I recently installed the rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859196) with no problems. But im having some issues (maybe minors)...
1.after while of letting the phone in standby, the clock tells the wrong time by a few minutes and i have to set the time again
2. Xiaomi account gives me constant network error (phone data and wifi). I can use wifi/data fine with other apps and browser
3. Phones date reste itself to year 1970 constatly after put it to actual date
Any advice
Ps: should i leave on the usb debug feature?
There is this miui also.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056460
Could try it

Always leave on USB debugging. It let's you side load apps
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Update: the date/year reset happens each time the phone rebots and the actual network error is because of that, when I change the date back to 2013 i dont get the "network error" on the apps
I dont have the miui toolbox app.. How do i get it? Cant find it

You have to flash a MIUI.us rom. MIUIAndroid doesn't have the toolbox.
ok so my title isn't all that clear I have a sprint note 4, the boyfriend got a att note 4. I came here to find the root for it and of course, there isn't one. I want to add a few apps to his phone that require root, even without root is there a work around? Specifically I want to add titanium backup and an ad blocker. Getting rid of all the bloatware would be a bonus too. But if I can add tibu then I can freeze the bloat. Thanks guys! I know nothing about att as I'm strictly a sprint girl.
So far there is a temp. root called KingRoot you can find a link there, also that root only works on kitkat 4.4 so you/him would have to downgrade and start fresh, that can be found here.
Of course with the temp root, it deactivates after a reboot, I believe a user stated that after a certain amount of time without reboot it deactivated (not positive).. Also many users stated that removing the bloatware or any other apps through titanium restored itself after reboot, same happened with me when I tried, I think one user stated that he removed the apps and it stayed gone after reboot..
More on the status of a permanent root for AT&T can be found here, I recommend starting from the end and working back if you want to read! Good Luck!

Yesterday a new update appears in LG G3's Update Center. It has the name Compatibility Patch (20160722). It says that is a patch that it is important for apps compatibility or something like that. I downloaded the update and then I had to restart the device in order to install the update. Do you know anything about this update?
I have to reboot after patch installation over and over again
I use fulmics 5.3 and this patch came out. I installed it, no issue.

I use stock ROM. Patch installed but patch reboot notification still present after multiple reboots.
Same here. Shows up after every reboot.
I found a solution myself.
My device was encrypted. So I removed the encryption, rebooted the device started new and Taaa-Daaa!
Patch notification has gone.
Mine's encrypted, too. Sad, this seems to be the solution.

if you have Titanium Bkup installed then patch should have been auto freezed by TB. You can have look into it. Another thing go to app Updates see under IDLE APPS your Compatibility patch should show button "Enable", don't enable this button. This is for information to all.

In this case u had to freeze the comp patch app in titanium bk. no issues. See above my post.
not sure if that's related
how would Titanium bkup help against a bug in the UI system?
other user may want to disable any administrative access software (like Mcafee or AVG anti virus) they have installed before enabling this patch.

Installed onto D850/852. Now unable to sign onto home wi-fi. Rebooting server does not fix it. Would like to remove this p.os. compatibility patch. Ideas?
You can try my above post and for Comp patch notification you can disable by going into settings ... app... notification Tab ... disable all notification for this Comp patch, you won't get notification any more for this, that is what I did.
First freeze this patch in Titanium BkUp.

Thanks to JIT1108 and others for suggestions. Will root phone soon and try the Titanium backup. Looks useful for purging carrier bloatware too, which I didn't know about.
Yesterday I have installed those Compatibility patch on my D855 (fulmics 5.3).. And this was a mistake.
Yes, I can confirm that the phone charges much more faster with the patch installed..
But the battery is discharging also very fast now! Faster than before.
Anyone have an idea how to uninstall this thing, or bring back the previous version of the apk file
which was in the system before this upgrade, without hard reseting or reflashing entire phone again?
Thnx in advance.
BTW.. TitaniumBackup can not uninstall this, shows only info: "the app can't be uninstalled, because there is no apk file".
And the second question..
Can this apk file be safely deleted manual from the system?
Or anyone can upload from own phone the original app: com.lge.systemupdater from the fulmics 5.3?

First of all you know that this is an official patch from LG so no harm to instal. But if any one have issues after installing it like you said battery discharging faster and so I really have no idea about it is really happening due to patch or so. If you want to remove this patch there is no way unless you do something and screwing up your phone. The most simple way what i did was freeze the application from T.B. and turn off the application's notification by going to the settings...apk..comppatch..notification...disable all notification and you are done. And ha don't do any stupid thing by touching anything to system files you will end up in boot loop so careful. My above method is simple and only way to come out. Those who want to keep the patch there is no harm they can keep as it is the patch.

Honestly?
This is no answer to my questions.
- Yes.. I know that is from LG.
- Yes it is a way to remove (always is a way)
- Freezing does NOTHING in my case - the patch was already installed, the app was autofreezed in the TB, there was no any nags, notificacions etc.
- Why should I not touch anything? heh.. mega-lol
- Your method does nothing but freezing the already installed app. Means: the patch is applied already - so.. a bit to late for freezing.
- "..there is no harm.." - heee?! What?! No harm? Then how to describe so fast battery discharging? Feature? Bonus? eeeeeeehhh.. Maaaannn..
Ok.. back to the clue..
Freezing is not a fix.. in my case. Is jus a workaround and not so very functional.
Update:
Problem solved - I do a dirty reflash of Fulmics 5.3 and this crappy patch is gone.
My phone (battery) works now ok.
BTW..
LG should inform the people what exactly this "compatibility update" do in the phone(s)!
They should give us an option to uninstall/remove them.
But.. they do an piece of crap.. as usual.
Hi
Recently I bought an A5 (2017) cell phone, but I'm facing terrible performance issues (lagging, delays, crashes and noise during sound playback).
Additionally I get the message that com.android.providers.downloads.ui is causing performance issues. (unfortunately I'm not allowed to post screenshots.)
Interestingly when I use the "Device Maintenance" in Setting and clean the RAM, the problem is gone. I tried to close the apps one by one to find out the one that is causing the problem, but I wasn't able to do so.
I tried freezing com.android.providers.downloads.ui by cmd appops set <package_name> RUN_IN_BACKGROUND ignore and the problem was solved, but when I wanted to use Play Store, it said that I had to enable Downloads app.
Any help would be appreciated.

I did wipe cache and it seemed to fix the problem but after a while the problem was back. I can't root my phone and there is no option for wiping dalvik in recovery mode.
About last option, does flashing stock ROM delete my apps and data? And where can I download stock ROM?

Flashing the ROM won't delete anything on your phone.Visit SamMobile and look for your model to get the correct ROM(Instructions can be found on the site)Also click thanks!?
You have been deleting things. This has caused the "com.android.providers.downloads.ui" error. Use Odin to flash your firmware to restore everything to normal. When you flash the firmware, choose home_csc to avoid deleting your data. Otherwise you will lose everything

I don't know how you got that I've been deleting things, maybe because of my bad English, but I haven't.
Actually, I started to disable (or freeze) the Download Manager after I received the "com.android.providers.downloads.ui" error many times.
I really prefer not to flash my phone, because it's really hard for me to install the apps again.
It will be great if you could suggest a way to overcome the problem without losing my apps or data.

Option 1....downgrade Google Play Services - locate in apps and uninstall updates. This will revert to an earlier or factory setting.
Test it and let me know

I was on the understanding that if the CSC is flashed as part of the main firmware installation everything goes however, if HOME_CSC is flashed, data remains.

There is no such option as "uninstall updates" in Google Place Services in app section. And the disable button is grayed out. I googled, and it seems I need to root my phone to be able to downgrade Google Play Services.

Hi. Sorry - just seen this.
Okay. In Apps section, tap the 3dots at the top right of the screen and select "Show system apps".
When loaded, scroll down to "Google Services Framework". Tap it. Tap Disable.
Reboot. Repeat process to then enable. Reboot. See what we have.
It's just a case of diagnostics now, if you want to avoid the flash route (we'll try and keep that as last resort - but you will not lose data using my method above)

When I disable MTP Host the battery draining and performance issues are gone, but of course some the other necessary features would be out of access too.
I was wondering if there is any way to update or replace MTP Host!?
Can someone help, I installed a custom rom and no matter which rom I install I have this app called Mein A1. I originally had no idea what it was because it's in German or something. After further investigation it looks like it has something to do with an Austrian mobile network. I have installed about 5 roms now and it always appears and it does not have the option to uninstall it but just disable. Normally titanium back up will remove anything and that can't even remove it because it says it is unable to find the APK. Please can someone help its driving me insane why it can't be removed.
Thanks
It sounds like you don't have full root abilities. Given that it is happening on all the roms you have flashed, it's likely you are using the addsu zip too root yes? You need to get the magisk 16.xx applicable flash able zip.
