Have any of you experienced lower volume at the beginning of a call and then a sudden higher volume while call volume is at 100%? I'm asking cause I have and I would like to know if there's any way to fix it, it's kind of annoying....
have a new case , that has holes pointing fwd at the bottom , the sound is better but still tinny compared to my V20, but for 79 pounds ,, im not moaning

This happens when the screen turns off while on a call. When your screen is on, the sound is soft, but as soon as you turn the screen off, the sound is crazy loud, and clear. [emoji57] Why they would do something like that is beyond me! It doesn't even make any sense anyway! [emoji849]

The speakers are incredible! Surprised by how small and still powerful a speaker could be. At first look you are hoing to think "they probably suck!" but very soon you find out they are very bassy and clear
Much better than the Sony Z3 and surprisingly loud and clear.

OMG its so night and day. I used to have to embarrassingly ask people to speak up because my phone has volume issues. The G5 speakerphone and earpiece volume is refreshing. LOL
i'm glad they did not hop onto the water proof hype train.
even though you will hear some noise when you listen to stuff on max volume this speaker is performing insanely well.
sadly in gaming i tend to close the holes with my hand. i guess there will be upcoming modules that will boost the speaker even further.. keep in mind the speaker is part of the modules.
Very happy with the speaker as well. I'm surprised by how rich the sound is. This definitely isn't your average phone speaker.
Very happy with the speaker and speakerphone.
It vibrated in louder settings and made it feel very cheap I'm disappointed with LG with this! The whole chin chamber rattled. Volume and sound though was very good.
Its pretty good but at loud volume it does vibrate,

Love the phone, but it vibrates at high volume. It's a bit like holding a jar full of angry wasps.
However I've now put the phone in a bumper case, and it's much much better..
I didn't think my G5 would have such a great speaker, but man I was pleasantly surprised. The speaker is both loud AND clear.
Agreed, really loud and nice.
i come from z5c and i miss its sound. maybe less strong but my g5 above half volume bar does vibrate and thus generating a loud noise. maybe a fault with my magic slot?
The the quality rocks compared to my S7. Don't expect wonders but i was really surprised.
Even better with Viper4Android.
When using youtube, anything below 50% is hardly audible. Is it just me or others are also experiencing such problem?

Yeah i think thats true . But the phone gets really loud from step to step in the last volume steps . Loud enough . I compared it to my old Note 4 with Volume boost and it was noticable louder . So i am really satisfied .
One of the best single speakers in a phone.
Is it significantly louder than the Galaxy S7? How's it compare to the LG G4?
I went from an LG G4 (which has an amazing speaker) to the Galaxy S7 and everything about the phone has been a disappointment. I'm returning it and gonna get the LG G5. Does it have any bootloop issues? That's why I'm in this situation of choosing a new phone in the first place, and why I didn't go to straight to the G5. I dare say the G4 was better than this S7 (before it bootlooped...). Didn't realize Samsung took out the IR sensor or had such a **** speaker. Also didn't realize just how dependent I have become on having a removable battery. Speaker is important because I watch Netflix and Amazon Prime in bed with my fan on.
I barely use my loudspeaker but it already sounds blown out at 75% not happy at all.

Speaker is surprisingly loud, and at max volume, does not distort.
No distortion at maximum level what so ever, and it is quite loud. I can hear cleary while driving if I have music going through over the road noises. In my bedroom the quality is great, can hear my phone blasting from downstair.

That's great, most phones have distortion at max level. It seems huawei knew the sweet spot of speakers volume.
Speaker is not as good as the one in the Honor 7. Audio quality by headphone is awful.
It matters a lot if youre music maniac. I listen to music almost everytime. So its important to me that even if I play the song on speakers, it doesnt distort on high volumes.

I've read so much negativity about the speaker I was expecting to be really disappointed. It's actually not that bad at all. I'm happy with it.

The volume on the front firing Nexus 6P speakers are much louder. Just got the Honor 8 today but the volume is a bit weak for my taste, for the rest its a great device (besides eMUI).

For me personally, it is loud enough. And I do not have any knowledge on the loudness of 6P.

Bass is so critical for me, but since I don't use loud speakers can you tell how is music through headphones?!
Thank you for your comments regarding the Honor 8's speakerphone. When you are playing back music or using the speakerphone, you can increase the volume by pressing the volume up button. Please try playing a loud ringtone to test whether there is a problem with the audio source. If there is, it is recommended that you change to a different music file then try again. If the problem persists after the steps detailed above, please back up important data and take the receipt issued with your phone to an authorized Huawei service center for repair or call into our customer service team at +1-844-524-6667 and they can try to help fix your issue with the speakerphones volume. We will forward your information to the product development team for them to review and analyze. We appreciate the feedback. (NS)
Clear sound from the speaker, loud enough too. I only use the speaker to listen to youtube clips so the lack of bass is really no problem, after all how can a small phone produce bass anyway....if i want better quality i just use my headphones.
Loud enough for me personally. I still haven't received B131 so I know that's went to improve quality, but it's no replacement for front firing speakers.
Basically, I'd advise you use proper speakers!
speakers get loud enough to listen to music in a big room

What did you say?
Sounds like me and my wife. Thanks for commenting - I'm looking into a new phone, and appreciate hearing this. Seems like all everyone wants to talk about are the camera, videos, speed, how good it looks, etc. Reviews leave out how well it works as a phone.
See gsmarena review on loudspeaker
The sound seems perfect
It's the best and clearest speakerphone I have used. I even use it in my car in preference over the factory hands-free.
Played music using my S8 Active (assuming they are alike) next to iPhone X, the loud speaker of the iPhone X was way better.
Can't say is perfect. As ex user, of htc phones with boomsound, this speaker sounds like a joke to me, sorry but I had to say it. I also read that, the speaker is ****ty and will continue to be with the next flagships because it's hard to make good speaker with water resistance. So we have to deal with it. Also depends how you hold the phone, for example when I play games I don't have any sound because of the way I hold the phone hand is always on the speaker and I can't hear a single sound.
My iPhone 6 had better sound. S8 sounds small and tinny.
Try these settings and tell me if you like them more. Volume is decreased but sound quality is miles better in my opinion.
any idea what is the RMS rating of the speakers? will the S9 be better?
i don't think its very loud at all
Hey guys! Does anybody get any crackles or rattling at max volume when listening to a podcast or when using the speaker during a call?
awesome work
My experience with the speaker is different contrary to what most people on YouTube says. My S8+ sounds pretty audible even in relatively crowded places, sometimes I even had to lower the volume. Clarity is acceptable too. But it's not the best speaker by any means, just isn't as bad as what people says. Mine's Exynos variant.
Hii
Thanks!
My speaker seems clear but I do prefer the stereo speakers on s9

Yes i have same issue my laud speaker sounds crackle when i listen to ws vns, or watching youtube videos were people are talking.
My speaker is.. different than 99% of the answers.
Mine is actually amazing. Bass response is there, treble, mids, and it's pretty loud too.

loud and clear
Speakerphone is sufficiently loud. Lacking in bass/lower frequencies. Nougat update removed the audio wizard that allowed you to tweak the sound frequency bands.
After handling the phone in the shower with fingers with soap - not much - bubbles got into the speaker and after 10 hours it still hasn't recovered. Sounds horrible, I mean there's sound but it's distorted and I don't think it's as loud as before. Going to the store to test out a new model and if a speakerphone can't recover 10 hours after being lightly exposed to hand soap bubbles, then maybe this phone isn't for me.
For me, its good, sound is clear and for voice is just fine. Music/videos also work fine but sometimes equalizer doesn't seem to work that well. For the price, I think its ok.

I wasn't removed, its under Settings->Sound&Vibration->AudioWizard
Loud speaker is decent, but the headpiece is crap. I have mine on max, and often at crowed environment like restaurant, I struggle to hear. If it at noisy environment such as stadium or bar, forget about hear anything over the headpiece.
AudioWizard on ZE553KL is useless... There isn't enough step of EQ band to adjust anything really meaningful out of the POS. Don't get me wrong, I like my phone much more than the Samsungs... But the audio quality is something I tend to forget and will never consider to use as music player.... Unless you play games or watch supported movies, Dolby Atom is useless... Despite I haven't upgrade to Nougat yet, it a function I won't miss.

Yep, the loudness is pretty decent and clear, though the back of my phone resonates too.
I've noticed lately that when I am using my phone for a call on speakerphone, the other party cannot hear what I am saying. They say that I cut out constantly. it must be something wrong with the noise cancellation, maybe it is canceling out parts of my voice. anyhow, I've seen other people with issues similar on the Internet, is anyone else having this issue? Microphone seem to work well for voice dictation, this issue only occurs during a speaker phone call.
i am 60% deaf...
so custom ROM's that allowed sound mods / audio + music enhancing kits like Ainur Sauraon, Viper & DolbyAtmos available for my S8+ were actually a boon...
is there anything out there for S10+?
any help on this from folks here, who have actually tested this will be a big +
thanks...

yeah... i've done that already... however the amplification is only marginal, especially when compared to what DolbyAtmos has on Nougat on my S8+
looks like there is no answer for this one
