Hi i hope someone can help i was wanting to try lineage 15 after being on Aex rom. I flashed lineage 15 with Gaaps 8.0 pico after which the when the phone booted into lineage asked for a password and i didnt understand why it was asking this so i booted back into twrp to restore my backup of Aex rom but i am getting an error failed to mount /data ( invalid argument) it seems my data partition has been completley wiped and i cant restore my backup either. Im stuck at this point how do i re create the data partition.
I have fixed it now

its not a real error, mmcblk0p2 is optional, its a second partition with linux format on the SDCard
Try wipe cache and data after the install. It not Flash T-Mobile 2.2.1 stock
I had the same problem, and it was solved by
flashing T-mobile 2.2.1 stock (link found in xda).
However a later thought (without proof) is that
you should wipe both cache and data AFTER the
installation of the new ROM and this might help.
Please update.

I'm assuming you are dirty flashing? Try backing up any data you need manually and clean flashing. Also check md5 just to be sure
reply
Hi by dirty do you mean running the phone and using it on a daily basis then going to recovery mode and then going update?
Md5 is good
I believe dirty flashing is where you don't wipe everything on the phone before a rom flash.
reply
Yeah its dirty updates so you recommend backing up data and doing a clean update also what's a fast way to backup apps and media

You could use titanium backup or similar. Clean flash is: from recovery, wipe system, data, cache, dalvik/art cache, then install rom and gapps etc.
Hello, I did install twrp, flashed RR rom, but evertime I start rom once, I cant mount /data and storage to install more apps, I would have to change Data partition to exFat and then to EXT4, but that wipes phone, I can flash zip, have to do all the settings again and then its unloadable again. Any ideas please? I have flashed RR, gapps and I want to falsh magisk now, but I simply cant because of this... Cant even do screenshot in twrp and then acces the image... ffs
Could you solve it? I think i'm having the same problem.

Yes, I did solve that, just flash another recovery, I am using https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...t/recovery-red-wolf-recovery-project-t3766997 now and it all works without a problem.
Hi!! I flashed twrp as soon as I got the device and as a redmi note 3 user I don't know anything about vendor so I wiped it and even flashed 3 OTA updates of RR will I face any problems in future?if yes are there any solution?
Ps- now the device is running fine no probs at all
**Thanks for tuning in this question is answered**
Yep. Now you can't mount data, vendor and probably can't flash any other roms.
Happens to my other devices.

False. Please don't spread misinformation.
RR overwrites the vendor partition anyway, so @sreek995 will have no problems. If you eventually want to flash GSIs just flash this first.
Oh, then I might used bad recoveries. Happens to my two of smartphones and a tablet.
Every time, I wiped the vendor, I can't re-mount it after rebooting the recovery, even after wipe it and installing a rom seems works fine, but rebooting to recovery, "can't mount vendor" error pops up. Now I always stay away from clicking vendor when wiping the device.

This is actually my first phone with a vendor partition, but that is weird. Bad TWRPs are probably doing something terribly wrong, that shouldn't happen. But you should still be able to flash the vendor partition.
Sorry if my message came out a bit too harsh.

I think after formating data ,you might mount it again.

Nope, it's gone and never mounted again. Even format, repair or change the storage type cannot re-mount the vendor.
The only way, I can get it to work is by flashing original recovery using computer and let it format it. After that, using computer flash twrp.
But I never unlocked bootloader in this device (note5), so I don't know about it's recovery. Xiaomi's can be very tricky or very easy. My wifes phone (Mi 5X) came with unoriginal rom, and I brick it when trying to install twrp, but by open the device and doing something inside of it, I manage to restore it to original and flash twrp.

Use PIT file for your model (don't use other or you'll brick the phone) in Odin.
Good luck.

you dont wipe vendor partition and reboot. If you wipe vendor, wipe system partition too reinstall the rom and everything runs fine. If you wipe vendor and dont flash rom, sure you'll get into trouble(Not that trouble actually, just cant boot into your rom).

Hi
I need help. After I updated my redmi note 5, on twrp, i couldnt wipe cache and dalvik, so I decided to restore a backup I did minutes ago of my previous ROM version.
I entered on twrp , went to restore menu and when it finished, I had the mobile bricked. I tried to wipe all to do a clean instalation but this message appears all the time and I dont Know how to solve
Failed to mount '/vendor' (Structure needs cleaning)
When I wrote vendor, it can be another nave, for example , system
How can i solve it?
Thx

hi
I was on lineage OS 15.1 the last version before the new one that said me today to install
I dont know why, but I could delete this message, and reflash lineageOS, gapps, addonsu, and lazyflasher, but when the phone restarts, it's loop in lineage os first screen, the ones that has the green circles
I don't know, maybe the restore of last backup messed up something, or maybe there's a bad TWRP installation...
I'm gonna try to install again TWRP
I could install again one more time lineageOS as I said, but after 20 minutes of bootloop it didnt starts
I think I can fix it because I can acceso to fastboot and twrp
nothing happens
still in bootloop LineageOS 1st screen
