not at all. but i did notice that 450 is small and when i do 460,470. it doesnt become smaller. it actually gets bigger. so i believe the dpi is limited to 450 or something closer to. now everything looks shaper, better and u can see more in the screen.
right now im on 470 which for me 450 was to small.
i believe 470 should be around (430 real dpi). not sure why dpi is working this way at least is working.

I have successfully changed my DPI to 470. I just checked out a youtube video afterwards and noticed black bars on the sides when in full screen. I do not remember if these bars were there prior to changing my DPI. Does anyone know if the black bars are there by default due to the aspect ratio?

switch to 470 or 480. it will make things a little bigger. not sure why dpi is working this way. if u want to reset it to stock. just go into display size and move the slider

Sorry, I should've said "LCD Density". Decreasing that increases PPI and DPI - well, perceptually anyway, the LCD is still fixed at 1024x600. Given that the actual screen is 6.0" x 3.5" (7.0" diag) that means a native PPI/DPI of approx 170. I've no idea how LCD density relates to these values - can someone explain?
The wiki page nicely explains why I always feel like I can fit more "stuff" onto a Windows desktop than an OS X one though

Im using my galaxy note 4 in 460dpi and grren dialer button stretches. Will this fix the problem? Also how can i install this xml file
Hi everyone!
So, let's suppose that we have a rooted LG G3 (done with the current rooting methods), running stock ROM. Because I always like to cramp as many widgets on the home screen as possible, I want to change the DPI density of the screen (usually 3-rd party launchers allow you to only rescale the shortcuts, but not the widgets). We coud use the Texdroider app from the Play store, but it changes the DPI globally, so I'm worried it might harm the phone... Another way would be to install Xposed Framework - but can it be installed already safely at this point?
Of course ruining the stock Launcher by changing the DPI is not a problem, as I always use some 3-rd party Launchers that can handle layouts more flexibly
I'm also interested in changing LCD density on G3.
Has anyone done it?

Tnx, but I was thinking on global change. On my old GS2 it was matter of simply editing build.prop file.
My setting was 182 which was great. But I remember that if you over do it, phone will not boot and without nandroid backup it is quite risky.

I know its early days and not many people have a Note Edge yet. I really hope someone can help me out on this when they do?
My Note Edge (Korean model), does not have the Twitter, Yahoo sports ticker or the yahoo news panels. This is very frustrating because I was really looking forward to these. I wonder once its available in the US, if someone would be able to extract these panels from their roms somehow?
Im stuck with some panels showing Koren information from a source called Daum.
By the way, there's a new panel available for download - its for the S Planner, I love it! It shows upcoming appointments. Only downside is that it will only show appointment the day.
Same boat. In Korea... Daum ticker.
Hopefully something changes

For what it's worth when I had the Docomo version of the edge I rooted via some Japanese dev sites that got it done very quickly. And to add custom recovery I was able to use my own tmobile TWRP file and it added custom recovery no problem. So I'm sure it's a very similar process because they basically same sans the edge screen

The G3 had a secret menu that allowed you to change some build.prop properties or with an editor. You could simply allow dual screen on all apps which isn't allowed stock.
I edited a lot of the G3 environment through build.prop. Is there something similar for Samsung devices? Not sure if it's on all devices or not.

Not sure about deleting unless you have root access.
I am not rooted yet. I have disabled these panels in my 915S.
The apk you need to disable is 'portalservicewidget' this under the application manager > All.
If you want to disable the useless quick access panel than disable the Live UX apk.

Has anyone found useful edits within it yet for the edge?
I just purchased the LG G4 H812 (in Canada) and I love it! I found that there was a few things that I changed right away and would love to hear what you have done to make this phone even better!
Here are a few things I have done so far;
Disabled a bunch of unneeded apps
Disabled Dual Window
Disabled QuickCircle case
Disabled sound on keypress
Turn Off Mobile Data (unless no wifi - while driving etc)
Installed Launcher <3
Turned off Smart Bulletin
Turned off NFC
Use Smart Unlock (Face and On-Body)
Increased vibration strength
Enabled Voice Clarity when not using voip
Installed V10 Camera Mod apk
Installed SystemUI Tuner (ADB permissions)
Disabled "ok Google" detection from any screen
I have been getting great battery life on this phone too! This is lots of web browsing, youtube, using the camera, small amount of gaming and lots of reading on the XDA app

And depending on model it's very risky to brick the device!
Added SystemUI Tuner to get immersive mode. Had to do some ADB commands to break my device's virginity. ?
Disabled the "ok Google" detection from any screen. I think this helped with scrolling jittery lagging in some apps.
Using the built in cleaning app has helped too. I run it about once a week or after installing/removing a bunch of apps.
Now I don't swipe away my frequently used apps from the recent apps button/screen and that really speeds up launching the apps I use often.
hello, i wanted to change my aspect ration to 4:3 to have a stretched resolution like pc on my whole phone
there is a app called easy dpi changer. It changes resolution, the only thing you get black bars (not stretched res).
is there any way to make it stretched instead of black bars?
here are some screenshot how it looks like after resolution is changed.
thanks
If you stretch 4:3 to fill the 20:9 screen you'll end up cutting off part of the display.. so I think it's not an option

It needs root and I'm actually unrooted.
Other apps just works with adb, like P ixels:Resolution+DPI changer, in playstore.
