It's been a while since I have updated my recovery and rom so I downloaded latest CWM and CM. I formatted all the options inlusing sdcard and system. That turned out to be a big mistake because now I can not push any files to the phone to flash a rom. I can get to CWM inlcuding the option to adb sideload but my computer does not have the fastboot or adb drivers installed. Is there a way for me to push a rom to the device to get back up and running? I have tried to install the fastboot drivers but the mahine is not recognizing the device.
***Update**
I ended up using the universal toolkit in linux so I wouldn;t have to set up the drivers and was able to get back to a stock image and work from there.
Hi everybody,
I was using the latest version of CWM (i think 6.0.4.7 Touch) and everything was OK. ADB in my PC recognized my Nexus and sideload worked too.
I've just tried the latest TWRP (2.8.4.0). Problem is, when I boot to recovery and connect phone with my PC, it won't recognize it.
A cannot see my phone in list of connected devices, when I type adb devices and adb sideload isn't working as well.
I upgraded to latest Samsung USB drivers (Android Composite ADB Interface version 11.0.0.0) and also the ADB in my PC (version 1.0.32).
Fastboot is working without any problems.
Does anybody know, how to make it work with TWRP?
Hi guys.
The phone is Xperia S.
I have installed CWM and wiped all partitions (except for sdcard) in order to prepare the phone for CM12.1 install.
Now I understand that my CWM version is outdated (5.5.0.4) and I need to install TWRP (which I had had installed before).
The problem is that when I plug in the phone, Windows registers it as MTP USB Device and I cannot uninstall/change drivers. adb devices lists no devices and I cannot do anything with the phone now.
Also, I have twrp.img on sdcard, but I'm not sure how to install it from CWM. When I was running TWRP before, adb was working fine.
So, I guess my problem can be fixed in two ways:
Install TWRP from CWM. I have twrp.img on sdcard, but CWM won't let me install it, I can't see it listed in file list.
Uninstall/change drivers for "MTP USB Device" so that adb works again.
Any help would be appreciated, as I cannot install anything on my phone now, and all I have is a CWM recovery on it.

The MTP is fine, You don't need to uninstall it. Try following the method from here to flash the ROM.

Thanks for the suggestion.
When I turn off the phone, press and hold UP button and then connect the phone to PC, the blue light lights up as it should. However, after ~10 seconds, blue light goes away and the phone goes to CWM recovery.
Therefore, I'm unable to execute adb commands during this short time period.
How to prevent CWM from starting up while in fastboot mode?

Then Your fastboot drivers are not installed.
Disconnect Your phone from PC.
Open command prompt and run this command:
Code:
SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
and then open device manager, Choose View, Show Hidden Devices. Then uninstall any device with Xperia S and/or android in it. Then install the flashtool, fastboot, and every Xperia S related drivers from drivers pack in flashtool. I see that You use Windows 8/8.1, hence You need to follow a different method to install drivers. You can find that method here. Then follow the method I mentioned before.

While waiting for your answer, I found the video detailing instructions to install drivers on Windows 8.1 x64:
Nonetheless, thank you for your answer, now I can continue to try to install CM12.1.
Dear All,
I have a big problem with my Nexus 7 2013 (II gen, mobile version).
I was just trying to format the device (never modding done on it) using the recovery mode, but something went wrong because the process aborted. Result of this is that the tablet is stacked on the google logo.
Now I tried several option, including the toolkit but it's get blocked on the Bootloader unblocking.
I had to install the ADB driver manually ((i am not sure are correctly installed) since the guide of the toolkit ask to use also the tablet menu which i cannot. The thing is that when the tablet is plugged to the pc ( WIN10 ), in the devices preference is not indicated as an ADB device but as a "Bootloader device".
From the tablet seems that the recovery mode doesn't exist anymore, only the bootloader is accesible.
Any ideas or guide to follow
Thank you very much
Urano

Hello, since only the bootloader (fastboot) mode is available then let's do some diagnostics and please post the output of the following commands:
boot the Nexus in fastboot mode (when off press power+vol.dn)
connect it to your PC
on PC run:
fastboot getvar all
fastboot oem gpt-info
fastboot format cache
You can run the fastboot app from Windows or Linux...
on Windows install NRT and run it from "C:\Program Files (x86)\WugFresh Development\Nexus Root Toolkit\data" folder
or run it without installation from live Linux
I can get my Zenfone 2 up to the fastboot screen, but no further.
Under PC device manager is shows "Android-Phone" as the device, but no drivers loaded.
I've tried a few different drivers, but even though they seem to install OK, "Android-Phone" (in device manager) still won't show as having a driver.
Some threads say I have to enable Android Debugging, but how to do that when the ONLY screen I can get on the phone is fastboot??
Help???
Boowho??
You can try this.
1. Uninstall all drivers for phone you installed on PC, then reboot.
2. Disable antivirus on PC then install standard Intel android device usb drivers. You can download them from Asus website. Then reboot again.
3. Connect phone to PC in fastboot mode.
4. In the device manager you should see "Asus android device" under which "Asus android bootloader interface".
5. Check connectivity in minimal adb & fastboot software (you can get it from XDA) by command "fastboot devices" without quotes. It should answer "some number<space>fastboot".
If all is ok then you can flash raw stock firmware in fastboot mode & update it to latest version OR unlock bootloader, flash TWRP & install custom rom.
Thank you Sanesh. I got all the img/bin files successful now. However, the ZF2 has this issue when you select recovery from bootloader screen it gives dead android. You can then (extra step) hold power and VOl + and get into stock recovery. This is a flaw in the original firmware, I think.
BUT, this extra step is causing TWRP not to be entered. Stock recovery is OK, but not TWRP.
I had to recover the phone using the SOC drivers; before that TWRP worked perfectly.
Thanks
Have you unlocked bootloader ? Unlock bootloader first then flash twrp using giovix92 method. Then reboot to recovery.
Thanks. Turned out I was using a twrp image that is only for marshmallow. I still use lollipop. Every thing is now back to where it was before I had to recover the thing using the SOC method.
Lesson learned. un-root before trying to upgrade to MM.
