Ow :crying: well thanks!!!

Usually not as it doesn't modify any binaries.
KNOX should remain untripped.

I just rooted without tripping the Knox flag. There's a thread in the Original Development section about it. It's a fairly simple process

If you want to flash roms then you should go with the auto root method. This just gives root access.

Just double checking that no one is bricking with it.
Although with att root can I auto root later? I like phone as is minus bloat for now.
You said you don't care about knox so why go down that road?

[SM-G930/Exynos] CF-Auto-Root

CF-Auto-Root is now available from the repo - http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
Before flashing, make sure you have enabled "OEM unlock" from "Developer Settings" !
Note that CFAR's display code isn't yet compatible with the S7, as such, there is no output on screen. This means that after flashing with ODIN, the device will only show you the S7 logo, and it seems like nothing happens. Just leave the device alone for 5 minutes. It'll reboot a few times, then boot into Android, but now you have root.
If it still doesn't do anything after 5 minutes, something has gone wrong, and you should probably reflash your stock boot.img and recovery.img.
Great work! Thank you.
Any opinion about if it would work with G935/Exynos Edge?
Sry! Didn't see your tweet!

@Chainfire
if we already have root with SuperSU 2.68, is it necessary to flash this? thanks
Will this wipe my phone?
Worked fine for me! Thanks a lot!

No, it won't.
Just to be clear, this WILL NOT work on the G930T, correct?

Right, I got that, just wondering if anyone has actually had success.
This will not work on G930A.
@Chainfire
Is dm-verity disabled when you flash CF-Auto-Root? Can I make system modifications like CSC feature expert?
How will this not wipe your phone if it includes unlocking the bootloader...also will this work on the W8 Canadian variant?
Echt weer een super prestatie van je @Chainfire !
Tomorrow my S7 will arrive and of course I need root to restore Titanium Backups of my old S5 (only data, not the progs).
Just to be sure, rooting with CF-Autoroot will not trip my Knox counter right ?

Dude it clearly states that it will:

If you have a KNOX-enabled device, using CF-Auto-Root will trip the KNOX WARRANTY VOID status"

Sorry dude, must have overlooked it somehow in my anxiousness to receive my S7 tomorrow.
Thanks!
Does this leave stock recovery or TWRP?
you'll have to flash this back. once autoroot is done there is no need in leaving the boot and recovery img from chainfire on your phone.
get your hands on the corresponding boot and recovery images for your phone and flash them back after you are done.
knox will be tripped anyway, so you may also flash twrp or anything else.

Nope. Extremely risky let alone stupid. If you want a £1000 paperweight, go right ahead. If they check the bootloader, surely they'd check the flash counter that you just tripped by flashing a custom ROM.

Lol if u dont understand u should probably just wait for an easier method..
Magisk ALREADY does this specifically so apps cant detect it.. ro.boot props cant be added to normal build.prop as they are props passed by the boot loader.. props can do ro. Properties..
Resetprop is a binary that comes with magisk..

edit firmware stock

hi all, I would have a question to ask you since you are more experienced than me .. I would like to know if it is possible to modify an original firmware and then install it via odin so that the guarantee is not affected, such as removing system apps that are not needed to nothing and remove that annoying beep that you hear every time you turn up and down the volume ... thanks to all

No it won't work. But you can do it and flash it on via twrp and yes you'll need root.
Many ppl has done that and they call it custom rom.

try before with old device because it is dangerous if you don't know how to do

I'm wait
Actually it depends on the banking app...
For mine, no matter what I try, banking app is not working on my S20. MagiskHide & co... nothing....
A specific xposed module would probably do the job but I don't have coding skills with Xposed.
