How to install magisk on a320fl N? - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

Hey, just wanted to ask, how can I install magisk on my a320fl nougat because it says it needs stocj boot img, but I have already patched before and it says error while I try to flash it through twrp. The 2nd variant doesnt work for me either because I don't know where to find the stock boot.img file. Can someone help me out to install magisk? I'm new here so I don't know much about all this stuff

Hello,
Did you manage to install Magisk on your phone?
I'm also interested but faced the same problems as you did.

Nope, no answers yet, but I was wondering if it is possible to reinstall firmware with smart switch, and then try patching the boot.img file. Or if it isn't possible with swart switch, maybe try downloading your region firmware and flash through Odin

How can i remove twrp and install the stock recovery?

Hey, so I installed twrp and root aswell, and i've done what i wanted and now I feel confortable with unnistalling root and twrp. I have already unnistaled the root and want to unnistal twrp t be able to install OTA updates, considering that oreo is out on Motorola phones. Can anyone help? I also am kind of a newbie on android costumization btw.

Flash only recovery.img from stock ROM using command code: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
it will not work, your mobile will do a bootloop, you have to reflash the complete firmware.

It should work if
you have disabled dm-verity
This can be done either with a zip file which disables it or by flashing magisk
but obviously you will not be able to flash any ota - you will need to flash stock firmware and it is recommended to lock the bootloader just to make sure everything is back to stock

You must flash the oreo Bootloader BRJ6 (only Bootloader BL!) with Odin, restart into system. After that go into Downloader modus and flash the TWRP Image with Odin.
Works everytime on my S9.

Thanks for suggestion. Please tell me, do I need to flash dm-verify disabler, antyroot etc.? Or BRJ6 Bootloader, TWRP and Magisk only?

Im pretty sure you will need dm-verify still then twrp then magisk
Is here anybody who rooted pie build? Please share with us files you use to complete this task with some short tutorial. Now I'm waiting 7 days to unlock option appear again. As markyc25 said:
1. downgrade bootloader to Oreo BRJ6
2. unlock bootloader & go straight (without full reboot) to download mode
3. flash TWRP (twrp-3.2.3-0-starlte ?) with ODIN & go straight (without full reboot) to recovery mode
4. do not allow modification ?
5. wipe data
6. flash No Verify Encrypt zip ? (which version ?)
7. flash RMM Bypass zip ? (which version ?)
8. flash Magisk (latest 18.0 build ?)
Could somebody answer my question marks and post working files? I don't want to wait 7 days more
I'll appreciate your help.
after 14 days someone did anything? a guide to root pie with attached files???

Root pie Dec update (v10.0.2)

I got update from oero to pie via OTA today,
I tried many patched boot.img and root maunally by patching stock img but its stuck on boot screen.. Any idea??
Download the OTA, extract the images from the payload, flash the stock boot.img in both slots. After your phone boots you can download the latest magisk manager, use it to patch the stock boot.img that you already downloaded and use it to root your device.

What's mean " in both slots " ?
I tried to patch boot.img maunally but my device stuck on boot animations, So I flashed back stock boot.img into fastboot without root agian..
This is an A/B device which means that it has two slots for every partition (A and B). You need to flash the stock boot in the same partirion that it currently being used, flashing It in both is just to be safe in future updates.
Oh hey try this one: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dBX2dZV_wWgSip8d9lk0lrO_JHfxGdKU/view?usp=sharing
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I didn't find it anywhere on this forum. I am also stuck on a bootloop after installing Pie update. I had Magisk installed and I've uninstalled it - didn't reboot. After, I've applied the Pie update. Didn't reboot. Went back to Magisk app and then did install - install to inactive slot. After that have a "nice" bootloop. How can I get the unpatched boot.img? Thanks in advance.

Download the OTA zip that is available here, extract the boot.img and flash it in both slots. After that you can easily patch the stock image with Magisk Manager and install magisk like you would usually do (direct install).

Unfortunatelly, it seems the link for the OTA zip was removed, so, phone will stay bricked thanks to the lack of instructions of how to update to Pie when Magisk is installed. Why do they remove the links?

Ok, now i understand what is happening. It bootloops as soon as you reboot after installing magisk right? If so, then i need to know what you are doing to install magisk.

First the server is down, nobody removed the file, you just need to wait for it to go up again. Second, you can easily revert your phone back to 10.0.1.0 and stay there, your phone isn't bricked and it doesn't have to stay in this current state.

I never had 10.01.0 installed. I was on Oreo and got the update this morning. I've followed the rule for OTA with Magisk and it was the wrong thing to do. If, at least, there was a warning to NOT follow the instructions, all would be sorted. Maybe I can find a link somewhere with this update, as I don't want to lose my data. On Xiaomi official site, the last rom available is version V9.6.11.0.ODLMIFF. Unless I install this one back.

Hi, I need help rooting my 7T, do i still need a patched img boot file?

If yes, then can you please link the thread
If not, then what is the TWRP that you guys are using? How are you disabling encryption? And most importantly, does Magisk 20.4 get installed through TWRP?
Just want magisk on my stock rom
Any immediate help would be appreciated

1. You will need to root with patched boot image.
(Pls search yourself it's not hard.)
2. You can flash magisk with TWRP, but it worked for me with custom roms only! Maybe someone got it working on OOS but Im not sure.
3. So far TWRP for OOS is almost useless.
4. I would recommend the latest version by mauronofrio. Chinese one will easily brick your phone, if you don't know what you are doing.
Cheers.:good:

None of the rooting guides work?

Can anyone write an up-to-date guide on precisely what I need to do to install TWRP on a global-edition, fully updated (MIUI 12) Note 8 Pro today?...
There are three different guides and none of them work. I'm not interested in custom firmwares or anything else besides TWRP. I just want to install TWRP and magisk.
We are in the same boat...
Edit: N/A
Are you able to unlock your bootloader?
Also, pay really close attention to the warning at the top of the TWRP downloads page for your device.
WARNING: This device hard bricks really easily for unknown reasons. Restoring device without spending real money is impossible as of now. Don't flash TWRP unless you are an advanced user who knows what he is doing.

Additionally, there are a lot of weird quirks all over the place, which makes your device... non-optimal for modding.
Let me know if you really want help with this.
I really just wanted root and didn't realize you aren't supposed to use TWRP for it on new phones (especially this one.)

It's not that you're not supposed to use TWRP. It's that you need to know what you're doing.
That device you have is very easy to brick. I'm just making sure.
If you do only want root, that is very easy. First: do you have an unlocked bootloader? Second: exactly what software version do you have?

Installing Magisk from recovery is a legacy option and no longer recommended. The recommended method of installing Magisk consists of patching the boot image using the Magisk Manager app and then using fastboot to flash the patched boot image to the phone.
Installing TWRP is then as easy as using Magisk Manager to flash the TWRP installer zip, then reinstalling Magisk using direct install.
In order to retrieve a boot image to patch, you need to download the update you are using to a computer, then use a tool like Payload Dumper to extract the boot.img.
Kind of complex but it's the only option if installing TWRP without it bootloops you.

I don't own this device so I don't know any guides. The process is the same for most devices and the scripts will automate it for you.
Like I said, find a software update for your phone (search "miui 12.4.847.37586 OTA update zip" or similar), use Payload Dumper to extract a boot.img, transfer it to your device, install Magisk Manager and use that to patch the image, download the patched image to your computer, boot the phone into fastboot and flash the new boot image, and you'll have Magisk.
From there, go to the official TWRP website and download the "twrp-installer" for your device. Use Magisk Manager to install it. Then direct install Magisk to keep root.

Hey!! Fun fact, you don't need to use payload dumper for that! Download the "Full ROM" with "Type: Recovery", and unzip it. Inside there will be a "boot.img". That's what you patch using Magisk Manager.
