That's a brick. Call Google with that one. They should replace that. Anytime I've seen the n/a for bootloader and baseband it's toast.
How did you brick with bootloader locked? Best bet is to RMA it for a replacement it's done unless there is a tool to save it but I doubt it

Have you tried a newer RUU version from Google, or was it already on the newest?

Yeah RMA it then probably some hardware issue. He means Factory Image from here But I doubt you'll be able to flash one since locked and no fastboot

His only option is RMA. Locked bl so he can't do anything on his end. But this is clearly a hardware or software failure that is not his fault. Google will replace it.
Are there any News on this issue?
Got my Pixel Bootlooping with locked Bootloader, disabled OEM-Unlock Option.
Do i have any options other than RMA?
I had this problem too, except I could get into the recovery after many tries. I tried sideloading the ota with adb to fix it. But it didn't help. Any way to get replacement after this many years?

You can get into recovery mode , by (in my case): leave the phone in Power Off mode for an hour or more - Start with power + volume down - recovery... and sometimes it works. But no, it does not help. I sideloaded the OTA multiple times, still no luck

I confirm to that as I have the exact problem. I did manage to boot into system a few times after it started bootlooping but it always froze and restarted before I enabled oem unlocking.

I went to a local repair shop, they said the the "EEMC memory" is bad... meaning that i would have to replace the whole motherboard + there are no spare pieces in my country. Luckily i managed to talk to Google Support, and they will RMA it, i just need to clarify the details of shipping, packaging etc. we'll see HOw it works out. Also i just bought a used pixel 2 XL, so i'm good for the moment. Will sell the pixel XL they send me.

It seems so, yes. I bought it last year, from someone, in my country who said it was bought from the UK. I contacted google for fun, and they said that based on the IMEI it is under warranty.

Relock the bootloader, But I wouldn't recommend it is you may brick your device.
Does it really bother you? You can just avoid looking at it when booting...
It cannot be removed yet but there should be a way soon.
Stop restarting the device lol

before u even think of relocking bootloader or unchecking oem unlock under developer options, flash stock recovery 1st, then u can try to unlock ur bootloader, again oneplus supports unlocked bootloaders, so if u are worried about warranty, its still under warranty with bootloader unlocked
I know security can be annoying, but come on, it does not make your device useless. It's not like if you would see it very often though.
It's good that they make people aware about the risks and implications of unlocking/rooting your device.
The most annoying thing is the spelling mistakes
It's useful to have tho, if you messed up holding volume key trying to get into recovery after rebooting from fastboot.
Just hit the power button right away, it disappears, or as some have said.. Look away or close your eyes
Updating to OOS 3.2.1 fixes the grammar errors, that will make it more bearable :good::good::good:
Is there at least a way to make it not ugly, for example like Google's example?
There is one way.
Relock your bootloader.
Or simply don't look at it when booting.
Or press power button to boot without waiting.
Or buy a Nexus to have a less ugly message regarding unlocked bootloader.
Can't seem to understand what's the problem with the this.
Very useful thread, full of "don't unlock xD LFMAO".
XDA is no longer what it used to be......
If there was a way to do that don't you think it would be here already.
If this is like my old G4 there's no way of removing that unless you Relock the bootloader.
Not even change it with another image.
So please stop asking for something that can't be done(at least for now).
And xda is what it was.
Users aren't what they use to be.
Now xda is full of users that just don't want to bother looking for answers, that ask the same question over and over again, that breaks their device and blame the dev, and so on.....

By doing some reverse engineering, maybe I could sort it out. However, we would need to figure out where is that security check (should be somewhere in bootloader) and then just NOP the jmp or the check.
I currently do not own the device, and the shipping is gonna take a while. 2 weeks before mine gets dispatched
I have in the past setup my new devices, spent hours then somebody finally roots the device.
This usually means wiping the device, unlocking the bootloader, rooting and reinstalling everything again.
It is much easier if the first thing I do is unlock the bootloader and then root.
I then set up my device, and back up everything using Titanium Backup.
What do you do keep using the old device for a few weeks and wait for news and a procedure to unlock the bootloader and root ?

Not even ordering until I am sure that is all in place.
Can anyone buy the pixel for me and send it to me in Zimbabwe, I cannot order it for now.
I'm waiting for a method of gaining root access to be achieved before placing my order. The phone I have now (Nexus 6) still works fine so I'm in no rush. Also, I am kind of interested in seeing what kind of reviews the XL gets anyways. Mainly regarding the volume of the speaker.

You will almost certainly have root access on this device. The bootloader looks to be unlockable unless you get the Verizon branded version.
Remember, root doesn't mean supersu, or even the su binary. Root means the ability to run commands in the superuser context. You will have that at the very least. From there a new solution to give root access to normal android applications may need to be developed, but that is only a matter of time. As long as your bootloader is unlockable, you can build whatever you need into the kernel as a module, or run a service from init (like daemonsu).

That is what I normally do...... unlock the bootloader right out of the box (it wipes the phone then before you set it up) then you have the option to root later on if you like.
ill keep my s7. the phone looks smooth And fluid but i hate the design. its also way overpriced.
How could you wait? Buy it. If for some wild reason we couldn't get root. I'm sure it would still be returnable. If you wait, the phone will already have root and a custom ROM before one ever shows up on your doorstep.lol

I don't do that.... I usually buy Verizon and purposely get at least 3 phones and return them as defective when I dont have root to my own device. Just as a little F-U to them. Then I finally hack my own phone and go with it. But I'll return as many as I can as defective first until they wise up and stop sending them to me.
You simply should not have to pay extra when hardware and software shouldn't be tied together in the first place. Why would I pay extra for an unlocked device that is exactly the same hardware as the locked one.
That is definitely the most immature thing I've heard all week.
You don't like their policies so you are 'showing them'? Give me a break. My 11 year old grew out of that behavior 5 years ago...

Dude its not hard to completely re set your phone quit being lazy I do it like 30 + times in 2 months, and install many themes apps widgets and configurations. I also use Nova launcher back up where you just have to install widget apps etc. But re setting a phone is nothing and do not expect root on this phone. Just google search root pixel phones. Many sources say its going to be impossible. Hope you didnt get it for root purposes. lol

I even already wait 3rd year cause I skip ugliest nexus 6p and now pixel xl which has no unlocked bootloader and no root, and on top of that it has NOT wireless charging AGAIN !!!
I'm incredibly disappointed because Pixel XL seems good even it has HUGE, gigantic bezels on top and bottom.
For now Nexus 6 is the best and hope not the last google phone.

I hope so I want it to be rooted just the articles I've read made it seem doubtful. Especially b/c I pre ordered one.
I purchased a N910V on ebay from an apparently ignorant person who did a factory reset on the device and shipped it to me. I've worked with the seller, Samsung support and Verizon support to try to figure out what Samsung account the device was previously setup under. I have no indication that this is a hot device. Neither Samsung or Verizon have any info that it was stolen. The seller refuses to take it back, so I might as well try fixing it. It was to be a Christmas gift. Damn.
The device has the stock 5.0.1 ROM Lrx22c.n91vvru2bog5 and is blocked by Samsung's (not Google's) Factory Reset Protection (FRP). "This phone is locked because of an abnormal factory reset. Sign in to the Samsung account that was previously used on this phone to confirm that it belongs to you." None of the exploits I find apply to 5.0.1. There is no Accessibility button on the Language setup screen, for example.
Here's my question… If I blast the 5.1.1 stock ROM onto the device will I brick it, or will I then be able to successfully use the 5.1.1 exploit to get past the Samsung Factory Reset Protection screen? Is sammobile.com the place for a legit copy of the stock 5.1.1 BPA1 ROM? Or perhaps I can get past the FRP by rooting the device?
Thx,
cjnaz

Not sure about flashing the rom via Odin, but yes, you'll want to get the file from Sammobile. Also, as an avid eBayer, if you open an eBay case against the seller, I guarantee that eBay will get you your money back and make the seller accept the return. If you have an otg cable, I'd suggest using this method.

Thanks quinciebee. I tried that method. That's for overriding a **Google** account lock. My Note 4 has a **Samsung** account lock in place. Apparently for Android 6 the new method is to use a Google account lock just as a Samsung account lock was used on Android 4 and 5 versions. The irritation is that the Android version is seldom mentioned in the various workarounds. Any other suggestions for solving this problem on 5.0.1, folks?
Any progress on this?

The way I see it, you have on of two choices, you can flash the stock firmware from here and make sure to choose the exact firmware and PDA that your phone currently uses, or you can download Kies, plug in the phone and perform an update. Either way, there's really no guarantee, you just have to decide whether you're willing to risk it, whatever you choose, good luck!

Not sure if you resolved this or not, if not check out this video.
Should help.
Resolution (partially)
Okay, here's the bottom line… Again, this is for a **Samsung** reactivation lock, not the **Google FRP**, so the above video doesn't apply. However, someone PM'd me this video which DOES work for my case: N910V on stock ROM n91vvru2bog5, unrooted. The video is poor, so I'll summarize the procedure:
Once at the Samsung account lock screen, from an OTG flash drive install and run QuickShortcutMaker (*) to get to settings and enable USB debugging, then run Debloater by Gatesjunior to disable the fresh factory boot setup apps, which effectively BYPASSES the Samsung reactivation lock check.Note that the stale Samsung account is still on the device and cannot be removed/modified, so just ignore it for the life of the phone. You wont be able to use any of the Samsung services since the phone doesn't have a valid Samsung account login.
BTW, watch out for this scam: https://samsungaccountunlock.com/unlocking/samsung-account-unlock. These guys (I assume) offer to "unlock" the device by providing them the IMEI and $10. They responded that they had modified the Samsung account login info for this specific phone to a new account that they send you the account username and password for, and they say that you may not change it to anything else. This might be a reasonable solution, BUT the login they provided does not work, and they have not responded to any emails since. Perhaps at one point in time they had a mole inside Samsung that would edit user accounts for them. At least to me, they look like a scam. PayPal assistance claim filed.
So the state of the device is 1) Samsung reactivation lock bypassed, and 2) running Samsung stock ROM n91vvru2bog5.
Part of my OP was whether it is possible/safe to upgrade to stock ROMs for 5.1.1 or 6.0.1 while the Samsung account remains active on the device? Anyone?
Also, I'm interested in rooting the device so that I can have more complete backups, while remaining on a stock ROM. For the rooting question I'll dig around in the threads rather than asking for a repeat here. A quick reply to a relevant thread would be appreciated.
(*) to get the .apk onto the OTG drive I installed it on another phone and ran Apk Extractor. There are probably easier, more direct ways. Also there is another app which directly launches Settings which probably accomplishes the same thing.

If it's bootlooping then that's what ended up happening to all the devices up until this point. The bootloop issue does not load beyond the recovery partition. It's not a software issue, it's hardware related. You can contact LG and see what they say, but it may be the end of it.

Thanks for confirming that LG is piece of trash.
My phone was working fine today till evening, suddenly it restarted and this boot loop started. I was on PixelRom (Oreo 8.0)
I tried flashing Factory image of 8.1 final release via fastboot. Its still not booting. Keeps restarting.

Contact LG. They're fixing these even if they're out of warranty.
My Nexus 5x bootlooping also. I try to sideload the latest ota and make an Factory Reset but did not help. Bootloader is locked and oem Unlock is disabled. What can I do?

Throw it in garbage and never buy LG phones.
the fact you can enter recovery, heck even adb/fastboot means you can 99% fix it (the 1% being hardware failure, which i really doubt, due to overheating, but thats fixable with the cooper plate mod), there's tons of guides in the q&a forum section, search it up.
LG replaced my MOBO and CPU for free, even though I had bought used on eBay. I just used the confirmation email from eBay and PayPal as proof of purchase.
Assuming you have called LG and confirmed your trashy assumption take matters into your own hands.
Did you try "fastboot flashing unlock" command from command prompt while n5x is on the bootloader?
Then proceed to https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/nexus-5x-bootloop-death-blod-andorid-t3683926

Do what everyone is telling you to do: contact LG.
My Nexus 5X was overheating a lot and I sent it back to LG telling them about the bootloop issue and they offered me a complete refund for the phone.
It's a hardware issue, so you can't do anything related to software (ADB, fastboot, etc. nothing will work).
two questions

1. Is/Was your phone under warranty?
2. Did they do for free? how long did it take? Please share their contact information, how you initiated this all process.

I bought my Nexus on Amazon and they kindly offered me a complete refund of the phone (it was under warranty, it had three months left).
I just opened a chat with Amazon support and they offered me the refund (completely free, I returned the phone to Amazon and then I bought a Pixel XL
If your warranty period has ended, try contacting your seller and see if they offer you any solution. I've read that because of the bootloop problem the warranty period has been extended to 30 months:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ProjectFi/comments/86kuvq/lg_extends_bootlooping_nexus_5x_warranty_to_30/ but I don't know if it applies to every retailer.

But have you tried requesting an RMA on LG's webpage? I once did and they fixed it in one week for free before my overheating/bootloop problems started.
Even so, some people on XDA claims to have their NX5X repaired out of warranty with LG service because of the bootloop: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/help/lg-usa-doing-warranty-repairs-5x-t3687497
I have a question. I went to oneclickroot.com to get the Pixel rooted.
Is it normal when i reboot or shut down the phone, that the phone keeps saying that the phone bootloader is unlocked then it says press power button to continue, is it normal for that to keep popping up, when u restart and power on the phone.

Did it actually root the phone? You may have corrupted your device with that root method. If it even worked

So your saying that it is not suppose to do that. agghhh i used the site oneclickroot.com and i had to pay them 99.99 dollars to root the phone, because the instructions is detailed enough there is always a small part that is missing. Is there a way i can wipe the phone and make it brand new so i can start from scratch because clearly as u stated they messed up my device with there corny root process.

Yeah, your phone shouldn't do that. Does it actually boot up to the OS outa curiosity? If your bootloader is unlocked, and you have OEM unlocking and USB debugging enabled, then you can fastboot the factory image and wipe your device to start over. There are great guides in these forums for that purpose :good:
Unlocking the bootloader will induce a warning every time the phone is rebooted. That would be normal. Without seeing exactly what the warning says, it's hard to say if what you are seeing is the same message or is normal.
That said, I would probably reflash the factory images and use a different root method. It's not terribly hard to do on your own so I would avoid any one click type solutions because it's just asking for trouble.
this is the normal bootloader unlocked screen:

Yes that screen is normal in a phone that had the bootloader unlocked on every boot

When i reboot the phone it says this (Press power button to resume)
Right below that with a yellow triangle, it says.
The bootloader is unlocked and software integrity cannot be guaranteed. Any data stored on the device may be available to attackers, Do not store any sensitive data on the device.
Visit this link on another device
then it shows an ID

The bootloader message is normal, you just shouldn't have to press to continue every time. Since your in the OS, have you checked if it's rooted?

No, i dont have to go to continue, when i boot up my phone that message pops up and it automatically boots into my OS unless i tap the power button, as it says in the message. I just wanted to know if thats normal because im getting conflicting information, like does it mean that the jailbreak method done was the wrong one or its not a proper root.
Also how do i check to see if it is rooted?

That message is normal for all of us with bootloader unlocked pixel devices. You can check root status with an app like this one :good:

And my question is you paid $100.00 to root when devs have root included with a rom? That's probably the more important issue lol

It's understandable but 100.00 dollars to me for something software related seems to good to be true unless it's a big name like Microsoft. Lol at least you know for next time

I just wanted to root it and get it over with. Now i have to figure if there are root apps like IOS like backgrounder that leaves apps open in the background, or a rooted app that can tell me what tower im on and the band etc... I already posted a thread about my questions, i dont want to misguide this thread, thanks to you all.

No worries man, you are gonna have fun! Pixels are way more fun than iPhone. Androids allow you to modify deep in the hardware, CPU speed, governor's, and kernels. Apple won't let you touch that stuff because it is closed source code. Google is obviously open source. Just don't Kang lol. I helped these forums for years until I made the mistake of buying a Verizon pixel 2 which was factory locked by Verizon. Greenify is a good root app. Macrodroid is another. If you do decide to modify, know that there are risks with all of these tweaks. You could potientally set your CPU or GPU on fire or your wife will tell at you! Lol Lots of experienced people including myself are here to help you at any point.
