thanks. i hope 3 questions isn't too much for 1 post
I don't know about hdmi or miracast but it does have a notification led. It is stated on Google store page for pixel under specifications.

Thank you. One down two to go
Benson said it uses USB 3.1 Gen 1 Host and Client. 5gbps.
Benson Leung said the phone uses USB 3.1 Gen 1 Host and Client. 5gbps. So I think it will work well with your USB C HDMI adapter. I'll test my HDMI adapter when I get my pixel xl.
As above, USB 3.1 -> HDMI adapter. Here is one sold by google, though any will work: https://store.google.com/product/usb_type_c_to_hdmi_adapter

I called Project Fi Support and the customer service rep did not know, but he was curious as well. When you receive your pixel xl please update us. Thanks!
USB Type-C guru Benson Leung has informed us that the Pixel phones don't work with the adapter because they lack VESA DisplayPort Alternate Mode that is on the Pixel C and Chromebook Pixel, which means that they aren't compatible with any adapters of this sort.

I heard you can't use USB to HDMI, not tried it as I don't have a cable, but would make sense since they likely want to sell a few more Chromecast.
That sucks. I wonder if V20 does. I need hdmi compatibility.
I'm curious if this will work with a displayport based or mhl based usb c- hdmi adapter
I read that the V20 is hdmi compatible so I am leaning toward the v20 at this point

The Pixel's do not support Miracast since they would have to pay royalties to include it. They do support Chromecast which you can get a dongle for $35. Which will allow screen mirroring on to a tv.

We can't use HDMI output in google pixel phone.
I tried it but it wasn't working well. U.U
Has anyone found a solution to this problem. I want to be able to mirror content from my Google pixel xl to my Sienna rear entertainment system and I was hoping that usb-c to hdmi would work. I bought the cable and then learned that it's not supported. I'm not too happy about this.....any solutions?

You won't like it but... LG V20
I've been investigating all routes to achieve this with my pixel, wish I'd gone for a S7 or LG V20 now as the lack of alternatives to Chromecast are none. The reason being I'm using this in my car with Appradio Unchained and needing an internet signal is a right pain. Not to mention the CC not being picked up randomly by it in cast devices. My nexus 5 was perfect for this as it supported slimport.
I have found something of an alternative however it doesn't quite work unfortunately. There are two modes to mirror, USB debugging and USB Tethering. With debugging I get audio but no video. With Tethering I get video but no audio. Which is making think about buying one of these audio embedders. It would mean having to connect the headphone jack as well but hey it would in theory work and at least the audio would quality would be excellent...

No HDMI to USB-C because no VESA DisplayPort Alternate Mode, right?

I assume like the original pixel, it does not have VESA DisplayPort Alternate Mode, so there are no wired options for getting video out of a pixel 2?
oddly enuff I found an adapter here, though I do not think it will work with the pixel 2's

None of the Pixels can do video output via its USB C port.

USB-C to USB-A Cables - Technical Differences aside from 56k OHM Resistor?

If any mods feel this shouldn't be a separate thread, please move it to the "Android Auto issues" thread.
Would anyone be able to provide technical expertise regarding USB-A to USB-C cables, aside from the 56k OHM resistor, Possibly latency differences of some sort? The Tronsmart is on Bensen's approved list
Right now I am using these Tronsmart Cables: USB C Cable, Tronsmart USB-C to USB-A Cable with 56k Resistor (3.3 Feet, 1 x Black,1 x White) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018S347O0
With the recent influx of Android Auto issues on the newer phones, I'm wondering if there's any technical differences between this cable, and for example: Anker Powerline+ USB C to USB 3.0 Cable (3ft) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M3NB6FB
I have absolutely no issues with my Nexus 6P, and I'd hate to spend $12 to find out the cable is not the issue, just because I have so many USB-C to USB-A Cables.
Using the original USB-A to USB-C cable that came with the Nexus 6P results in non stop crashing of Android Auto for me on my Pixel 2XL. Using the original USB-A to USB-C cable that came with the Pixel XL allows me to use Android Auto with my Pixel 2XL without any more issues than I had on the Pixel XL.

This is very interesting. I'm not home now and don't recall, does the Pixel 2 XL even come with a USB-A to USB-C cable, or just an adapter from USB A to C?
I never had an original Pixel, so I don't have the original Pixel cable. I also wonder what the equivalent cable would be to buy.

The pixel 2xl only comes with a usb-c to usb-c. You would think anything from Google would work but seeing as their own cable from the 6P is causing mine to crash that's obviously not the case.
There is an adapter that comes with the pixel 2 xl with A and C ports.

True...but it's the female side to use an old USB cable to plug into the Pixel 2XL for data transfer when setting up. It's not the male side that would plug into a head unit for Android Auto so I didn't mention it.

Does the USB-C port support Video Out?

Bummer, wish it did....

Where is the best adapter for pixel 2?

Hi All,
I have a Google Pixel 2, and when I am listening music, it CAN NOT Charge!
Can you guys recommend a slitter that you have used that you like to me?
First, welcome to the forums. Second, there's already a long thread with recommendations:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/accessories/listening-to-headphones-charging-t3687464
Third, have you considered cheap Bluetooth headphones? Or even just take a break from listening and top off your phone by charging for 30-60 minutes? You'll get to 60-80% battery I'm that amount of time. Just saying.

Thank your for your recomment
I already have bluetooth headphone, but i do not really like it.
So my friend suggested me buy a slitter that dual usb c, and he said usb c headphone sound great than 3.5mm jack earphone. I do not know that....so i really need some help.
Oh dual USB C is what you're asking for. The thread I linked for was to split to USB C and 3.5mm. Well USB C headphones are rare and really don't provide any improvements over 3.5mm headphones.

Oh, really? thank you for your suggestion.
And I look around on Amazon, I found someone is selling this adapter support dual usb c .
Em..Why I can not post the link on that?
Because you're too new to the forums. It's too prevent spam accounts. I think you can post links when you hit 10 posts.
Question for you is what USB C headphones are you even considering? All the best ones are either 3.5mm or Bluetooth.

Look at my first post you need both things it's a USB hub with USB c in for charging and 3 USB 3.0a you then turn one of the 3.0a in to a USB c and plug the USB c audio dongle in that came with the phone.
Also lol you don't want a slitter for your pixel 2 lol maybe for your inability to peace together information
