only reasons I have not switched to OP3 yet is because MXP has a quad-hd screen and dual speakers.
Can someone please compare the speaker quality and sound from headphones (also bluetooth headphones, if possible) with that of OP3?
How is the camera compared to that of MXP? MXP has a 21MP camera and OP3 has only 16MP. I read somewhere that OP2's camera was better than OP3s.
MXP's front camera has a wide angle lens and takes very descent selfies, not sure how the 8MP OP3's camera fares against MXP's

mxp is better in speaker quality ..i had both...cameras are comparable...display is better on mxp but op3 rocks in performance.,.it is almost twice as fast and is beast...but advantage of mxp is you get timely updates from moto...may be n is already around the corner when n is released...so if you are thinking for sound quality and speakers keep moto(this does not mean op3 had bad speakers or sound...but mxp has better...)
I have both and will be selling my MXP in the coming days.
Headphone sound is much better on the OP and speaker quality is the same if not better on the OP but you have to cup your hand.
The cameras are similar but the sensors and/or software make photos on the OP better.
The only differences I can notice in the screens is that blacks are more true on the OP and it's slightly easier to see in sunlight.
The only feature that the MXP takes hands down is expandable storage.
Having both phones I think the external speakers on the MXP sounds better but the OP3 sounds better on my headphones.
My OnePlus one performed better than mxp. Speaker and external SD will be missed. Never had speaker all the way up anyways. Changed display to 1080 as well. Not sure what's the big deal with qHD? Other than Sucking battery, didn't do anything for me. One+3 blows motoXP out of the water. Still might be too early to tell, but initial review for me says one+3 all the way.

Wow. You guys are tempting me to sell my MXP and buy OP3
Camera and multimedia experience is very important to me.
It seems from your reviews that camera and sound from headphones are better in OP3. Even battery life seems to be better. I wish Oneplus releases an OP3 Pro with sdcard, front facing speakers, a sound DAC, finger print reader on the side making the size smaller, ans IR blaster, and 4000+ MAh battery to support a qHD display. Well! That's a dream.
I was the Moto x pure as well and switched as soon as this thing came out. So far, the 1080p is no different as far as quality compared to the Moto x. Speaker quality is the same but mono. Camera is much better in my opinion. Over performance, stock v stock, the OP3 wins IMO. The OP3 is my ideal phone in all honesty. It has everything I want and is amazing to look at.
The OP3 is an upgrade in almost every way from the Moto X. My only real complaint is that both phones are almost exactly the same size (height and width, not depth) but the Moto X manages to get dual front-facing speakers and a 5.7" screen. Another difference most will point out is the resolution, but honestly if I was building my perfect phone I would choose a 1080p display. Holding the Moto X and OP3 next to each other I honestly can't tell the difference, and I'll take the better battery life and performance a 1080p screen provides over the negligible bump in clarity from a quad hd.
In every other category the OP3 is a direct upgrade. Faster, more efficient processor, lightning-fast fingerprint reader, better battery life, and very fast charging. And I'm psyched to see how much developer support the device has already.
Edit: Woohoo, one hundred posts! ^^
How is this even a comparison? A phone that is 6month old+ vs one that came out a week ago.
MXP has a nice screens, speaker and micro-SD that's about it. It was good phone but not even better than OP2.
The MXP 5.7" screen is cut off by the soft keys, I can't stand all these big phones that uses soft keys and eats away the screen. It is technically 5.5" without the row of soft keys.
If one cannot afford the OP3, get the OP2 over the MXP.
The 21Meg camera is ok, it's very washed out in day light and night shots are no good.
Moto x pure... are you kidding me. Speaker and sd slot. That's it. Period. Feel on hand is night and day. I will say, without case, motoXP has much better curve feel when holding, but specs should tell you to stay away from motoXP. Screen is nice, but again might want to change the DPI to save battery. I had to take out moto apps, dtw, and anything else to ensure battery doesn't drain on moto. But OnePlus, I just leave it. Maybe dark mode. That's it. IMHO, two phones provide different user experience fosho.

Dont forget moto x pure has been out for awhile and gotten No development compare to op3. Battery life super sucks even with custom Roms n kernel. Pure was alright to me until op3 came out. If your Ok with little heater and recharging more often, go with pure. I'm pretty certain everyone else who came from pure to op3 feels the same.

This phone's camera is trash, especially in night time. Not that I believe more mega pixels = better quality; but I was under the impression that the larger sensor behind 108 MP should collects more light and give better night time photos. The sensor is probably fine, but Moto's image processing is crap.
I tried a Google Camera version meant for Moto G 5G with 48 MP primary camera. The results are still bad.
Is there any specific GCam version for this phone right now?
I was planning to buy it for the 108MP camera and My UX, should I consider getting the Realme 8 pro or a different device instead? Not going for the redmi because of their embarrassingly bad MIUI.
I bought this phone for the UI which is closer to AOSP. So far the performance and UI are pretty good and refreshing to use after using MIUI for years. Battery is pretty good as well.
I still hope a proper Google Camera version optimized for this phone would improve the image quality by a huge margin as it's the same sensor used in Redmi Note 10 Pro (Max).
I have never used Realme phones, so can't recommend one. I'm sick of Redmi phones as well because of their crappy MIUI and tried a Moto phone for the first time.
Thank you for your reply! I would be very grateful if you could answer a few more of my questions about this device:
What would you consider some pros and cons of buying this as of now?
Does the 120hz screen make a significant difference?
Have you noticed any differences in normal video quality and HDR10?
If you've used an AMOLED display phone before, have you noticed any significant difference between both?
Thank you in advance!
I had some luck using the Gcam "GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1_Wichaya_V3.1.1". I don't know if we're able to post links here, but just google that and you'll be able to find. I'm trying to build a config file for G60, but i have no previous experience so i'm having a hard time.

I recently bought it, you won't notice significant difference in 60 and 120 hz refresh rates but touch input rate makes pointer to follow quick.
Display is good you'll mostly notice diffrence between amoled and lcd at night.
I'm very attracted towards stock android no lags no glitches no mi or samsung or Microsoft's crappy apps I'm very happy with the phone. It's a chonky boy

The refresh rate does make a difference. Once you use this and go back to 60 hz it can hard to bear. It was for me. But most midrange phones these days have atleast 90hz which is fine
I have a G30(11k) and G40 fusion(14k)
G40 fusion is miles ahead in performance, stability, and features
When it comes to refresh rate, the difference between 120hz and 90hz is noticeable, at least to my eyes
If i buy a diferent sensor can i replace it and will it funcion normaly? Or would need some custom firmware?
Buying a different camera sensor will not work. First of all the contacts to attach it to the daughter board will be different. Secondly it probably won't fit in the cameras space and so would rattle. Thirdly the firmware wouldn't understand the output of the sensor. Sorry
if only android worked as proper os with modular drivers or should i say it's Qualcomm fault.... as far as my testing i think sensors on poco f3 are not bad at all it's the software that counts these days, if you can tweak gcam you can get good results in color reproduction and dynamic range and video quality as well, keep in mind that all phone camera systems have limitations and the best bet is getting a cheap used compact camera like lumix lx10 or sony rx100 or canon g7x.

Someone tried a IMX686 (or IMX 682) from a K40 Pro in the standard K40(actually vice versa but the point still stands) and it will not work. If you can read chinese then watch this video. Basically the camera module can fit in the connector and can fit in the frame but it will not work both in standard and 48MP mode as the driver is missing.

Nah the sensor is objectively awful, especially in low light conditions. My 3 year old MI 8 has a better sensor.

For me the sensor is like lightyears ahead of my old phone, that thing can't even take a low light photo without blur in 80% of scenarios. Probably because my standards are set so low that this sensor is amazing to me.

imx363 is a very good sensor even if it's lacking pixel banding but what make the difference is the lenses, tbh they used a higher quality one in mi8 compared to f3, also the lack of ois on f3 affects low light quality
Hello,
I just baught a moto G60 because of the 120Hz screen and 108MP camera. Screen is great but when you use the " Ultra res 108MP " it takes about 2-3 seconds to take 1 picture and outside it takes about 5-6 seconds. I installed google camera APK and when I take a photo it says the sensor resolution is 12MP. Does motorola fake the 108MP ?
Many cameras have high res sensors, but process the images as 12mp or 16mp. the high res sensor does have a few advantages, but its mostly just for marketing.

Makes sense. I will probably buy a samsung A73 when it releases.
seems like a good option, its an upgrade in every aspect other than screen refresh rate (120 vs 90), 90 is still great though
