Sailfish OS (also styled as SailfishOS or abbreviated to SFOS) is a mobile operating system combining the Linux kernel for a particular hardware platform use, the open-source Mer core middleware, a proprietary UI contributed by Jolla, and other third-party components.
https://img.xda-cdn.com/sP516dFVJKyUezAnTyIGYjZ1iU0=/http%3A%2F%2Fpraxistipps-images.chip.de%2FZfsIsgbRpVTn3hYYVzeQ91Fxnz0%3D%2F0x0%2Ffilters%3Ano_upscale%28%29%3Aformat%28jpeg%29%2Fpraxistipps.s3.amazonaws.com%252Fdas-jolla-phone_210d4af5.png
It's a beautiful OS developed by the Jolla and the mer team. The UI is totally guesture based. So say good bye to your boring Android navigation bar. The OS is fast and butter smooth with zero lags. This is a totally new experience and certainly a delightful one from the same old boring mundane Android which has had almost the same UI since 5.0 .
Flashing Process:
Note: This has to be flashed over LineageOS 15.1
1. Download LineageOS 15.1: LineageOS 15.1
2. Download Sailfish OS 3.0: SailfishOS 3.0
3. Wipe cache, dalvik cache system and data. Copy the two ROMs to your phone.
4. Flash LineageOS 15.1 first, then Sailfish 3.0 .
Bugs:
Bluetooth.
WiFi once turned off won't work
MTP
Maybe other stuffs I dont Know
Please Note: It is in pre-alpha condition. Not stable. Only for the Curious minds. Stable build will be uploaded in a while. But you can still flash and get a feel of it.
I hope i wasn't too late pushing out a new build. Sorry if I was late

I have to question...
What we have to do if we want to go back to nouget roms after installing this...?
And WhatsApp and youtube
works in this rom?
@PseudoDev
I cannot get it to boot. When flashing sailfish OS right after flashing CM13, it does not install and gives error (screenshot attached)
It installs successfully after rebooting to TWRP after installing CM13, but on boot, the phone freezes with dim white LED always on. I ran that adb shell command yet it does not boot . I couldn't take logs at that time as phone was not recognized in adb.

Are you using twrp 3.1? Actually, i forgot to mention that you won't be able to flash this on twrp 3.1.
Holdon, lemme upload twrp 3.0.x
It is chinese but you can change the language in settings. After that, follow the steps again.

What error do you see on terminal when you type it in the twrp terminal? Also, you don't have to go to fastboot. You need to stay on recovery and connect your device. From there, run the commands on PC.

AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

The device does not boot at all
Hello, I'm new to this kind of stuff, but I followed every step by the book; and still, the device does not boot. I get the message that says the ZIP file has been installed correctly, then the device reboots, and I have a black screen where I cannot even boot into recovery mode. Any help would be much appreciated. Kindly note that I tried the Carbon copy, but I get the same error message as well. Is there anything I do the wrong way or what?

You'll be fine with that
so, just flashed this rom onto a castor. everything works fine so far .. flashed rom - > gapps (full) -> magisk (latest beta)
file explorer bugged yes, but just install another one from playstore
videos works ( mx player played mkv and avi file) netflix and youtube .. no problems
musik is a bit loud but on the other hand videos are a bit low ^^
hotspot working, but without data there is no use to it anyway
ouh one big hit, if you format your sdcard into shared space (internal memory) you are unable to get into twrp
sometimes the tab seems a bit slow with graphics and/or animations (on playstore) , but that's nothing heartbreaking
yeah, love it so far .. looking forward to a castor build with mobile data support
@opendata,
Download link not working. Takes me to transfer.sh site but will not allow to download. Can you put up a mirror?
Edit: dis-regard. link working now...
Battery charges very fast and last long.. much better that N RRrom.
Clock wont move in center even i try.. annoying

yeah for me it says 7 days .. can't be right .. gonna check this out
hmm my sdcard says android uses 120gb space
i'm still on aicp, do i must use flashtool with stock rom??? i'm afraid to use it, i dont like idea of back to stock 6.0.1 (never used flashtool before) and again unlock, flash twrp and flash custom can brick device
you can flash it via twrp, no problem.
you don't need to going back to stock oO , just go twrp wipe everything and then flash the rom
so i'll try i thought your build is like builds from rcstar6679 that need using flashtool with stock before flash custom
i know it is rude to ask and i'm sorry, but is there any progress with LOS for castor?
Hi, I am currently on RR Nougat 7.1.2 . Is it necessary to do a full wipe (cache, dalvik, data, system) ?
What happens to sd card used as internal memory?
yes you should do a full wipe, no dirty flash from 7 to 8
it seems that the card gets miscalculated .. doubled size and then android takes half of it oO kind of strange but the same error is on carbon rom, so
it is a oreo error.
Seems like the download link is not working. Anyone got a mirror?
better use the carbon ROM, this Build here is more than outdated and it seems the project is abandoned. So your only choice is Carbon

The download link works just keep trying. For whatever reason the file host is a bit flaky, but will work if you continue to try.
This is no different then any other ROM opendata releases. The updates come when he has time. On RR Rom we got updates every 4-6 weeks, a little premature to call it dead, he does have other things going on like we all do and hobbies like this take the back seat.
Well, it isn't premature to take a conclusion when he doesn't even answer a simple Question since a month. The download link is DEAD, the file got deleted. So no, there is at this point no other
choice .. Stock / RR Final or Carbon Oreo. btw. this rom was based on LOS not RR. And it is nearly two releases behind.
I for myself still waiting for a new update here for castor (not windy), coz I really hope that a LoS Build would be running more than perfect on this tablet. but i think we will have to wait until
the next year when oreo is out of beta.
Sorry for not answering recently, i am really busy. I should have more free time near end of december which is about the time rr will be released (i will move to that) in the meantime i recommend people go to carbon.

I installed Lineage OS and it works like a charm.
Only one stupid question. I want to install magisk, witch recovery should I use?
I warmly welcome. I will write using a translator because I do not speak English. I was able to install the "Resurection Remix" version. Generally, I am very pleased but I wanted to describe the mistakes I noticed. When I take pictures from the "camera" application, I can not see the image preview. in the second version of the Huawei camera, everything is fine. If I find anything else I will let you know. Regards
Edit 1:
When I turn the camera on the "moving picture" function, the camera starts again with the function turned on and the same happens when I turn this function off.

Yes Brother, I Found One
install the rom, download from the browser the application called ... device ID (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evozi.deviceid) Download the application .....
You execute it and then it will tell you your Google ID in the 2nd option, you will have the problem window in the last option, you will be sorry that you register with Google ... you do it and then it will tell you what to do, obviously this process is simpler than playing with the ADB so lonunico that you should do is copy the ID of the application and paste it on the page and you're done ... reboot the device and no longer give the problem ... doubt? abisar and with pleasure,
I do not speak English, nor am I an expert but it worked

You execute it and then it will tell you your Google ID in the 2nd option, you will have the problem window in the last option, you will be sorry that you register with Google ... you do it and then it will tell you what to do, obviously this process is simpler than playing with the ADB so lonunico that you should do is copy the ID of the application and paste it on the page and you're done ... reboot the device and no longer give the problem ... doubt? abisar and with pleasure,
I do not speak English, nor am I an expert but it worked

My problem is that the install stops while it is connecting to google to a page to input the device ID - it hangs in a browser window and does not allow me any further to install the ROM.
Cannot get past the part to link to a google account.
any ideas?

In that case, you have to remove the SIM card from the tray and delete the WiFi networks registered at the time of the configuration process .... and it will automatically send you connection error and leave you to omit
At the end of the Configuration insert the Sim in your Tray and Synchronize your Wi-Fi Network

Hello @OldDroid,
I'm on RR beta3 and have a bluetooth pairing issues, tried with another phone I can pair it after several tries, which is not the case with my smartwatch. It's listed but can't pair, also there is a problem with bluetooth speaker and headphones.
Here, I'm attaching log, from what I found there is a problem with starting some bluetooth service, haven't Googled it at the AOSP source.
Thanks

THIS IS NOT ANDROID NOR THERE IS ANY ANDROID APP SUPPORT. GO USE GNU OR SOMETHING
Not working:
Camera recording (in progress but i wanted to share the sfos with yall already)
Use advanced camera from openrepos if you want wide angle (jolla didn't get to add it to stock camera yet)
calls are untested altho should work
GPS is untested (probably works too)
INSTALL:
Strap in for a ride, if at any step you don't know what you are doing, you better give up and stay on android. If i'm doing something incorrectly then tell me but i've been fighting over 3 days just to get lineage and twrp working… but maybe i'm just stoopid
If you can install provided lineage 17.1 on slot a then you don't need these instructions and jump to flashing sfos:
I couldn't find any valid tutorial on getting stock android 10 but i've found stock fastbootable image somewhere (yes, don't trust it lol) so i will share it with you [link]
Also lineage removed 17.1 builds but the guy was making nightlies which are still available so i also uploaded the build i'm using for archive purposes [link]
Idea is that no matter where you are coming from or if you just bought device you should get to sfos this way. And if you are wondering still yes we will be removing ALL YOUR DATA so backup it.
Flash the provided stock via fastboot (there is script and even files for QDL but i haven't tested those). It's pretty straight forward you should figure it out, if not then there is some tutorial i think on this forum or on internet, if you can't handle it then give up really you can do more damage than good.
Verify that its booting, stock will be flashed to slot a. flash and boot twrp (android 10 version, link to image, link to installer) via "fastboot flash boot twrp-3.5.2_10-1-Z01RD.img" i'm not really using windows but you should be able to figure it out already. Flash lineage 17.1 from provided link, it will flash to slot b. afterwards flash twrp installer (the zip) so that you can boot twrp (just flashing twrp on boot on slot b doesn't work GO FIGURE). Reboot, verify that lineage is booting, reboot to bootloader, select recovery, hold power button (fastboot reboot recovery only works sometimes, again GO FIGURE). you should be back in twrp on slot b. Flash lineage again as well as twrp installer so that lineage will be installed on slot a as well as twrp will be bootable. reboot, verify that lineage boots and that you are in fact on slot a. Finally we have lineage on slot a.
Sailfish flashing instructions (come here if you have lineage 17.1 on slot a):
- download rootfs
- flash/boot twrp on slot a (or slot b, i'm not even sure at this point)
- wipe everything (you need to format data, not wipe, format. data NEEDS to be unencrypted, advanced -> format data -> yes, if you didn't realize yet we are wiping EVERYTHING so backup your data)
- Install rootfs (aka sailfish, it will flash kernel onto the same slot so you don't have to worry about switching slots, at least i hope so, if it doesn't boot, get the hybris-boot.img from the zip and fastboot flash boot it onto slot a)
- Boot
- Have fun

Hybris17 is almost ready. I'll re-port 5z on top of lineage17/hybris17 in hope of getting modem fixed. If the modem will turn out to be fixed i will push it forward as current hybris16 based port has only stereo and modem broken.
HEY ITS NOT DEAD OKAY

Hybris is library that Sailfishos uses to communicate with android side of things so it's still sailfishos just using newer android base, lineage 17 in this case

There is no android support.
Currently what is blocking me is being unable to boot twrp at all so i cannot flash lineage 17.1 and therefore i cannot flash sfos. This device is such pita…
Good news, since i got 17.1 to work, i also got port working on 17 base and mobile data (and probably calls too) are working! So now hopefully i will have 100% working port as now i only have camera left to fix. After that i will release it again

Ofcourse not, ports don't have android support
So i released the build because i was impatient. Instructions may sound difficult but if you know what you are doing then its pretty straightforward
Step 1 get provided lineage 17.1 installed on slot A
Step 2 make sure /data is unencrypted, format it
Step 3 flash sfos on slot A
Step 4 voila

We are very excited to announce the first beta of Paranoid Android Topaz, based on Android 13.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with beautiful wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.
Our builds are based on the Code Linaro Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

We kindly ask all of you that are in a position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

I've been through many ROMs since I bought my poco and I can say, without any doubt, that this is the most stable and battery saver. Thanks a lot, dev!

Paranoid it's more stable and has better battery life, Arrow has a bit more features. I really hope we get pass the "beta" phase this time, this rom is among the legendary ones and it's a prime example of what a custom rom should be.

Yes, ive tried It (was my daily ROM at a12.1 so thought would be the same with a13) but have found aospa more stable (no headphone problems when received a call, less idle drain, fixed round corners, etc)
The only thing that i miss is the hbm.
Excellent ROM! but only few notification and call ringtones working, others are causing error and crash.
BUG REPORT. Thanks for the work!

I cannot agree more, I'm sticking with this ROM for a while, my only issue is that I can't hide the pill bar, even with magisk and for some reason orange fox is not working with the rom
Can you please share what's not working with orange fox? I think about moving to PA and I'm currently using orange fox as recovery. Thank you!

So it's kinda weird, I first tried to install the rom with orange fox and got stuck in the splash screen, then installed the rom from fastboot, all good but I tried to do fastboot boot to orange fox and just got stuck in a black screen, fastboot boot worked with TWRP but could not mount system so flashing magisk failed, but patching the boot image and flashing it from fastboot worked, so I'm using the rom and it's rooted but with no custom recovery

Yes, before and after, tried a couple of times, if you wanna flash from recovery I would sugest to use the rom's stock recovery
Did anyone succeed flashing this through recovery? If so, what recovery did you use?

Well, I flashed it successfully with OrangeFox (my current working build - I haven't tried with the latest released version, but I don't see how that would make a difference).
I guess that the trick is to format data before flashing the ROM, and, immediately after flashing the ROM, reboot OrangeFox (ignoring any errors that might be shown), and then format data again. Then reboot to system (again ignoring any errors be shown).
BTW: I flashed it successfully two different times, just to satisfy myself that the first success wasn't a fluke (it wasn't a fluke).

It doesn't seem that you can "fastboot boot" a recovery at all on this ROM.
You might have to flash it via "fastboot flash boot recovery.img", and then run "fastboot reboot recovery".
BTW: why would you want to use a Beta 11.1_1_5_A12 release that has been superseded by a subsequent Stable release?

Thanks for your reply, that´s what I learned as well. You can´t fastboot boot any recovery on PA yet. I didn´t try fastboot flash yet since everything else works pretty fine and installing my phone from scratch again is something I try to avoid for at least a month now
Regarding the beta build: I wasn´t aware of the stable release. I had the beta image file somewhere and gave it a try.
