Hello, I have a question about the Gallery on the Nexus Galaxy. Is there a way to delete the "auto synced" albums from google+ and synced photos?
I wanted to use the gallery just for local photos that I take with the phone and that I import onto the phone from my computer, yet for some reason, even after I stopped syncing photos with google+ & synced photos, those stupid albums are still there, AND I cant take them off.
Has anyone found a way to take these off just so you have your camera album and other local only albums?
Thanks!
Mike

Link is not working ,i would like a solution to the problem too.
Picasa web albums. Go there, log in with your Google account and delete the albums
Edit: search picasa on Google. Its not an app
I still want these images on my google+ account, just not on my phone >_< is there a way to do that?
Have you tried to disable photo sync in the account and sync settings?
Yes, I have both that and instant upload turned off. I have also unchecked google+ to mkae sure that it wasnt that... But still after uploading new albums, those stupid picasa (or w/e) albums continue to come onto my phone! It's really annoying and stupid! I don't get why they can't realize that some people dont want all their public photos where their private ones are....
Until a month ago I saw my picture in conversations in gmail app. Now I don't see it, but I can normally see that same picture in my gtalk, messaging app, G+ app and contacts.
Any ideas how to solve this?
Any way for this?
I don't think that's possible.
The only way to do it will be manually I guess. After you tap (enlarge) on a friend's pic on WhatsApp, the image is stored in the WhatsApp/Profile Pics folder in your sdcard. Open that image and set it as the contact image.
I don't think auto syncing from WhatsApp to Contacts is implemented yet. Can't even think of a 3rd party app doing so.
So, I have a peculiar issue with my S3. When I add a google account, it asks me what all I want to sync to my phone (calendar, gmail, picasa albums etc.) and I have unchecked the picasa and google photos box there. Still, when I open the gallery, I see all my picasa albums there. Is there a way some different way to stop the phone from syncing the picasa albums? This is happening with my 3 different google accounts. I only want the gallery to have local pictures and not the ones associated with my gmail account. Is there a way to do this? Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help.
I too hate this... and there is no way to stop default gallery app from syncing... even with sync disabled in settings.
1. Get an app like TiBu that can freeze apps.
2. Freeze Gallery app and unfreeze it only when you need to change lock screen image.
3. Install some app like QuickPic to replace gallery.
There is a process call Picasa Uploader. Try freezing it and see if that helps. Am not sure on this though.
Even after not choosing to sync photos from your google account, somehow it still shows in your gallery.
Here's the fix for this.
Setup your Google account with photos not checked to sync (as u know even after this, photos still shows in gallery).
Then go to "Application Manager", "All", in "Gallery", choose "Clear data".
This will clean the thumbnails, not your actual photos. If you chose to uncheck photo sync from Google, it will not appear again. Must be a bug with the OS synching with google. Hope this helps.

additionally, (depending on your rom) you can go into your gallery, hit menu and select what photos/albums you want showing up there. you should be able to select just the albums on the device.

Doesn't help. Relaunch app, and they will pop up again.

make sure sync for the picasa albums is still off, then go into Settings > Application manager. select the All tab, find Gallery and hit the clear data button. next time you open the Gallery, it will take a moment to rebuild it but the picasa albums should finally be gone.

That worked like a charm. Thanks!
I actually don't mind this but it is annoying that it scans every folder for pictures. I end up seeing random album art in mine. Is there way to stop that?

throw a .nomedia file in the folders you don't want showing up in your gallery.
Anyone else having issues with their contacts not showing contact photo's that is stored on Gmail, it was fine this morning, now all images are not showing on my phone contacts, I did do a sync, but still not showing. If I log in to Gmail from PC contact photo's are there. I was playing in the contacts settings on my phone, but never really did anything. Anyone has any thoughts.
Update: I looked everywhere and could not find a solution. So I decided to delete my Gmail account and then set it back up again and all contact photos are back. So now you know what to do if it happens to you, cheers. :good:
