app scaling issue in Pokemon go - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

Does anyone else have any weird display issue when using Pokemon go? It's almost like the app doesn't scale properly during the loading screen. Thoughts? Is there a solution?

Yeah it's a common issue for us on the XL. Give it time and hopefully they will patch it or we will get a fix for it.

Have there been any updates to address the multitouch issues?

Drives me up the wall. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not.

Aha. Well well.
Care to elaborate?
The multitouch issue were "multitouch" becomes wonky (for lack of a better word), after periods of use. Best example: playing a game that uses multitouch. The only workaround right now is to turn the screen off and turn it back on. The software resets when screen is toggled on/off. THIS IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM.
I believe it's still an issue. I still have the problem on 4.0.3.
Multi-touch problems? Not on my phone. First i've heard of it.

You probably just didn't notice it. I didn't know about it until i read about it. Then i tested for it. Lo and Behold i had the same issue. It's probably a non issue to some people. This happens on any version of the GalNex
You will not see it until you play a game then test for it.
I have the multi touch in the bottom corners. It's an on/off and turning screen off temporarily relieves. It hasn't been a big problem, because I don't game often but just wondering if anything is on the table yet. I know it is software so it is easily fixed. Has anybody come up with a patch for it?

Is there something in the OS that can invoke this bug to occur? I have a stock unrooted and locked bootloader GSM GN and when I had 4.0.1, I never had any of these multitouch problems on any game that I played. Now with 4.0.2, this problem keeps appearing. It's really annoying
I just tried to do same as the guy in the video.. Everything is fine at my phone...
Playing ShadowGun and Riptide GP on mine produce this issue, and turning the screen on and off works for a few seconds, then it happens again.
Waiting on a fix here too.

You guys should go here --> http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23044 and star this as well as leave a comment. Hopefully this will help get the ball rolling. It's happening across every model of gnex. I think that it's almost impossible that google doesn't know about this yet but whatev, can't hurt.

[Q] Screen tearing during landscape scrolling

Had my Nexus 7 for a few days now. When in landscape mode I've had the screen tear(for lack of a better word) during scrolling. The left third of the screen will scroll at a different rate then the other two thirds. It always catches up and lines up perfectly. A reboot will fix the problem but it has always come back after a day or so.
My unit is 16gb running whatever the latest is from google.
Is this a known issue or do I need to be returning the unit and getting a replacement?
I just got my Nexus 7 two weeks ago and I have the same issue. It's annoying. Is it a software issue or hardware? Any fix? This version has been out almost a year now.
Same issue. It is like 1/8th of the screen moves at a different rate then the rest of the screen. Results in wavy screen distortion in a vertical line.
Try going to developer settings (if you dont see it, go to about device and tap the build number till it says youre a developer) and check force gpu rendering for 2d animations. This will take some of the load off the cpu and maybe help with the screen tearing.
Done before i think

I did this before i think and all it did was move the tear to the left of the screen a bit more making less noticeable.
It's not a hardware issue.
Ever since the Lollipop update 5.0.1, my tablet feels quite laggy too. The only solution i found so far was to restart it from time to time. I'll be flashing the 5.0.2 update soon. We'll see how that'll go.
Edit: I just tried to sideload the 5.0.2 update and it seems it has a new bootloader or something because I got the "Footer is wrong - Signature verification failed" error. Yeah my tablet still on locked bootloader. Too much effort to backup my data. I guess I'l have to wait for OTA.
I just got my second nexus 7 2013 and have the same issue. Never noticed it on my first one but then again i only had 4.4.4 on it. I'm worried this could be a hardware issue. I reboot solves it for a few days and then it returns. Can anyone confirm if this is hardware related, if not is there a fix? Thanks

youtube app freezing issue while exit?

So i havent unlocked my bootloader yet.
And havent had any hardware or phone issues but with the youtube app when i tend to close it down the screen simply freezes and it takes a while to get back normal or a quick reboot helps.. Its actually everytime and doesnt happen elsewhere.. Not even in games.
Anybody facing the same problem or is it just me? I suspect cz of the new aspect ratio youtube is having problems properly rendering with the new screen though..
Let me know anyone with the same issue..
Edit : Problem solved turns out after getting youtube updated and then clearing cache it works normally now.

Stuck in Landscape mode after leaving YouTube

I'm having an issue (small issue) where after I get done watching a video on YouTube my phone gets stuck in landscape mode. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or is it just me?
If I reset my phone it works fine for a while but then eventually the problem happens again.

What happens when you toggle portrait mode? Are you using live wallpaper? ?
It corrects itself when I manually toggle portrait mode but it's annoying to have to do that every time when it's supposed to do it on it's on. It's a small annoyance and not that big of a deal honestly. I was just curious if anyone else was having that issue.
I am not using a live wallpaper I'm just using a regular one.

Gotchya. Well, I'd start by cleaning out cache and data from the YouTube app, and remove any YouTube themes for starters. If that doesn't work, then it may be a sensor issue.

Lag when Switching apps

Hello,
I'm having an issue with my Snapdragon N10+ when I press the recents button, and swipe through to another app, when I select it, it has about a 3 second delay before the app will switch. After this happens once, it won't happen for a while.
To see the issue:

Does anyone else experience this? Does anyone know why this might be happening?
Same is happening to me, after the update to android 10, I dont know why, but sometimes it does and some others doesnt.
Same here! In my case, there are sometimes when It won't even open the app or when it opens, it restart the app (doesn't keep it where I left it) It never happened in android 9. I am using NOVA launcher, I send them an Email and they basically says, it is relate to android 10 navigation bar issues and there is nothing they can do, that we can only wait for Google to release an update, I tested myself and if you are using The default launcher it doesn't happens.
Glad to know this isn't isolated to myself. This is about the only thing that drives me crazy on the note. Everything else is very fast.
If anyone else knows why this is happening, speak up please!!
any fix?

As @noah1988 said, is a problem with the launcher compatibility. You need to use the default launcher or Google launcher. I tested myself too and that's the problem. I have Nova Prime and only happens with it.
