Will my device bootloop after flashing miui global from a custom rom? - Xiaomi Mi 6 Questions & Answers

I have this phone but when I got it first it had an unlocked bootloader and a fake rom so I had to flash a custom rom then I faced the gamepad issue so I wanted to go back to miui global but my friend said that I can't directly flash miui global from TWRP if I do it like I would end up with a bootloop. So I didn't try it. I wanted to know what I need to flash after it with explanation and download links. Thanks for reading.... (HELP)

Well it didn't bootloop

Stucked in Fastboot mode

Hi Guys,
I am stucked at fastboot mode afterb trying to flash back to China Rom,how to get out of it?
Thanks in advance.
Mi max 3 anti roll back, you mus flash last version to unbrick your device
1. This is not the right section for this question.
2. if you came from 8.8.23 China Beta you have Anti-rollback, which means that to move to china stable you would have to wait for the next china release and flash it from the updater app and not from fastboot. I know its annoying but its safe. If you are stuck in fastboot try flashing latest 8.8.23 China Beta from mi flasher
3. if you came from 8.8.9 China Beta, Try flashing 8.8.9 again
This happened me too today. My phone arrived with the fake global rom 9.6.4. I was flashing official Chinese rom v9.6.11.0 and got a message saying flash successful, however a window also popped up saying MiFlash stopped working and my phone was stuck on the fastboot screen then.
If you find a solution to this problem I would appreciate it and vice versa.

1- flash and boot to twrp
2- format data then wipe (system and cashes)
3- flash xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 or any release before that and reboot
4- use mi flashtool to flash any stable before 9.6.12 or beta before 8.8.17 and choose wipe all and lock in mi flashtool ( this is very important to unlock it your self later with official permission)
Goodluck

yes, most of the unlocked phones from retailers are unlocked without official authorization and that is the main reason for ADB/fast boot fails in some cases , I have MM1, MM2 and now MM3 and I know this by experience.

hi, you enlighten me so much. can i ask more? now what rom do u use in mi max 3? and why?
So to rectify, I tried to flash the official China ROM V.9.6.11 again. It did not flash properly again the 2nd time.
I then asked it to "flash and lock". Official China ROM flashed now and operating on my phone.
My plan is now to apply to have the phone OFFICIALLY unlocked, as it was obviously unofficially unlocked to put the fake Global ROM on it by the vendor, which caused a problem being stuck in Fastboot.
I do not mind waiting the 2 weeks, and once unlocked I will either put the Xiaomi.EU rom on it, or hopefully the official Global ROM will be released by that time.

You must relock and unlock with official mi permission to avoid fastboot flashing issues.
Where I can download the official rom to use mui flash?
Where i can find an explanation to use mui flash? Cause after lock the boot loader the phone is in bootloop...

What do you actually flash in step 1?
Is step 3 really necessary? Why can't I flash from the fake ROM directly to 9.6.11?
Thanks, man!

in step (1) flash official twrp ( I used minimal adb v1.4.3), step (3) is to have correct firmware and avoid mi flasher fail and boot loop ( many guys try flashing directly from fake rom to China but ended up with bootloops)

Alright, so I am on China stable 9.6.11 with TWRP (not Xiaomi original recovery). When I flashed my latest ROM, I chose "clean all and lock (bootloader)" per your instructions and I applied for offical bootloader unlocking by downloading Xiaomi flash unlocking. I still have 500+ hours, but I was told when my bootloader is unlocked eventually, my user data will be erased again.
So will it be a better idea to flash global stable ROM first or wait for the official bootloader unlocking then flash global stable ROM?
Question: I have China Stable 9.6.12.0 on mine Max3. If I want to install the Global Version should I have to wait for Global Version equal version (9.6.12.0) or later? Os there any suggestion to flash the incoming Global 9.6.7.0 on mine (ARB suposed to be implemented in mine version)?

flashing the Indian fastboot rom without bricking the device

My redmi 6 pro had a chinese rom out of the box. Can I unlock bootloader and flash the Indian fastboot rom without bricking the device? As I live out of china and I rather have a non-chinese rom.
I have the same question.

Flashing indian rom will lock the bootloader. You can unlock again after flashing but, many user faced 30 days unlock waiting time for the second unlock. Keep that in mind,
And if you prefer global rom, use xiaomi.eu rom.

I heard that it may brick the device. What about that? As I don't have access to any official repair store. Btw I need the chinese fastboot rom incase anything goes wrong but I can't find it as it's not in the downloads page(only india rom). What can be done?
I want the eu rom flashing process to be completely safe and reversable in the future. But I don't have any china fastboot rom.

Use this tool for stock rom.
Don't relock the bootloader
If you lock it when there is global rom , it will brick .
https://xiaomi.eu/community/ or https://one.revtechs.me/en/index
roms are better than stock.

In these threads you should find the answer to your question.
Also I advise you to NEVER BLOCK THE BOOTLOADER if there is a rom other than the original in the phone, go brick.
To be able to block it, make sure that the ROM with which it was born is installed in the phone (same region).

Question Any way to flash stock ROM if my phone is on "anti:1"

All the stock MIUI rom available have an anti-rollback lv 0. Am I basically SOL until Xiaomi releases a rom that is anti-rollback lv 1 or is there a workaround? My phone is the global version if that helps.

I think I have the same phone as you do. My last lifeline was to try and flash the Pixel boot.img and see if that would at least get me recovery. No luck. Not really sure what to do at this point, but I think that it's the anti-rollback that may be causing a problem for me as well - just not sure what else is on there that could prevent it from accepting and booting a flash recovery. None that I've tried (lineage, pixel, orange, or twrp) work.
I think I'm just going to set the phone aside for a few months and hope that something develops in the meantime. Right now the phone is stuck in fastboot and is still a recognized device. I'd hate to blackscreen it by experimenting.
Just an aside, at this point I'd be very cautious about trying to flash a custom ROM to any handset that's been OTA upgraded to Android 12/Miui 13.
I gave it one last try using zgfg's recommendation here:
Bootloop Fastboot (stock) / Phone locked for security reason (Xiaomi.eu)

Downloaded the -fastboot EU ROM which came with it's own .batch file in the archive. It pretty much wiped everything from the phone and installed a functioning version of A12/Miui13 and the handset is working again.
It's the same with me *anti 1*, I wanted to install miui eu. Is it smart, if anyone can give some advice. Thanks and regards .

Just like Mthw, i was on MIUI 13.0.10 EEA and anti 1, gone back and forward between stock (only used stock fastboot) and custom, only problem was trying to flash other roms from stock, without first flashing eu fastboot.
