Cheers..

Is it the same for all videos? Because it doesn't happen for me.

No, even in quite room; volume is very low. Compared it with other mobile and the difference is very obvious.

No. Always without headphones, Bluetooth etc.
Is this something related to software or hardware?

I've been searching for an answer an can't find it?
Running Liquid Smooth v2.4 everything is practically flawless IMO, but my speaker volume is ridiculously low?
I've tried all sorts of things and nothing works.
When people have a problem with the speaker concerning this ROM
They seem to only complain about it being too loud?
Any suggestions as too boosting the volume?

Maybe audio that you're trying to play is just low.
What is it that the volume is low on?
Music? Video? Both?

Well ringer volume is fine. But any video playback volume is horrible. Watching YouTube or while recording a video I practically have to yell into the mic for any audio playback. Very weird?

Well that's odd. It may have to do with the ROM itself.
Have you changed anything on the ROM at all? System wise?

Hmm, the only thing I can think of then is a problem with the ROM itself.
Read through the liquidsmooth thread and check if anyone else is having the same problem as you, and if there is a fix.
I bought a LG G3 which was on the Three network from eBay. I'm getting voice call issues so I'm hoping I can get a generic rom which might help?

What issues are you getting? Is it crackling and static in the earpiece but not when on speaker or bluetooth?

Yes exactly that issue, but only when on GSM calls. Not while using skype
AND thanks very much for the link. I'm downloading the vodafone one now. Maybe there is an audio codec or network issue? Driving me nuts. I can send the phone back to the seller but then I'm without a phone

Are you getting high quality voice calls for a few seconds and then its dropping to lower quality? or it it just straight crackling and static right from the start of the call?

Hmmm, would be interested to hear whether the software fixes it, but I doubt it. I just swapped my handset because it had the same symptoms. I reckon it was a badly mounted speaker, but then if yours was the same problem then you'd expect it to happen on skype as well.

How bad was the static? I'm trying to figure out if im having a similar problem of if it is just the networks poor audio codec.

Software didn't do a thing. And yes, I can't understand why it doesn't impact it during skype calls.
I have had a few calls an it sometimes goes away, so maybe this is to do with the HD voice codec that networks are rolling out. Vodafone might have it's own codec which is not on the device.
BTW, the link on the site for Vodafone UK was the Italian 3 one again!

Ah ok, and that's on on the earpeice? Mines a network codec problem then i think because i don't get that kind of buzzing sound. That sounds almost as if the speaker cant handle the volume?

Yes that's max volume through the earpiece but when you lower the volume and your ear is next to the phone you can still hear it. Almost like an buzz echo. It doesn't happen on skype calls.
Which network are you on?
I'm starting to think it might be a Vodafone network issue.

The way vodafone seam to handle the hd voice codec is it will use it if your on 3g (4g will switch to 3g as they dont have voice over 4g yet), but if the signal goes down during a call or fluctuates (no idea on the thresholds for this) it will drop to a lower quality codec/network type to maintain the call. But it only goes down not up, so regaining a good signal during a call will wont switch you back to the hd voice codec. i might phone them tomorrow about it and see if that is indeed what is happening to me.
But that doesnt sound like the issue your having if the video you posted is what all your calls sound like.

One thing to consider about not having the problem with skype. I do know that other phones (Nexus 4 for example) had problems with audio if your plunged in a headset (earbuds+mic) which wouldn't work properly with gsm calls but would work perfectly fine with voip. Its possible viop isn't affecting whatever problem the speaker has but the speaker may still have a fault.

Is that using the earpiece or speaker? It seems pretty loud for the earpiece!
But yes, mine sounded quite a lot like that.
ok it's gotta go back
I went over to my neighbour's who has a Three sim, same issue.

And yes, it does sound bloody loud for a earpiece so I'm wondering if that's the fault as it doesn't get that loud with skype

I have no idea how long this has been going on because I've just recently noticed it, but when I open any app to use the camera, my phone makes a click noise, not from the speakers, but the actual phone itself makes a click noise, I have no idea how to fix this, it's not that bothersome as I'm rarely ever using my camera anywhere where its quiet enough to hear it, but it's obnoxious to hear, does anybody know what could be causing this or is anybody at least having the same problem?
Well, I have same problem as you on my Samsung Galaxy S4. Any ideas?
Calm down, all phones with Autofocus make this sound. Your device is working properly.

my M8 Developers Edition is silent opening the camera app
I think it's more audible on some phones than on others, just by randomness, but I've had several phones of different models that make the click noise and it's never affected performance or camera functionality. It's normal.
I had Nokia 7 Plus, it had an issue with the USB port which the service center couldn't fix, so they replaced it with Nokia 8.1
The speaker works well with music and videos, but on call, it's too low. What should I do?

Media volume (music and videos) is different from call volume. Check the call volume when you're in a call. I don't have the device, but this is a common "problem". They should be clear about it, but unfortunately they aren't. Hope it works out for you

So happy this actually works. Exact same procedure as for 6t.
Using the adb commands to enable the built in call recorder, turn immediately run adb for skvalex call recorder. I've rebooted several times and the settings stick and works.
Anyone need any help let me know.

That I couldn't tell you since I have never used magisk. My phones aren't rooted so I would default to say rooted is always going to better. I can say this method is clear enough to work. I would not call the quality the same as voice uplink/downlink.

Well, without root it's just the typical procedure. Increase the mic volume so the app, this one or ACR and others, can pick up more of the caller's audio. Increasing the background noise, too. So it's never clear.
So it's a shame that root continues to be the only practical solution to achieving in-call recording and not just recording the speaker.

I know this is old and ive changed phones several times but this all worked where call recording is digital. Working on Android 12 also
