I'm trying to find an app or a way to browse the music that is stored on my phone and then stream it to my htpc (Windows 7) and then play it on my surround.
I have figure out how to browse the music the htpc has on the phone with xbmc remote and gmote but that's not what i want. Bluetooth or Wifi should both be fine.
Also if i would like to stream pictures and videos too, it would be a bonus but not really important right now.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
You should be able to pair your phone with the htpc via Bluetooth at which point it should be available as an audio input device. This shouldn't require any third party drivers or anything, have you tried this yet?

Most people do it the other way around, I'm sure it requires third party software

hmmm ok, this is not what i'm looking for.
So here is the lay out:
1. Music on the phone
2. Phone connects to PC, preferably with WiFi but i will take BT if need be
3. PC is connected to Sound System
4. Phone streams music on the pc, sound comes out on the sound system connected on the PC
5. Selection of songs happens on the phone, next, forward, pause etc
6. Monitor on the pc is off the whole time
I also have a PS3 ... so instead of PC it could be that.
That's what's going on with my set up, all it does is play everything your phone speaker would through your computer speakers... right?

My way, it automatically connects to my phone without asking.
I play whatever music I want on my phone and my computer plays the sound
You can try and find third part software but for WiFi they only function as remotes

Yes, that's correct. And you can select tracks on your phone? If that's the case then you saved the day!
I'm having issues with pairing my phone at this point, it says paired but not connected.
Try skifta. its free and steamship through WiFi.

Can you have more then 1 bluetooth
connection?
Say like a G watch and then bluetooth streaming in your car. Or does one disconnect?

yes you can have 2 but i have to have one for phone and one set to media
You can. I've had 3 at one time paired. My car for calls, a bluetooth adapter in the car for audio (media), and my G Watch.

Good to know. Thanks! I'm assuming you can't have 2 devices connected under media or 2 under phone. Tho I'm not sure why you'd want to. When you had 3 connected everything worked as it should?

Everything worked fine. Spotify streaming with control from G watch as well as notifications. Streaming audio does get interrupted during phone call for obvious reasons.

Hi. Have a JY mtcb head unit with Maylaysk rom and 4.4.4 android. Find it tricky to shift between the 2 phones i have conected in the bluetooth app on my head unit. First i have to mark the active phone and then deselect it. Then i can mark the next phone in the list and connest it. Is there a easy way to do this with just a short cut or a another app that will do it more easy?
I do not know a shortcut but maybe I can do even better
Buy an android compatible Bluetooth dongle and pair both (cost me $4 incl shipping from China), I did that with my OBD device and phone but see know issue why 2 phones shouldn`t work as well.
The only thing that could be a (small) problem is which it would dial a number with.
Just a suggestion of course

What functions would you be using in Tasker?
I was just thinking that Tasker could possibly be used to automate bluetooth switching. I'm not sure HOW to set it up though.
I use the app Trigger. I use it to turn on my phone's Hotspot when it connects to my headunits Bluetooth connection and when it disconnects it turns off the Hotspot and turn on my wifi. It is very easy to use compared to Tasker. Tasker is good as it has a lot of functions but I don't quite know how to use it yet.

I was using Tasker for a few of these things, but actually the Smart Connect on my phone does all these things well.
I think what this thread is about though, which I would like to know two is that if you have two phones connected to the head unit, it connects to one, but even though the other is stored as a bluetooth connection it will only autoconnect to the last connected phone. This means you have to manually hit the connect on the head unit for it to work if you weren't the last one in the car!
It would be better if you could tell the head unit to have a "preference" to connect to phone A over phone B, but if phone A isn't present, then connect to phone B.
Well the headunit is very limited, but if you are very knowledgeable in Tasker you set something like that up on the headunit. I think trigger can let it do the same thing by using restrictions,

Usually only one device can be connected "fully" at the same time or they conflict. You can try limiting the connection "types" by going into the individual BT settings for each device and selectively choosing which BT connection types you are looking for in each device. You can limit how the watch connects to your phone, and you also can specify how your car will connect to the phone. As long as these connection types don't overlap it should work. This method works well for me using a cheap BT music receiver in my car.
There is also an app I've used quite a bit called Bluetooth Autoconnect. Among other things It allows you to set a BT priority by device, so if you set the car as first priority it will kick the watch's connection. Unfortunately the app hasn't been updated in the last year but it seems to still work just fine on Pie. Best of luck. :good:
I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. I have a Nissan Nv200 for work and it connects to the phone but sporadically drops or disconnects from bluetooth. It also happens with my beats wireless earbuds. I've tried to delete cache from bluetooth and delete and reconnect each component but I had no luck.
Starting to hate this phone more than like it

I may not have the answer that you want to hear but I did find a temporary solution. There's an app in the play store nRF Connect that works. Slide over to bonded, put devices in pairing mode and hit scan and wah lah. Any questions I'll do the best I can to help.
