how to add "sync" toggle to top pulldown? - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

I'm coming from a Moto X pure. I was previously able to toggle Google Sync on and off from the drop-down menu on Top. This was very helpful as I routinely disabled sink overnight so I wouldn't be woken up by email notifications, Etc. anyway I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to disable and reasonable Google Sync easily, such as a drop-down toggle. Thanks

Calendar - notifications on/off

Wonder if anyone else has come across this. In the HTC calendar I would like to have notifications for some important entries, but not for all of them. If I apply notifications these are given to ALL items - when I add a new entry to the calendar there is no option for turning off the notification, only get the 5min, 10min etc options. Wish there was a way around as I do like the calendar.
I've got the option on my device; scrolling up the 'Reminders' list, I have 'None' above the 5 minutes reminder.
Damn.. I feel utterly stupid. I forgot to tick the activate the thing. My apologies.
I still wish the default reminder could be None.
Thanks for your response though.

[Q] Calendar Notifications

I am not getting notified on calendar events as they come due. I have used both the alert and status bar notification options and still nothing. All other notifications seem to be working fine. Am I missing something?

[Q] My moto 360 no longer vibrates when getting a message (or notification)

Hi
My watch no longer vibrates when I get a notification or message. It's there if I look manually, but I don't get notified by it. It still vibrates when getting a call or a alarm, so the vibrate function is still functional.
Anyone have any idea what could be the reason?
Thanks in advance
Yup, noticed this too after updating to 5.1.1
This is happening to me too. I hope there is a resolution soon. Missed a meeting.
By design, the watch only vibrates on events that your phone would vibrate for. is it possible you hvae a setting on your phone that is set not to vibrate on messages for some reason?
Are these meetings in Google Calendar? For some reason Google turned of notification by default recently in Google Calendar.
- Go to calendar.google.com
- Go to Settings, Calendar tab
- 'Edit notifications' for your calendar name
- Add a Popup notification
Not sure why they turned this off by default. Pissed off many.

Heads-up/peek notifications, can't remember last time I've seen one!

I've tried searching a lot, so I apologise if my google-foo is not strong.
I can't find an app that is sending me heads-up notifications. I get the notification icon in the toolbar, ambient notifications are working fine.
I have tried inbox, gmail, monzo, android pay, calendar. None of them are making heads-up notifications.
I have checked "Notification access" the apps that have access are Google, Google VR Services, and Pixel Launcher.
Anyone else getting/not getting heads-up notifications? I've not disabled them, I don't even know if you can anymore!

Can badges be unlinked from notifications?

On the S9 "app icon badges" screen in "settings", it says "notifications and badges are linked."
Is it possible to *un*link them either through a setting (that I'm not seeing) or a third party app? Search results on the net for this issue are almost exclusively about how to turn the badges off.
In an ideal world, I use the notifications that appear at the top of the screen to let me know something has come in and I can check whether I need to deal with it immediately. If it's not a right-now issue, I swipe it away to keep the clutter off the top bar. At the end of the day, I cruise to a folder of communications apps and look for badges to remind me to deal with what I could ignore earlier. Badges disappearing after a swipe is a big monkey wrench in how I interact with my phone.
Any thoughts on a fix or a work-around?
