Help needed to save my device. - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Hey there,I flashed boot-animation image (.img) file in /firmware partition through TWRP recovery by mistake, now my ZUK Z2 plus can't detect SIM or WI-FI access points(Also the mac address now indicates 02:00:00:00:00 which seems odd). What a, I suppose to do to save my device?
ps:this is my first time that I'm asking for help here on XDA given that I'm it's frequent visitor from last 5 years. This particular problem that I mentioned above is beyond my knowledge of android modifications.Help In Any Form Is Appreciated. HOPE i get my device in fully working condition again otherwise I will have to stop my journey of tinkering every android device that I ever owned which will be really sad for me since I cant keep ruining my devices like that.(Happened with my previous YU YUPHORIA )

Blu Advance 4.0 L A010U ROMs

Hey guys,
I really need to find at least the stock ROM for the new-ish Blu Advance 4.0L (model A010U), because the most recent OTA update unforgivingly bricked mine. Now I want to try to re-flash the stock ROM, but I am also open to custom ROMs, if there are any available. Please help me out! Thanks in advance
I am really surprised no one has replied yet, but again I am facing the same problem and I've been searching the Internet for one month now and I found absolutely nothing for this phone (specifically for version A010U).
So I am going to post a different question in the hopes that someone will read it and help us out:
I have two Blu Advance 4.0 L A010U phones, which are identical except for the color (white and green). They were manufactured a month apart one in 10/2015 and one in 9/2015.
Unfortunately after only a couple of months of light use and for no apparent reason (did not drop it, or wet it, etc) it started going through a boot loop. It will start, show the "bold like us" logo then restart again without making it to the operating system at all. Like I said I've been looking for over a month to find a ROM (stock or modded) to reflash but with no luck. Then I had an idea. Since I have the other identical phone that's working fine, is there a trick I can do using the working phone to create a ROM that I can use in my broken one. By the way, the non working phone will allow me to get into the recovery menu, but unfortunately nothing happens if I wipe the cache or even if I reset to factory defaults.
Anyone knows what's causing that "boot loop", how to fix it and where to find a ROM or even "extract" or "create" one using a working Advance 4.0 L ???
Thank you very much!
Man I wish I knew. I'm kinda a novice. I have the same phone with a similar problem... I downloaded the recent ota update and the first time it said it couldn't unzip it. I tried again and it seemed to work but when it rebooted into recovery it said there was an error... So it won't boot up, it just goes to the screen that says "no command". I'm pretty sure the there's a way to make a copy of the working ROM but since I don't use a PC for anything I've never taken the time to learn the method.

I just got ahold of a couple of these devices myself and am in the process of going through all the in's and out's of them....I'm a Samsung nerd so I haven't messed with something like these in a while but I got one (that was supposedly dead bricked per the lady friend of mine I got them from) at least able to boot into factory mode and recovery via ADB and just as I'm posting this I'm in adb shell going through the device's internal memory.....so we'll see what all I find and can pull out of this one and possibly know enough to post an intelligible reply with solutions next time
The boot looping sounds like a common problem with these and when I get to that point I'm going to get rid of the stock bootanimation.zip ASAP and try something else. I get the idea that these things aren't exactly power houses built for much so the littlest thing or small bug in their coding could lead to this kind of crap happening.
Hopefully you figure yours out before I toss these out the window! lol
Cheers y salud!

Forgot to add a couple things about your post, sorry! I beleive (and I just started digging into this phone) that the no command part is the locked bootloader these phones appear to have. I think it was a combo of holding both volume buttons down from a powered off state then pressing power button on that came up with the option for factory mode or recovery (which led to the sad 'no command' droid), i went into factory mode and theres an option for Tp Upgrade which Im assuming is F/W or something similar but I just hooked up to the PC and in that mode it's reading the internal and external memory of the phone and that's about where I'm at so far.
Wow! I'm surprised this thread is still going.
Anywho, I found a repository that is storing the default ROM for the 4.0L. The files were just added recently. I would have liked to have seen a custom Lollipop ROM made by now, but this device is far too irrelevant to get any attention, unfortunately. Just root and forget, I guess.
I can't wait to try it, thank you! And btw, were you able to get root successfully and if so, how?

Hey Deuler93 -
You have my respect for digging out that BLU ROMs link and sharing with the rest of us. I downloaded the one for my Advance and used SP flash tool to flash the phone that was stuck on a boot-loop. Of course first I had to download and install the MediaTeK drivers for USB connectivity with my PC. Everything worked flawlessly, no glitches what so ever. All these links are easily found and widely available online if anyone is interested I can share here too. I just hope that this boot-loop was due to some software glitch and not hardware failure. Everything seems to work fine for now, keepint my fingers crossed it will NOT happen again.
Well, one less headache to worry about. By the way we're not that far, if you're ever in the Chicago area, I owe you a beer or something. Thank you!
Hi guys !
Thank you very much for the Advance 4.0L Roms.
I have successfuly recovered my phone, but the IMEI got lost.
So, I need to root it in order to recover the IMEI, but I just can´t get success on any method :
Kingroot
Framaroot
Towelroot
is there another way to root it ?
Thank you very much.
I got temporary root using the kingroot apk. But it messed things up and I don't trust it anymore. None of the other mentioned methods worked for me either, maybe try the PC kingroot method
well this helps one thing

umm. . . when the no command option comes up just press the power button and the rest of options will appear. doesnt exactly solve your problem however unless you have the ZIP file to install, which is what I'm looking for.
What might happen if a ROM is used for another blu phone. ??
A similar phone as well.
Plz advise.
Damn! This thread just keeps going!
I haven't even looked here in a while, so I will bunch my commentary here. I'm also salaried now, so I bought into a OnePlus X (onyx), a more expensive cheapo device, so I do not use the 4.0L anymore.
As for rooting tools, I used the Kingroot APK successfully in the stock environment. I never tried flashing something SuperSU myself, but it could work. Is flashing a SU app possible from the fastboot interface?
And to Steve's question - it is technically possible to flash a ROM for a different device onto your own device, but is considered a bad idea due to the possibility of introducing incompatibilities and missing proprietary requirements. I feel like this would hold especially true to stock ROMs because the manufacturer probably has no interest in supporting anything more than the device that they are manufacturing for. Doing so removes many possible "compatibility" issues from even having to be considered, but I digress. In short, try to find a ROM made for your device and your device only.
Did you find the zip file for the recovery

You dont need root to recover imei all you have to do is type *#*#84666364#*#* in your dialer and you will be entered in EngineerMode then go into connectivity ,CDS information and radio information phone 1 or 2 then you will see AT+ type something eg.A then backspace and select the first thing you see. Put a space after AT+ and then put you imei code here "IMEI" between these "" You can find your imei by removing your battery it willl be there. After sending command reboot and imei is back.

Need Rom for Alcatel 4037a

Good day my friends. This is my first post but i read these forums very often. I own a Digicel Dl750 (alcatel 4037a) which i would really appreciate some help with. I tried to flash my phone some time ago using a tutorial i found online since i couldn't find anything useful here (my go to source for these things). However, after trying to flash the rom and failing, i am stuck with a phone that won't respond to any input. COnnecting it with a usb simply gives me a white light on the phone, and device manager reads a "MTK usb port" device. it won't boot or anything else. Been trying to install some kind of recovery but i've had no luck so far. Is anyone here able to provide me with a backup of a working phone so i can fix mine please.
Edit Note1: After a bit more testing, I have pretty much confirmed that it is a problem with the preloader as the phone seems to completely skip the preloader when you connect it to the pc, and after a few seconds goes to the bootrom(?) instead. I am making this call based on the hardware ids show in device manager.

Regarding new Android 10 build

Hello everyone,
First of all, I can't thank the devs enough for the hard work they are doing for Sakura (R6P). I just have one confusion regarding the new Android 10 build of the Pixel experience. Am I the only one or anyone else also facing the mounting problem while trying to convert an app tp system app (a message showing 'system not in proc/mounts' or something like that). And if I try to do any modification to the build.prop or anything else, it stucks my device on boot-loop (well, I am no expert of course). Is this a problem or it's just something that is not possible on Android 10? An answer would be much more appreciated.
Thank you
Same problem
Hi,
I have the same problem with Android 10 in the Pixel Experience project. I just installed the Android 10 package using TWRP without any problem or notice but when trying to reboot after installation, the TWRP says "are you sure, No OS is installed" and if press yes the phone will stucks in bootloop.

Question A22 4g (a225fxxu3cvk3) Bootloop

Greetings
I got a notification that there is an update to one ui 5 _ android 13 available. i connected the phone to the charger, started update and went to sleep (since the internet speed is slow here and takes a long time to download the data). after i woke up, i faced a bootloop on my phone.
i cleared the cache and repaired apps in recovery menu (based on a guide on some website), but it didn't help. what should i do?
* my phone doesn't have a warranty anymore.
First wait for an hour if it boots up if not wipe all the data
Oh my, I just faced the exact same problem WITH the exact same phone! :')
Don't bother with technicians, tried with two and they both said wiping data was the only way. I was thinking of trying with the Samsung Support Center but eh, they're closed tomorrow (italian holiday lmao)
Anyways, I believe doing a hard reset would resolve everything, but I'm assuming you don't want to..
I got a whole lot of help in here, if you want to check!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...p-after-device-is-stuck-on-boot-loop.4536965/
Let me know if you're able to do something!
Alslamalikom (Peace be upon you) .. I hope you are well.... I had the same problem, in samsung a22 4g after updating Android 13, it only turned on the Samsung logo, then it restart.. Bootloop
I just subscribed.. to warn you so that no one will make same mistake .. My storage size is 128 GB and it is full of family personal and for me, and it was not possible to format it so as not to lose it.. Also, the mobile was under warranty, and I did not want to go to the agency, because they would say format or they would be able to open it, and it contains special family things
So I used Odin and the ROM version a225fxxu3cvk3 and another object such as bootloader and others, and the download began, and all my hope is to open The device does not delete anything
Thank Allah , in any case, the device was opened, but an automatic format was made for the device and everything was lost as if it was new... So I liked that no one did and lost his data as me🥹
And as kind member here called (nanawa) said, try when an update comes out, not the same ROM or Older than on the mobile phone
But everyone who installs the ROM is at her/his own risk
I will put it here and 2 another topics related to the problem and i will leave
Best wishes,, alslamalikom

Question [Windows 11] [Pad 5][Mindows]

So there's this tutorial for installing windows 11 on Xiaomi Pad 5
Simple and easy way unlike past methods. And it's available for all users
How to Install Windows 11 on Xiaomi Pad 5 - Gizmochina
It’s been more than a year since the Xiaomi Pad 5 is here with all its high-end specifications consisting of Snapdragon 860 and Snapdragon 870 on respective models. Surprisingly, the Android tablet from Xiaomi can now run Windows 11 without any major bugs or flaws. As spotted on Geekbench...
www.gizmochina.com
It works using one click installer (chinese tool)
The problem is that it lack a lot of details and support is only on chinese.
Did anyone tried it?
I searched on the internet no other websites or YouTube videos
Yesterday I was about to install it and try it but the prompt box said there's a high risk of getting a bricked device and using Mi Flash Tool in fastboot won't help after updating the partitions so basically it's beyond my expertise.
I already has the ArrowOS custom ROM not MIUI.
And how can someone fix a bricked device after updating partitions.
I installed windows 11 on my xiaomi mi 8 that have a snapdragon cpu, the same as mi pad 5 and the process should be the same. When i modified partitions for installing windows 11, i was not able to reinstall android because “userdata” partition got deleted. With “parted” tool (or the same tool used for modify partitions), i deleted all windows paritions and re-created the default “userdata” one, so i was able again to install android and use mi flash tool. (Always take a screenshot or a backup of the default partition lable, in case you have to restore it)
Found a video that should be useful:
Thank you so much
The video is great but the tool is much easier (one-click installation tool)
I have no expertise in modifying partitions, so ur experience in ur mi 8 would be very valuable.
I might need to ask u some questions when things get messed up if choose to proceed with it.
Yes

yes, i can help you in this process, but it’s a bit different than xiaomi mi 8, because i did it 1 year ago, so, maybe I should be able to help only in cases of problems. If you can, post here a screenshot of the default partition lable.
EDIT: if you want to dualboot, the process is a bit different, because you will have to shrink the userdata partition, not remove it completely. This way you should be able to use flash tool even with windows installed, but I'm not sure, because I'm not familiar with this guide. But remember that with the dualboot you will have less space in both operating systems.
I'd recommend using commands instead of the automatic tool, but if you're not familiar with cmd, then you're free to do whatever you want. However, I leave the official guide (for dualboot) https://github.com/erdilS/Port-Windows-11-Xiaomi-Pad-5/blob/main/guide/English/1-partition-en.md

If you brick your device is very difficult to unbrick it. I have an POCO F3 which is bricked and it has passed over 4 months and i can't do anything to unbrick or restore the partitions. If you are new study a week or two about android partiotions in internet be experienced and after that try to port windows 11.
But if you liked tweaking and you want the maximum perfomance of your tablet take a look at my guide.
The same tool (Engage Machine Toolbox V2.1.2) Has a button to revert the partitions and make userdata last partition and delete the windows ones. Once that's done you simply reboot and will boot to android(in case it crashed in the middle of the process). If it still doesn't boot, flash with mi flash because it will work now, or use fastboot rom. Anything but clear all and lock. Do not use that option(I don't know why it's applied by default at mi flash startup+load images folder).
I just bricked my mi pad 5 last night, struggled for several hours until I managed to revert it to Android. Still haven't been able to install Windows 11 on it. I reach the point in the gizmochina tutorial where it makes the partitions, it never asks for the wim file, throws error : no uefi or windows partitions found. Haven't tried to install manually, like create partitions and flash partitions using cmd.

You're so correct about the clear all and lock thing, it once happened to me during installing fastboot rom cuz its the default option. The solution is just use the mi unlock tool again and it will do the job. Regarding installing windows, will u try the tool again or try manually? In both cases, if it works , please let me know id really appreciate it
I will try the manual way because i spent like 5 hours trying this tool.
5, because there is no backout plan in case something happens.
I always hate this about all tutorials out there : they assume it works 100%. If it fails, no help from anyone.
The tool throws errors like : data is not formatted(because you need to format data via recovery and then boot straight into fastboot...anything else fails), partition table failure(because the userdata is not the last partition(this happens when the partitions are made for windows install), and last error that I got was "windows or uefi partition not found"...i still haven't cracked this one.
I think I have time today to try manually. Will let you know.
Yup that's unfortunate it says if you have questions ask in the comments and there's no comment section at all. It's barely a guide.
For example: they should've mentioned that thing about formatting and booting directly to fast boot. While in the tutorial it says format then reboot then go to fastboot which is useless cuz when you first boot after formatting data you've already lost ur formatted state. Anyways I wish you good luck with manual tutorial.. the dual boot one that Maxsenza151 shared seems a good option. Waiting to hear from u

There is no comment section because the text is copy-paste from somewhere else.
So I did the dual boot and it works like in this tutorial :
Git : https://github.com/erdilS/Port-Windows-11-Xiaomi-Pad-5/
The issue is that camera and speakers do not work and the charge is amazingly slow.
I'm hoping on some driver updates in the future but for now I'm using it on Android...

Just do the manual One. The Renegade Project team highly recommend to follow the GitHub guide that i sent to you. If you use your brain, you can do It, its quite simple too. Join Project Renegade telegram group and ask them.
P.S: on the renegade project website they say that you need to follow github guide because there are some importand device-specific steps!
In the photos, you can see what they say.
(There is a uninstall guide too on github)
