No and if it starts happening widely google will replace the screens under warranty

Just checked mine and I have burn in. Been using since Friday (Oct 20th). Google better take this seriously!

Did you contact google ?

This can't be a true test. I just did it on my OnePlus 3, and the notification icons show up faintly. Doesn't mean my screen has burn in!
Also, real burn-in shows up when the screen is actually off! No issues here when I put it to sleep. I call BS

I am not having these issues. All functioning as expected. I will
keep an eye on it. I Received my phone Thursday

Just tested it and it looks like my screen has this. I have been using the phone since I received it on the 18th.
Do I need to contact Google or can I wait it out to see if they will come up with a solution? What's the return policy on these anyways?

If this is real then the more people who contact the quicker google will do something. If it only sees a few complaints nothing will be done

How do you open in full screen mode? Can't get pic up in the notification bar or down by buttons. Thanks

try using the pictures in this article: https://www.androidcentral.com/google-pixel-2-xl-screen-burn
when you click on the pics, a box will appear in the top right corner, just tap it, it will go fullscreen.

No burn in here

I have burn in here. Had the phone since the 20th. It's faint but definitely noticeable on the nav and notification bar.

Is there a way we can prevent this? A way to hide the nav bar? I think I can notice mine faintly too .. extremely faint but still.. troubling.

OMG. Your screens do not have burn in! At least from that webpage test. Do you see an image left when you lock the phone? If not, then there is no burn in!!
True test...go to that page and notice the "faint" notification icons. Then change your notification icons and try the webpage test again. Is the "burn in" different? If so, you don't have burn in!

Pull up the image and then tap the screen again to make the status bar and nav bar to slide away.

I can still see my nav buttons on my lockscreen so I guess I have burn in. This sucks because my Nexus 6p had serious burn in

I checked my P2XL and I do see the burn ins. I had this with my OG pixel XL. I'm going to wait and see what Google does. I only see this on grey background. I tried with an all white background and I can't see it. Besides this I really like this phone.

I have a brown line about 1/4 in height across the center of my display. Not sure if it's burn in or a bad display panel.
I chatted with Google earlier today and they are sending me a replacement.

Had this too, found out about it two days trying to watch the avengers.
Same locations, it seems hiding the notification bar and navbar fix the issue temporarily. I also heard using white fixes this too.
I haven't noticed this in cwm yet but I feel ashamed this has happened on a near one month old nexus.
Funny you can see the natural colors where the burn in comes in.

Well the use of amoleds is whats shocking. My incredible got plagued by this, looked horrible on anything black. Always saw my status bar odd images and anything else. I'm hoping it isn't as bad on the nexus but from what I'm seeing it doesn't differ

How did this burn thing happen... Is it because u rooted and flash a custom ROM or it can happen to any galaxy nexus
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Burn in happens when the small LEDs on our screens don't get changed around often enough and they burn in.
Sometimes it is savable by using an app that flashes through the entire RGB spectrum, but sometimes not even that will help it.
How offen you need to hide status bar to prevent burn in for avarage screen time for example 4 hours a day? And is transparent status bar safe or it is just better than stock status bar.
Ugh I'm having burn in issues too on mine, oddly though its only the status bar, if i hide the home buttons there's absolutely no burn in that spot which is weird considering the nav bar stays up even more often than notifications. (I do a lot of web surfing and some games mainly so in theory the nav bar is on more)
I think I heard maybe 2-3 hours. Transparency will help a lot but the icons on the bar will burn too. From my understand blue burns in easily..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
You guys are getting the whole thing wrong. The burn in is not occurring on the notification bar and navigation panel. On the contrary...the burn in is on the remaining screen. Meaning that the pixels on the remaining screen have been degrading due to use of maximum brightness full time and what u see is the difference.
The black colour on our screens cannot cause burn in. In fact black on amoled is the only color where the pixels are not lit when in use.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Oh, that is most of on screen time. It really kills the purpose of status bar. But I have white icons on black background so I hope it is better than stock blue icons
I feel like crying

Time to Swap Again?

Dead pixel? Stuck pixel? Something else? Time to return? *sadface* The other stuff are bubbles from my crappy screen protector. Also it doesn't stick one color. Can't see it on black, but on green it's greenish, blue it's bluish red etc.

Brand new phone at the store. I thought it was a hot spot/pixel but screen was fully black when off. Usually hot pixel still shows. Either way not sure what happened to it exactly.

My advice? Don't bother getting into the exchange game. I have been through 4 Note 5's for different issues. Every single one of them had this issue in sunlight. Each one was in different spots but they all had this issue. Like others have said, it's just a part of amoled.

One had a loose home button, one had a dead pixel and the first I exchanged because of this screen issue because I didn't know it was normal at first. So I'm on my 4th one.

Yea every iPhone I have ever owned never had an issue like this so I am seriously considering switching back to Apple.
To be honest I do not think this is normal as I watched a lot of videos and reviews and no mention of this issue. I also can not find mention anywhere of an AMOLED doing this. The only mention was in dark on a black screen there are some lines and such.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
I haven't noticed this problem on my Note 5, or any of my previous-model Notes. On the other hand, I don't really see it in your photo either, so maybe I'm just not observant enough.
Just took the phone back today. The rep from Samsung said that is in no way normal for AMOLED. I got a replacement we took it outside and the screen is beautiful. No ugly smudging anymore!

Is my screen messed up or maybe dead pixels or something?

I just got my Pixel 2 XL and on the top right corner there is a little circle and only in the top right corner. It does not show in any screen shots i take and there is no way to make it go away, i cannot click on or drag it out its just a tiny half circle in the corner of the top right of the screen.
Anyone else have this?

Yea, i returned mine and now its much better. Not sure how good the quality control is on these phones but maybe we just got unlucky with this issue.
I came to post something similar but I'm not sure if it's an actual issue it app specific honestly. I'll try to get a shot of it but it's Garrett noticable. Over in the top left there's sometimes a slightly discolored line. Very faint. But it's only there when using certain apps. Some apps it doesn't show at all. It's really noticable with Twitter. Another strange thing about this line is it doesn't matter the background color. It's shows up with dark apps and light apps. But not all apps these colors. It's very bizarre... It's where the glass starts to curve I'm my opinion.

[TIP] How to get rid of the "annoying" charging message?

Galaxy Note10 TIP:
This is how you get rid of the message at the bottom of your screen (Note10/Note10+/Note10 5G) when you are charging your device:

2. Create a folder on your phone, eg "Screensaver"

4. Go to: Settings -> Display -> Screensaver -> Select Photo frame -> Select Screensaver

If you have gestures without hints turned on, you don't even have to download a wallpaper. Just set screensaver to Photo, but don't point it toward your Google photos. No pic to display, it will just show a blank screen.
I get why people would want to get rid of the informative text at the bottom.
I don't find it annyoing at all, I even find it useful. Quick and good way, IMO, to replace the LED.

Depends on your definition of "far too long."
Depends how long you usually keep a phone. Most payment plans are 24-36 months. Major update as tend to come every other year. So what's far too long?
Depends on if you leave it on the charger for hours or just occasional top off.
Depends on other screen activity that might counteract that burn in.
Depends on how much the OLED technology has improved to combat burn in.
I mean, people are buying $3000 OLED TVs and getting burn in on their screens in under a year. So is, what...10 months far too long? 6 months? A week? 2 years?
May not be for everyone but if you have S View Cover, you can disable AOD only when the cover is closed! There is a settings option for that.
No burn in, no workarounds.

I keep seeing this an answer answer but how much does it move ? The main display moves between the the middle and top of the screen. Where does the charging indicator go?
Edit:
Nevermind I saw it. After the screen sleeps it defaults to the center but after awhile it shifts to the left or right

Really? I always wake up and the fully charged message and the icon are always in the same spot. hmm
Mine never moves. And even if it moves just a pixel or two, you'll still wind up with burn in, because that leaves the majority of the pixels stationary. Plus they're just moving over the same spots over and over again.
