The first Pixel was never released in Sweden and it looks like it will be the same for Pixel 2. I will visit New York on October 22 to 27. Do anyone know if the Pixel 2 xl will be available in stores in New York? It looks like Costco might have them, but only the Verizon model. Where can I get an unlocked version?

Chances of them having them in stock are probably slim.

But the pop-up shops are just for testing the devices hands on, they don't sell anything. Or have I misunderstood that?

You'll have to order the device from the American Google store and have it shipped to the address you'll be staying at. The black Pixel 2 XL, 128GB ships by October 22. So if you're staying with family, order it now and pick it up when you visit them. If you're staying at a hotel, order a day before you arrive and it'll be delivered once you're there.
If you wanted a white one, or a 64GB model, then you're out of luck, since those don't ship until after you're gone. If you want to buy one in a store then the best way to get one is to buy one in the Verizon store. It's the same unlocked phone sold by Google, meaning you'll be able to use it in Sweden. You just won't be able to unlock the bootloader. (Unless someone releases a tool).

I will stay at a hotel, and the Pixel 2 XL 128 GB is fine. But I'm not sure how I can order since my Google account already have a billing and shipping address in Sweden. I guess I have to create a new temporary account and specify the hotel as billing and shipping address, but that seems a bit hazardous... It's a quite expensive device.
I device with locked bootloader is not interesting for me.
I'm starting to get really annoyed at Google! The canceled the Nexus product line that was a great reference implementation that you could flash and do whatever you want with. Instead they launch the Pixel device that is both very exepensive and also only available in a small part of the world. I can live with the higher price, but as it is not and have been since Nexus 6P/5X I cannot even buy an unlocked referecene phone from Google any more.
Is their goal to loose their leading role in mobile development?
Anyway, thank you for the help.

I'm in the States, but I ordered the phone and used my brother's shipping address. Seems like you should be able to do the same with your hotel address. The only thing I would be worried about is that it is delivered while you are at the hotel.

I would order it directly if I could, but I cannot order a device from any of my Google accounts. I don't want to create a "fake account" to be able to buy it. This is ridiculous.

Why can't you order mate? I'm able to just navigate to the American Google store and order any device they have on there. Just needs a shipping address in the USA. What issue are you running in to?

I realized that I can change my shipping address as you say, but to order a device for 950 $ and rely on an exact shipping date seems risky.
After having bought Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 5x, and Nexus 6P I guess I'm not loayal enough to be "allowed" to buy a Pixel...

You might be in actual luck. The Google pop-up store that's opening this week in NYC, according to the article, will be selling all the new devices as they get released. So that means you might be able to get an XL when you get into the city in a few days.

Talked to a google rep - it will be like you are buying from a third party and not from google and most likely the Verizon version. No finance, extended care, or free mini.

I just order my Extended battery for Sprint Galaxy Nexus and paid only shipping, which is almost $7.00.
Once you log in to your Sprint account, go to buy accessory, and choose Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Once you select the phone, The first thing shown will be an offer for the free extended battery with the code.

I went to the site and there was only a promo code to get a free battery with the purchase of a Galaxy Nexus. (The code was BATTERY1.) So I called telesales and was told that you had to buy or upgrade to the GNex between Aug 3rd and Aug 13th, so I wasn't eligible. Does anyone have a different code or different info?
Edit: Just called back and the lady placed the order no questions asked.

Had exactly the same experience, bought mine in May as well. Called telesales and told them that I was trying to take advantage of the free promotion on the website, but that it was making me reenter my zip code from the shopping cart and then it would make me start all over. They forwarded me onto another sales department and they processed the order for me. Just had to pay the shipping/tax. Didn't ask about 2, they weren't overly friendly. But one for ~$12 is not too shabby.

ust ordered mine as well. I didn't purchase the Nexus new, I had traded my Evo lte for it. Online when I tried to purchase the battery it kept sending me to purchase the device. Called tele sales and the said it was like $12 shipping + $1 something for tax. I explained that online it was only $6.50 shipped. So he gave me a discount...$9.66 total so I'm happy!

Got one as well through telesales. Also told them the online shipping price was $6.50. They matched it, but said it would be by ground shipping, 2-7 business days. Fine by me!
i had to call 888 876 8381 to get help and be able to get the deal. I'm not sure if everyone can use this number, but try it. I'm a EVP member and i think that's a # for EVP help.
I tired 888 882 4030 and the telesales number. Both of those those numbers wouldn't let me do the deal. 2 reps said I was not illegible because I did not buy a phone from sprint directly which was what the first guy said, and I did not but it within august 3-13 which the first and second guy said. Which are both true.
So i kept calling trying to get a representative that would let me do it because the deal says current user of the phone, which i am. This is my daily phone.
So 3rd time the a rep told me to call the 888 876 8381 so they could help me buy it online. That number could not help me buy it online, but was going to let a telesale person know i wanted to buy the battery with the promotion and i was able to receive the promotion and i needed help because online shopping was not working.
So telesale person took my information and i bought 1 for 12.95 with no issues after using the 888 876 8381.
I asked if the deal was for multiple battery's and he said no just one per deal. So cant hurt to ask because i see some people got 2 for the price of only S&H but YMMV with phone sales reps.
Hope this helps people with issues.

Awesome news, I had no clue. Apparently that also applies for preorders through Fi
It actually says
Terms and Conditions
Offer applies to redemption of one Daydream View VR headset with the pre-order of a Pixel phone on the Google Store in the U.S. starting on 10/4/2016 and available while supplies last. After a qualifying purchase of a Pixel phone, a promo code will be emailed within approximately 4 weeks from the Pixel phone shipment date. The promo code must be used on the Google Store before 12/31/2016 and will expire after this date. The promo codes are not stored value, are for one-time use only, cannot be transferred to other users, cannot be exchanged for cash or cash equivalent, and have no balance after one-time use. Google Inc. is not liable for lost or stolen promo codes, or for expired promo codes that are not redeemed before 12/31/2016. To be eligible, user must be a US resident, age 13 or older, and have or activate a Google Payments account. Terms subject to applicable laws. Void where prohibited.

All models get this daydream offer? I haven't seen any emails about it yet after I ordered earlier.
I'm about to order a 128GB Pixel XL and Daydream VR (I missed out on the free promo). If I have it shipped to me in Texas, it will cost me over $78 in taxes, almost enough to pay for the Daydream! If I can get them shipped to my brother in New Hampshire, there will be no sales tax and he can re-ship them to me for under $10.
Does anyone know if I can do this on the Google Store? It seems like it would be the same as if I bought something as a gift; use my card and billing address, but use his shipping address. According to this: https://support.google.com/store/answer/6160272?hl=en you're charged tax for the state it's shipped too, and says nothing about the state it's billed to. Were you able to enter your billing and shipping addresses separately on the Google waitlist? That's basically what I'm trying to find the answer to. I'm eligible for the T-Mobile $325 credit for the phone, but hope to save the exorbitant Texas sales tax while I'm at it.

I pre ordered a 64gb Pixel XL black. I show a shipping date of Oct 17th. My bank account was charged this morning for for the phone. Is anyone else having this issue? I should not have been charged Until the phone ships.
The amount is reserved from your credit card, and charged just before the phone is shipped. You won't be charged by your bank until the phone is shipped.
That is the way it has always been. Yes my account was charged for the total amount. I have checked my shipping status and nothing has changed. It could be the phone has shipped. I had read here on XDA that someone had indicated their shipping status had changed to shipped.
£799 isn't for me, it doesn't offer enough change to warrant that............Mate 10 looks more interesting
I just ordered my Pixel XL 2. Have not checked bank charge online yet to see if they billed card yet
I ordered but have not gotten a initial hold charge on my card...should I be worried

I am sending my Pixel XL in after I receive the new one. Google is offering the highest trade value @ $400 verses $300 on Verizon.
Whenever I've ordered a phone, I have never gotten charged until it shipped. My galaxy s7 edge preorder was that way. I got a shipping notice within a day I think? Anyway, *hopefully* that means they are shipping early! I would be thrilled. This sammy phone needs to gtfo... Anyway, I checked my finance site, shows pending still. Not sure if the financing deal will work the same though. I would think it would though in case you decided to cancel the order. I guess we'll see! Update this for sure if you get a shipped notice!

I have been using swappa sense 2012. I just sold my PixelXL 32gb for $430. - shipping not much difference. I will trade in next time.

I signed up for the trade in, but I'll see what my 128GB Pixel XL is going for on Swappa and eBay before I decide to send it to Google or not. I'd like to sell my cases, screensavers, and original Daydream with the phone, and of course Google won't give me anything for them.
It's not a charge. It's a pending authorization to make sure the funds are in your account. This usually drops off in 2 to 10 business days if the phone has not shipped by then. It's a very common practice I don't know why people think it's going to ship early.

You sure it won't mess up your order if you don't follow through with the trade-in? I called and was told it would. You might want to check it out.

What did they tell you exactly? Since you don't send in the trade in until after you receive the new phone, I would think that all they can do is void the trade in deal. If I can sell it for more than the trade in, that is what I would want anyway.

The recovery kit has already been shipped to me. It should be here tomorrow. I should know more then.. They said if I don't follow through with the trade-in my order would be be voided. I was shocked! He said, I'd have to cancel my order and re-order if I was going to sell my phone to my friend.

I don't really believe that, because my order was placed on the 4th with trade-in. My order shipped on the 30th. Estimated delivery of Nov 4-6. I need that new phone in my hands before I even think of sending my XL back, and that will be over the 30 days. So if I have the 2XL in my hands, how would me not following through with the trade-in affect my order? Doesn't make sense.. 30 days starts when you receive the new phone; your order can't be affected by you sending/not sending your old phone in.

I am. $400 for a used 32 GB Pixel XL Black was too much to pass up. $500 for the new pixel is fine with me. I wasn't even considering it until I saw how much they are offering for 1st gens.

I don't believe that either. When checking out with the trade-in, it was almost like a separate line item or transaction. You have to pay full price up front for the phone and I really doubt they would void your purchase after already shipping your new Pixel XL 2.
If I had a bunch of extra accessories, I'd definitely try to sell it as a bundle for more.
Just took advantage of the TMobile BOGO on the V30+. I'll also be eligible for the LG $400 prepaid card. That'll pay for the down payments on both devices and T-Mobiles prepaid card will pay off one of the devices. ?
I was considering the same, buy you have to add a new line of service, so I don't have a need for that yet. But this is a great deal!

I was under the impression that if you took advantage of the BOGO offer, you could not use the $400 rebate as well on another LG product. Am I incorrect about that?

I didn't see anything stating the likes of that. The BOGO is through TMobile and the $400 is through LG. 2 separate agreements.

The $400 TOS agreement says you can't use it with the 2nd BOGO phone.
LG is probably financing the carrier deals, so technically it's all through LG?
Read point #2. The second phone in a BOGO deal is not eligible to be purchase #2 for the $400 gift card.
But point #1 says you can buy ANOTHER LG PRODUCT and still qualify for the $400 gift card.
Just can't be a BOGO phone, because you are already getting that FREE. You have to pay full price for TWO devices to get the $400 gift card.

You can only receive one prepaid card. Through LG. That doesn't count on the one from T-Mobile.
That's stating you can't go buy 2 other LG products and get 2 x $400 cards.....?

Read point #2. The 2nd phone may not eligible since you already got it for free (if the BOGO offer is really being done through LG).
But it says an "LG BOGO" offer. You need to make sure the deal through T-Mobile is through T-Mobile or is it really through LG?
I suspect it's through LG. I may be wrong.

This BOGO is through TMobile. That's why TMobile issues the card? Hmm. I've done the BOGO several times with T-Mobile and always received the maugactures promo offer on top of TMobile. IDK. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
I'll return in 6-8 weeks to chime in. ??

I got the impression that the Second BOGO unit can't be treated as purchasing of Second Unit of LG in order to get $400 LG Gift Card as you already treated it as BOGO promo.
But you can buy any other LG product (mobile or electronics) as a Second Purchasing unit, you may also buy the 3rd unit of V30 if you want to, to get $400, I might be wrong , since English is not my first language.
The Wording is confusing but I have ordered from T-Mobile by adding the line

Don't know. The wording is kind of tricky. We will see when I submit mine in 15 days.
OK, just placed order for LG V30 US998 (carrier unlocked version) on B&H website. So, I'll qualify for the $400 gift card from LG when I order the 2nd one -- and I have 45 days from purchase of the 1st device to buy the 2nd device. (You have to buy the 1st device by December 2.) So, if they ship on December 5 (as predicted right now), I'll have this first one in hand in less than 2 weeks.
I don't expect bootloader unlock and root until end of December, maybe into January... If it's 6 weeks like the LG G6, will be mid-January. So, this first one may not be my daily driver, but I can mess around with it.
Then, within 45 days (probably about the time the LG V30 gets root), I'll order the 2nd one and get an even later "manufacture date" (December or even January manufacture date). THAT one will be my phone, and this first one will probably be my wife's. I'll have to order the 2nd one by January 10, if my time limit is 45 days from when I placed the first order.
Another reason I'm waiting to order the 2nd one is LG has not yet officially announced this open market US998 model. So, we don't REALLY know the specs. I'm hoping for a V30+ option... If so, that will be my 2nd LG V30, which I will use as my daily driver. I know B&H Photo has been listing this US998 for like THREE months now (I posted a screenshot in THIS thread in early September), and only in 64GB. But LG has still NOT officially announced this "open market" US998 phone, and no other sites except for B&H list it, even though there WILL be other authorized retailers. I'm hoping for a V30+ surprise when LG does officially announce/release that model.

Damn, I'm jealous.
There are no such kick ass deals in my country.
Looks like the v30 community is well established already.
Enjoy the lgv30s chazzmatt.
Just bought two cheapy cricket lg stylo 3 phones for my kid and a replacement backup phone. Didn't buy it for custom ROMs I bought it because it was $30.... but the phone has virtually zero community.
The stylo 3+ has a small community, but apparently that does not apply.
My 2015 Moto X Pure is finally dying, and I've been eyeballing the LG V30 as a replacement (need an SD card, headphone jack, and flagship specs). But I don't want a carrier-branded phone, since I'm kind of married to my custom roms and Substratum themes. The official U.S. LG V30 website is interesting. If you go there (http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/v30) and click on the BUY NOW button, you get a ton of options for mostly carrier-branded models, and a few interesting "coming soon" options.
The B&H preorder button that's live is for the V30, but there's a shaded out button for the V30+ instead. Amazon has two buttons as well, for the V30 and V30+, but both are still disabled. There's a single V30 option for an "unlocked" model, but it too is disabled for now. Personally, I'm waiting to see the V30+ options from Amazon and B&H. I hope they're the open market versions. I won't place an order until things are better clarified. But I can only hope my trusty Moto holds out until then...

I got everyone beat: used my insurance on a Lumia 950. Paid my $150 deductible for a V30 because they had no more lumias.
November 2015 phone for an October 2017 phone for $150...and to top it off, LG gave me the 2nd year promise, LOL...

You paid $150 + the insurance cost monthly for as long as you've had the phone. Which appears to be 2 years. The cheapest insurance with T-Mobile is $10/month I believe. That's $240. $240 + $150 is $390. Plus however much you paid for the Lumia at that time.
Imagine me at a party.....
