Power off on long press anywhere - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

I'm having trouble with the feature (?), which turns off my DE-JY-UMS01N2 head unit whenever i keep my finger on the screen for a couple of seconds (no matter if I move it around or not).
Assuming this is really a feature (I can turn it on the same way), does anybody know how to disable that? It is driving me crazy when navigating long lists, or google maps.

powerbutton application

Does anyone know of an app that changes the behaviour of the powerbutton? I keep activating the screen while it's in my pocket...
Not possible, and how the hel you manage to turn it on all the time?!?
Never happened to me!
perhaps my button is more sensetive? I think it happens when I put it in my pocket, when I push it down I either touch it with my finger, or if the phone is upside down, it gets pressed down against the bottom of the pocket. Sometimes I think I press the button when I take the phone out of my pocket.
I have noticed it's turned on when I take it out, and once it even took a photo.... I tried the LockBot app, but it seems it doesn't work every time, so I had to return to the standard. I might try to get the paid version, when/if I get that option at any time.
So, I'd like to have an app that would change the powerbutton. E.g. hold it down for 2 sec, click it twice, or something, to activate the screen.

Couple questions new to phone

Coming from the EVO I have a couple questions.
- Is there a way to get the phone when done with a call to go to the home screen? My EVO was like this and I have searched through settings and can't find anything.
- Also I drive a lot so when I press my bluetooth button on all my past phones the phone would wake up and let me make a call without touching the screen. But when I press my bluetooth button the phone doesn't even wake up. Sometimes the vlingo app will come on and tell me how many calls I have missed, but it doesn't let me make a call through the headset.
If I reach over and press the power button then the phone turns on and the vlingo starts up. I don't care for the Vlingo but will live it until I get brave enough to root to freeze it.
But is there a setting my phone will wake up the screen when I press the call button on my headset?

screen wake vibrate error?

Sometimes, when I try to wake the phone up (after pressing power button)
it lags a bit, then shows up, but not only that, it has a slight vibrate... then about 30 seconds later, vibrates again as it tries to upload something and asks me to confirm which method to use, Google Drive, Gmail, or Browser.
I tried to upload to drive, and it saved a screen cap and some other files... I presume it's "error reporting"?
am I the only one who gets this?
is there a way to turn that "feature" off? it's a bit annoying when I need to check something in a rush, and then bothers again when that upload prompt comes up...
oh and I'm running google's stock JB Rom, had the same problem with JellyBelly, and never had it when I was on ICS
I believe this happens when you push up/down at the same time. If I am wrong, it is some combination of buttons that causes it. Happens quite often when pulling from car dock. Annoying yes. I think there is a way to disable it but you will need to search or wait for someone that knows to answer.
need more high def music...
I get this aswell, not sure how to replicate it but it happens about twice per day.
Annoying!

[Q][SOLVED] Alternatives to locking the device?

My power button has finally gone to complete crap. The only way I can use it is if I pull the back off and press down at a certain angle. Which is rather annoying and not worth the troubles just to turn my screen off. It's a snap to wake my device because all I have to do is press the Home key and it pops right on. I'd like to avoid apps that put a widget on your home screen, I've already played around with those and it feels wonky to turn my screen off like that. Though if I have to, I'll deal with it. So any alternatives anyone has to offer? Perhaps maybe mapping it to the search key since I never use it?
You can use screen timeout option from settings to lock the device automateclly after 15 seconds
And if 15 seconds is long, there are apps in the store that lock the phone after 5 seconds
Yeah, I have it set to 15 seconds, but it's not quite quick enough since I usually whip it out to text then immediatly put it away. My leg likes to open a bunch of crap up and pocket dial people. I'll look into that five second app though, that sounds nice.
I use screen off and lock from market but I dont use the short cut,I just link swipe up in gestures with ADW Launcher to the app.So just one swipe of the screen switches screen off.
Well I mean if you manage to flash custom roms like CyanogenMod it have the feature "Volume rocker wake" under Display.
And if you don't want to use LockScreen, the app App Locker can lock specific apps using pin numbers.
Some kernel for Galaxy devices have the feature to touch screen to wake, but I don't know if there is one available for this device.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, but I think I finally found my resolution. I installed Holo Launcher and it let's you link your Home button to do an action if you're already on your default screen. I installed a Screen Off app and linked it with the Home button. So all I have to do is press Home twice to shut off my screen. Much nicer.

screen auto on

Hi,
anyone experience that their screen will automatically switch on by itself? i saw it a couple of times, my phone is just beside me and the screen switches on with no notifications or anything
I've had this where I will softly throw the phone onto a bed or something and the screen comes on. Or place it down on a table.
I figured something is just setting off either the power button or the double tap gesture.
I don't think too much of it really.
Dunno if software or hardware bug
