Any Way To Improve Audio Output - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers

Anyone know of an app or anything to improve the audio output? I am coming from the HTC 10 which had BoomSound and made music coming out of the headphone jack in my car sound awesome. I notice with the Note 8 the music comes out a lot softer and not as much bass or punch. Is there an app or mod to improve that on the Note 8? Thanks!

Have you tried adjusting your Music app's equalizer?
I mainly use my Bluetooth headset with my Note 8, and the absolute lowest I set it to before Silence is the loudest I would tune to listen to my music. I'd have to turn it up almost to the red bar on my S7 Edge before to get the right amount of loudness. Just throwing my 2 cents that the volume is incredibly louder from the Note 8! lol

Actually, from my note 5,i transferred my poweramp application.. That does allow you to set the levels.. Really well actually..

Use "adapt sound" in the sound and vibration settings. Makes a big difference after you've adapted the sound to your personalized settings.

I actually tried this after your post, and it made mine lower.. So I cut it off.. It would have been nice, had it worked for me..

I used it before, and tried with this device.. They've made progress, but that app is a little screwy in how it makes the phone feel (to me at least)..

Unfortunately I haven't found anything that works without root.
I held off for awhile but this weekend I rooted and added Dolby and Viper. Major improvement!

Volume+ not working on my Galaxy Nexus

Wanted to see why everyone kept talking about this app. I tried it out and there isn't any difference in audio at all. I set the speakers and headphones to max and nothing changed. I read some of the app reviews and it works on some Nexus's and not on others. Anyone know why? Does it noticeably improve sound quality?
Are you using the free version? I couldn't tell a difference on there either
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I am using the paid version and from my experiences it does increase the volume noticeably, I use the setting at +10.
@OP are you using the one from the market or the one from the website which is much newer?
Works great here! Play a song and incrementally go through the volume levels till you find a sweet spot. FYI...running the HSPA version
Yes the free one from the Market is hardly noticble as it only increases up to +4.
The one from the website goes up to +15.
Trust me it really does make a difference.
With the brightness hack and the volume tweak i`m well happy with my Nexus
Oh and i have removed the annoying search bar too. Makes the screen look a lot bigger...

Try going to settings then to sounds and then to music effects and select volume+ and see if that helps

I bought the pro version of Volume+ and still was not satisfied with the results, so I contacted Samsung and they told me to do a hard reset. I did and it helped. It formats everything and you lose your data, but it is noticeably louder, though not as loud as I would like. Now I will reload Volume+ again and see what happens. Samsung is aware of bugs in the phone, but contacting them might help too.
Did anyone else have the issue with making music tracks Max out volume over the headset for the first 10 seconds even if you dont touch the headset volume?

[INFO] Native ICS Equalizer in Play Music!

So... I am sorry if this has been discussed, but I just found an equalizer in the native music player. Everyone keeps recommending volume+ to boost the sound or a third party equalizer to get better sound, but if you go into Play Music and turn a song on, you get the screen with the album art and whatnot. I noticed the three dots at the top of the screen, so I tapped it. A menu appeared with the following options: Sound Effects, Show Options, Make instant Mix, and Settings. So I tapped on Sound effects. And there it was! I tried doing a search on equalizers, but the only results that came up were posts that had "equal" in the posting. I am not rooted, and I am completely stock. Just a heads up if anyone is irritated with the sound. Also, bass boost and 3D effect only work if you have headphones or speakers plugged in.
I didn't know if it would be better to put this thread here or in apps and themes. So I chose here.
Now if I could only find a way that makes the sound effect for incoming notification NOT completely stop or pause the music for the duration of the notification, I would be so happy!!
Sick find, didn't know about this thanks.

Yeah I just discovered this too a few days ago. It works FANTASTIC. but too bad it only effects Google music and not the entire phone audio.
Dsp manager is better. And when installed takes the place of music fx.

Not there
Anyone have any idea why this would disappear or how to force it to be there? I have a One XL running the viper rom and beats audio isn't working (yes, I've plugged in headphones) which I don't really care about, I just want this equalizer. I'm assuming the presence of beats (which is useless since it's not working) is preventing the equalizer but I don't know enough about this to be sure.

Audio Equalizer's?

Anybody running an aftermarket eq or dsp pack? Looking to improve the audio. Tried a beats apk and it would only work intermittently, switched to player pro with the dsp plugin and audio is a little better. On my one x plus i had the viper rom with beats audio and it sounded great and had a bunch of different headphone profiles built in. Id like to get something like that again. Anybody found something that works. I am rooted on the at&t model if you need to kno.

Headset volume not very loud

So I picked up my LG3 for sprint over the weekend. Loving the phone so far, coming from a HTC one M7. Definitely prefer the G3 in every aspect however one thing I noticed is the headset volume is not as loud. Which sucks because I use my phone at the gym and it's a big difference from the HTC one. Is there an app that you guys would recommend to solve this issue? I saw someone mention the Beats Audio app, but can't seem to find it...
OR am I stuck until we can get a root and load a kernel to fix this?

Which headset/earbuds are you using?
Which music player are you using?
I use PowerAmp for Android (I also purchased the unlocker).
This app has hands down the best equalizer/booster/settings for any aspect of listening to music.
Try the free version, if it has solved your problem you may consider buying the unlocker.
Hope this has helped you out

Thanks Man,
I can use the stock music player it comes with since it has an equalizer as well and noticed it does make it louder. However, I mostly stream through soundcloud and so the equalizer doesn't have an effect on that.
There are also equalizers that will alter all the sound coming out of the phone.
No matter what the audio source is.
This app does that, you might give it a try.

You can change all the audio settings using ViperAudio search XDA and you will find the page, i have used this and doubles the volume and clarity, must have android mod..
I am using klipsh ear buds and they are super loud. Hurts my ears to go past about 75%. And I don't have sensitive ears either. I have a jl w7 13.5 which blasts my ears about 2 hours a day

Nice once you have the right IRS files and your own personal preference there is no going back

I want to fix the speakers

Upon using this device for few days, I found out how bad the speakers sound. The highs are extremely muffled out. I also found why it sounds this bad. There is a significant bass boost effect already applied, and you can't un-bass-boost it. You can check this in the equalizer settings in Google Play Music. In fact, after I messed around in the eq app I downloaded, turning the highs way up, it sounds significantly better. But still, it can't give the same effect as reverting the bass boost effect. That's why I want to know if there is a way to override the factory settings and revert back the bass boost effect. And yes, I don't mind the root methods.
Try V4A?
Hey there, we're going to make some audio adjustments so sound should be a markedly better.

Very keen to know when this will be released as well. Just using basic notification sounds, I get dreadful 'hissing' as the sound file tails off. Its really bad. Vibrates like crazy watching videos. It's definitely over eq'd and/or too much gain.

Is that gonna be a software update?
Right now, we're not sure if this audio tuning will make our next MR update, but indeed it is a software update that can help with the audio.
It's been a month. Do you guys have a plan for the next update?

Does anyone here have a successfully working plan for Viper on Robin? I've ended up having to adjust the CPU through Kernel Adiutor in order to eliminate crackling/popping while on ViperAtmos Stock 4.7. I just want this phone to sound great. Otherwise, it's perfect. Thank You!

What adjustments did you make? When playing music and screen turns off music stutters horribly. Unbearable.
