Hello,
I wanted to know what is the highest resolution supported in Youtube app on this device, on stock ROM.
For example, on my device(SM-P601) I'm using Lineage OS 14.1 and my maximum is 1080p60. I think I was able to select 1440p60 on stock ROM but I'm not sure, so needed to confirm.
Can you please post what is the highest resolution you can select in Youtube app (if you're using stock ROM) ?
And also your device name(like SM-P601).
Thanks.
EDIT - Nevermind, I got the answer.
SM-P601 only supports upto 1440p30 videos on Youtube app(I'm not sure about Snapdragon ones). As Youtube doesn't provide separate 30fps option for 60fps videos 720p and above, this means:
* Highest resolution available for 60fps 2K/4K videos is 1080p60
* Highest resolution available for 30fps 2K/4K videos is 1440p (2K, works as intended)

Hi, I downloaded and installed the bambuser app for streaming and found the lowest available video resolution is 640x384, which is too big for streaming over 3G.
I'm running the latest official ROM, and of course, using the default camera application, I can shoot video in resolutions as low as 176x144.
Any tips? Thanks in advance
I'm not allowed to watch 60fps videos to 720p or 1080p, the setting is limited up to 480p.
The other videos that aren't 60fps I can watch them at hd even at 1440p if it's supported.
The case is that before the youtube app support for 60 fps I could watch them normally HD., now I'm limited to 480p
Any ideas? I have done all the updates.
sorry for my English, hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
Try clearing app cache, you can also try updating to latest YouTube app from apk mirror
So we've seen a couple of improvements to the camera since release, most notably with Portrait Mode recently. This is great, but where is the 60fps video? The phone must surely be capable of 1080p60 if it can do 4k at 30fps?
Neither the Razer camera app nor the modded Google Camera app I'm using allow me to select a different frame rate; does anyone know of an alternative app that can shoot higher FPS? I'd shoot 1080p60 all the time over 4k 30fps.

I'll subscribe to this thread, wondering the same thing. I have a feeling it would have to be updated by razer In firmware or some skilled coders here first. Seeing as we have treble, android P maybe? Should get released pretty quick for us!
I use snapdragoon camera that allow you to enable 60fps and 120 FPS video at 1080p

Nice! thank you for that suggestion. HSR mode doesn't work for me but I only wanted HFR so I'm ok
The hardware doesn't support 4K @ 60 FPS
where do i get the Snap Drag camera?
I cant get Netflix app to play videos with higher resolution than 720p and 30 FPS. The S9 has hardware capability to show 1440p and 60FPS, but Netflix seems to limit this to low resolution.
Any fix for this?
I have tried it on out superfast Wi-Fi and superfast LTE, no difference.
You can check this with Netflix own "Test Pattern" videos. Actual FPS and Resolution is shown in upper right corner when you zoom out to original video size.

No root. Actually have the same problem on my Tab S4.
But we get full 4K and 60 FPS on our Samsung TV built in app, and also our Nvidia Shield TV.

I believe resolution is limited by your Netflix subscription, if you only paid for 720p then that's the max res you can watch with

App limitation apparently, this one might get you 1080p
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netflix-inc/netflix/netflix-5-3-1-build-19296-release/
all versions up to 5.3.1 operate at 1080p and a bitrate of 5800kbps which is the highest quality possible on smartphones.

I tested this method today, it works! So it is indeed app limitation NOT subscription. Tested it on my s9 and girfriends s9+, both worked. However, getting to 720p resolution on the newer versions is much faster than getting to 720p or 1080p on this older version. So maybe locking to 720p is the effect of some network and streaming optimizations.
Had to go older to get mine working

I tried 5.3.1 but it immediately prompted me to update to continue. So I used 4.12.2 and my content was watchable again. I’m on an S9 with Pie.
Netflix 4.12.2 from ApkMirror
Hi, as you guys should know, the S5 Mini stock can play video at 720p 60fps and 1080p 30fps with no problem, now at 1080p 60fps it struggles a lot, seems like the hardware cant handle it
I dont want to lose my time making a backup data and flashing a custom rom just for testing
So if someone has an overclocked kernel already installed please tell me if you're able to play video at 1080p 60fps smoothly, thanks.
Why would you want that? Screen is 720p. And what kind of playback do you mean? Youtube or mp4?
Kernels cant double the performance or so, dont expect roms to run faster than stock...
