Patch 1 December ..
If you are with patch 1st October you have to install this patch first by adb

The steps i've done are:
-1 download retbr firmware
-2 renamed to "update.zip"
-3 copyed in "adb" folder
-4 opened cmd.exe with admin privileges in the adb folder
-5 rebooted my MZP into fastboot and selected recovery
-6 in recovery i've selected "apply update from adb"
-7 typed in cmd "adb devices" for see If the phone was connected
-8 typed "adb sideload update.zip"
-9 waited half an hour
-10 when finished, i've wiped my user data + personal files
-11 then rebooted.

What do you want me to say? Nobody has a clue on when it will happen, if we knew anything it would have been posted already and everyone would be hyped for it.

Motorola just said in Q4, so we have to wait for another month.

I don't believe so. But it shouldn't be a problem - they've officially confirmed that we'll have it on the Play in Q4, so it'll be here within the next four weeks.

Yeah, I'm not too worried that we aren't getting it this quarter. I'm merely curious. A soak test would mean that a roll-out would be closer to two weeks from now than to five.
Daydream VR ready certification would also be interesting. I see little reason to deny it to the Z Play, the 625 should be capable enough to do at 1080p what the 820 can do at QHD - and 1080p would be enough to be Daydream ready.

How did you get it? Are you currently breaching an NDA or do you have exclusive information about a soak test that you aren't making public for some reason?
If it's a soak test, please provide us with the about screen screenshots. If it's a closed, secret beta, provide proof or shut up for your own good.

I came across an old z2 or z3 thread the other day and someone mentioned they were able to get sony to change BUA: to yes, they just had to provide the phone info and sim unlock code. if thats true would this be possible with the z5p?

Hi! I did it with my Xperia V, I wrote Sony support and they sent a messenger to pick it up and changed it quickly and free. I was in Spain, so I hope you can do it too

Possible Moto Z2 Play design?

Did Motorola just tease the possible design of the Moto Z2 Play with the gamepad moto mod? I remade the design accordingly.

The G5 doesn't have a front facing flash. Check the one on the gamepad mod carefully and also the Moto G5 is not compatible with Moto Mods because it does not have the connectors on the back.

They obviously won't say "oh yeah, here's the new Moto Z Play design". Moto Mods, front facing flash and one microphone right beside the fingerprint scanner. This is definitely the Z2 Play.
We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Why are you so rude dude? It's just an opinion geez. The Moto Z has 2 microphones on the front, and the Z Play only has one (like the one in the picture). It will also make more sense to promote the Z Play on a gamepad because of the battery life and also "Play" as the name suggests you "Play" on a gamepad.

Anyway, you are trying to apply same logic from old Z to new Z. There no info whatsoever about hardware in new Zs. Your assumptions are based on not a single concrete evidence of any sort.

OP never said that this IS the new Z play. Just for your information: There was a big fat question mark in the title.
I think that the OP might be right. But it's also possible, that this is only a free designers interpretation of a Z (Play or whatever). We can't know at this time. So no need for any unkind discussion at this point.

He thinks that Play has literal meaning. Why he thinks that is beyond me because even original MZP wasn't intended for games.

Hi, Anybody rooted the Z2 play successfully, Please post the method. I found only one TWRP for Z2 play but it is not working for me . I have unlock the bootloader but not successful to install the TWRP.

hardware model?

So, a friend of mine is having troubles with the Google play store, so I recommended him to get a custom Rom. since the guy is an illiterate in the matter I have to do the research for him, and I really like to know if the hardware model is right before going ahead. Is this the right model or is this another phone? H-2-01? Thanks in advance

When I search the for h-2-01 I only found a thread at zukfans for the zuk z2 pro. Look at the back from his smartphone packaging. There are only 2 models, z2 (plus) and z2 pro. Or please don't be so lazy and search the internet for pictures and you will know which model it is.
