After seeing that pixel 2 launcher changes color theme according to the wallpapers color i was wondering what if i install the pixel 2 launcher to my pixel XL, after all this future was implemented to android oreo and why not working for original pixels too? but after i tried i realized it didnt work. is there any way to enable this future?
You can try the Android 8.1 Oreo Developer Preview.
Added WallpaperColors API
Android 8.1 Developer Preview (API level 27) adds support for managing wallpaper colors. This feature lets you create a WallpaperColors object from a bitmap, a drawable, or by using the first three most visually representative colors. You can also retrieve details of the first three noticeable colors of a wallpaper.
Edit: I can confirm that it works with the preview.

Has anyone else noticed on their pixel or pixel xl that at night, their ui is in dark theme and then during the day is in light theme? I've noticed this on 2 pixel xl devices that at night, my folder, notifications and settings ui is all dark.
I can't find anything on this online though i know dark theme was possible with some tweaks before but this would have come directly with a pixel launcher update.
I'm running stock Android 8.1.0 with the latest security updates.

I finally got the same answer from someone at the Google helpdesk and realized what it was. I wish they would enable a toggle for the dark theme that followed the sunrise sunset adaptive brightness.
How can i get pixel blue theme, night light and round icons on the latest march update? Pixel mod is discontinued. The only way is lineageos?

You could give Pixel 2 ROM a try. I don't have any experience with it, but it looks up to date now.

Hi there,
how about Andromeda and Substratum? (If you dont want custom roms)
[PC/MAC/LINUX] The official, full Andromeda thread for Substratum [Android 8.0.0+]
You can then install Pixel Theme from Playstore -
[Substratum] Pixel Theme
then just activate these settings Android System - Accent color - Blue
and
System UI for Pixel navbar (if you want).
I don't know about Night mode tho. You can either download some dark theme for Substratum. I can reccomend Swift Dark Substratum Theme +Oreo & Samsung theme (i'm not affiliated or something, I just tried many free dark themess and this one is excellent, even if you have to pay).
//sorry my english, guys
I am on the latest Android 10 October security patch and I have to change the accent color back to the one I like after each reboot. Is there a way to make this stick?
Yea, you can use this magisk module. It'll install ThemePicker (Pixel Themes) and the wallpapers from the pixel 3 and 4, you should be able to open wallpapers and go into pixel themes and set up a custom theme which will make the accents persist on reboot. (Don't scroll on the preview before setting a theme or it'll crash because it tries to preview clockfaces but they were removed)

Hi folks,
I'm a happy owner of a Xiaomi Note 11 phone and a very unhappy user of the latest Android 13 based LOS20, due to the impossible color scheme introduced in Android 12.
I'm basically using the dark theme and I have a really hard time reading the usual (system font) text, which is small and has a really bad contrast being by default grey-blueish. I found no (documented) way to change that system font color and LOS20 has a series of basic colors (one dumber than the other) in the Wallpaper & Style settings, none of which having a white default color.
I enabled high contrast in the Display settings, the system font got really white, but if it gets displayed over a non-black background, then a stupid halo like shadow is displayed around it making the reading again very difficult.
Here I found more complaints about Google's UI colors choice since Android 12:
In Android 12 can you manually change text color without using themes or changing wallpaper? - Google Pixel Community
I tried that Repainter App and it didn't even start on my LOS without Google Apps subsystem (that's why I run LOS in the first place).
Repainter v1.2.0 brings new Material You theme styles for unrooted Android 13 and OneUI 4.x devices

I'm wondering why the LOS devs didn't correct this UI design issue, since there are a lot of voices (plenty of links on goggle search) complaining about this poor UI/color design choice by Google since Android 12.
I'd be very happy if some of you more knowledgeable could point me to what file to edit/hack (phone is rooted) in order to set the system font on white.
Thanks in advance!
