DOOGEE Shoot 1 first unboxing and review
DOOGEE is on a roll with their mid-range phones, which includes a slew of high-quality yet affordable smartphones. Recently there comes a brand new series named Shoot series.
Unboxing Video
The Shoot 1 is one of the cheapest Dual Camera smartphone available on the market, and with latest discounts (available on many e-shops) it may be the cheapest.
Dual Camera, Dual-LED Flash
The most interesting aspect of this device is its rear-facing dual camera setup. The Shoot 1 comes with a 13MP primary shooter and 8MP secondary unit, with the latter being used purely to capture depth information that can be taken advantage of when using the camera’s wide aperture mode.
The wide aperture mode lets you dial in the aperture, which allows for a very large bokeh (or SLR) effect. The bokeh effect does work quite well and looks very convincing. If you cover the lense before you start shooting, there will be an alert. It’s also a symbol of real dual camera.
Front Camera, 8MP with 88' wide-angle lens and beautify mode
With an 8MP front camera, it allows to achieve superior selfies even in low light. Set the camera to take a photo when you smile, or fingerprint shutter. Detects your face and applies custom beauty settings.
The beautify feature is something pretty common nowadays, and here it works even better thanks to the high-quality camera.

Doogee Shoot 1 first OTA update came with a trojan in the system. Detected as Rootkin.DB by Bitdefender, it installs continuously a com.android.horizons.syne_1008.apk , which is removed , but comes back after several hours.
Hope Doogee sends a clean stock rom . Could it be done via OTA?

Yes, i will alert Doogee about this.

After ota ubdate finger id doesn't work good as before. And the camera Whether front and back is soo bad in video call about any social app.

My fingerprint scanner is working just fine, but I agree with you about the camera.

I'm screwed. When I tried to root my Shoot_1, I loaded something improperly and then it did not stop giving me errors with SP_Flashtools. I had no choice but to format all the partitions except the preloader and wait for the damn rom to appear.
At this moment I would settle for that update that they say they has viruses
I do not understand why doogee no up load the rom already.

Beg of someone here to make a nandroid of a ROM never booted? This will not work without TWRP though... Sry. Such a new device with susch a small following yet.
As follows:
1. They do full nandroid of their device.
2. They Reset the phone
3. Do a nandroid of the current state before ever booting/insert any settings.
4. They upload it somewhere for you.
5. They restore their phone with the android from before...
6. You restore the nandroid (don't overwrite the stuff unique to your phone!)
7. Do a factory reset just to be sure nothing malicious is done to the shared nandroid...
Does this work techie people? Dunno of the phone got good TWRP though

Review (part 1)
Introduction
This is the DOOGEE Shoot 1.
Hardware
Just like most Mediatek Dual Camera devices, also this one is powered by a Mediatek MT6737T SOC clocked at 1.44GHz, the Full-HD capable variant of the MT6737 (standard variant supports maximum HD), together with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. with a 13MP rear main camera and 2.0MP rear secondary camera.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with some accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/2A USB Charger, 1x User Guide, 1x TPU Cover, 1x Extra Screen Protector, 1x SIM-Tray Eject Tool and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied.
Being the first Dual Camera device ever released by DOOGEE, it seems to be pretty well-made as regards its build quality. I might have expected a Metal Chassis, but, somehow, DOOGEE choose to use a Plastic variant that might looks like metal (painting effect). It feels solid enough, an overall interesting design.
It is 15.70x7.72x0.92cm, not the most compact 5.5 inches device you can find, with medium bezels. As regards its weight, it is pretty light, just 168g.
On the front side there is the usual 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. No Notification LED is here.
On the lower front side there is the Touch Keys area, with Menu and Back touch buttons, together with the Fingerprint Scanner that can be physically pressed working as an Home Button.
On the back side there is the unibody chassis.
The upper rear side of the device features the Dual-Camera Sensors supported by Dual-LED (no Dual-Tone) Flashlight.
On the lower rear side there are just some Certifications Logos because the Speaker is placed near the Micro-USB port.
Device
Screen
The screen, just like all SHARP ones, is slighly warmer compared to others. Its color reproduction is just fine, but the refresh rate is completely messed up. (50hz instead of 60hz = software bug, an OTA update can fix)
Light Sensor supports smooth light changes, this is its maximum brightness.
Viewing Angles are as good as you would expect from an IPS screen.
Camera
As already said for another Dual-Camera review, i am not a professional photographer so my photos might look a bit messy, i do not know how to handle this Dual Camera system properly.
Using the Standard Photo Mode, the camera is able to take some nice shots, even though the noise level is higher than average. Unfortunately also other devices i have reviewed with the same camera sensor had the same issue so i don't think this is something fixable.

Flashlight is powerful enough, nothing to complain about it.
As regards Video Recording, the camera is able to record 1080p Videos at 30FPS, and the quality is decent.
Unfortunately the Front Camera, even though the Sensor is great based on it technical specs (an Hynix 8MP), takes some noisy photos with a low amount of details. Software Issue? Maybe.
Luckily the Camera Software allows the user to enable a fake-flashlight feature that uses the screen as a light, it is working great in my opinion.
Audio
The Speaker on this device is just great, with a good amount of low-frequencies and high volume. It is possible that this is a BOX Speaker, well done DOOGEE!
As regards the Microphone, it works great in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...), the earpiece isn't the best though, a bit muffled.
GPS
Considering that this device doesn't have any Metal Chassis, i would have expected a better GPS reception. It is stable, able to get some satellites indoors, but the signal is not the best.

Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Thanks to the 4G Band 20 support (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it), I’m almost always and everywhere connected to the 4G Network of my Mobile Network Provider (TIM Italy).
4G Network Speed is sufficient, it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good.
WiFi 5GHz is supported here, and its speed is average, Mediatek WiFi performance doesn't get any better.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity is definitely lower than the declared one. (declared 3300mAh, real ~2990mAh).
This is the PCMark Battery Test, somehow the battery runtime is low, definitely not acceptable for a 3300mAh battery. I assume this is a software issue, so i hope to see some improvements with an OTA Update.
As regards battery charging times, the 5V/2A charger might seem powerful, but the device doesn't use more than 1.5A, so it takes more than 2 hours to charge.
Software
Luckily, just like most DOOGEE devices, this one uses a clean Android 6.0 OS with some minor customizations. It doesn't have Nougat yet, neither i know whether it is planned or not. It runs pretty smooth though, this MT6737T CPU seems to be the best compromise for low-cost devices.
MiraVision is here, together with other Mediatek Features such as Smart Gestures (double tap-to-wake, etc...)
Finally, after many devices lacking one, a Magnetometer is here.
As regards the Fingerprint Scanner management, it is easy to configure just like most Android Devices, and it is pretty impressive.
As you may notice, the fingerprint settings menu is full of nice options, with the ability to use the fingerprint scanner as a back button.

Review (part 2)
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is interesting, compared to the MT6737M it is an huge improvement.
AndroBench – Mediocre eMMC Performance, Write Speed is lower than average.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – 3D Performance is a bit low, the Full HD screen isn't easy to handle.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), i would have expected an higher single core score.

GFXBench – GPU Performance isn't superb as regards OpenGL 3 tests, but decent for OpenGL 2.
PCMark – Compared to the MT6737M, this is an huge upgrade.

Vellamo – I might have expected some higher scores here, just sufficient.
Conclusions
DOOGEE always impressed me with the build quality and overall experience offered by their devices, and this one might not be one of them. The hardware is great for the price target, with some nice features, but the software needs to be polished and fixed here and there. Screen and Camera improvements are required.
Compared to another Dual-Camera device i have reviewed, i am not sure whether this works better or not, this Dual-Camera implementation on Mediatek devices is so weird that might offer different results every time.
So, do I recommend it? If you want to deal with the software bugs i mentioned before, yes, otherwise i would wait for a proper OTA Update from DOOGEE before considering to buy it.

What kind of reset? The one on the settings menu or by power & vol + 3 seconds ?

Review (Part 1)
Introduction
UPDATE 20170125: I got the final retail unit (engineering sample before) so some parts of the review have been updated.
This is the UHANS U300.
Hardware
Powered by a Mediatek MT6750T SOC clocked at 1.5GHz, this is the fastest device ever released by UHANS, and it might be the best one ever released. You will know why soon. It features 4GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM and a 13MP Rear Camera, unfortunately interpolated to 16MP. Also, it is rated IP65.
Unboxing
Packaging here is weird. An huge package, that might look premium, but in reality it is almost empty. Basic accessories are included: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/2A USB Charger, 1x SIM Card Tray Eject Tool, 1x User Manual and the Smartphone (of course). A plastic screen protector is already applied, no glass screen protector included unlike previous UHANS devices.
Here you can see how big, and empty, the package is.
Talking about the Chassis, it is great. I like the design, as UHANS says this is Mercedes-Benz inspired device, and the build quality is higher than average. No imperfections noticed, unlike what happened with the engineering sample, and the device feels rocking solid.
In order to be IP65-compliant, every single port should be insulated, and here you can see the waterproof covers.
It is 15.40x7.99x1.17cm, one of the biggest 5.5" device you can find. It weights 228g, impressive considering the metal frame (be careful though, everything else is made of plastic) and 4750mAh of battery.
On the front side there is a Standard Flat Display (not 2.5D) and the upper front side of the device features the standard set of things with some extras: a Front-Facing Camera supported by a Single Flash LED, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. Is the Notification LED here? Yes, it is, but supports only one color: green.
I won't talk about the Notification LED in the Software paragraph because it isn't customizable at all. Here you can see how it looks like.
On the lower front side there isn't anything at all, on-screen software keys are used.
On the back side there is the Leather Back Cover (not-removable), claimed to be "Real Italian Leather". I have tested the leather using a pretty simple method, a water-test. "Drop a small amount of water on the good, as real leather absorbs moisture.". Result? Nothing happens, so i can't confirm that this is real leather.
The upper rear side of the device features the Camera Sensor supported by a Dual-LED Flashlight (not Dual-Tone), and the compact, rounded, Fingerprint Scanner with a nice opaque black color.
On the lower rear side there is the UHANS logo together with the Speaker hole.
Device
Screen
Thankfully UHANS choose to use a good screen on this device, with nice colors, high brightness and good white balance. Nothing to complain about it.
Light Sensor does not support smooth light changes, struggling to get an accurate value indoors. This is its maximum brightness. Outdoors it provides a nice viewing experience.
Viewing Angles are as good as you would expect from an IPS screen.
Together with the good screen, there is also a good multitouch panel. 10-points supported here.
Camera
Even though UHANS choose to use a nice Panasonic MN34152 rear camera sensor (one of my favorites for Mediatek Devices), it doesn't work so great here. The Auto-Focus motor is noisy (a lot). Image Quality is decent though.
"HDR off" on the left and "HDR on" on the right. HDR photos are just brighter, no real HDR.
Macro Photos seems to be great, when you manage to get a proper focus on the object.
As regards the Flashlight, it is buggy (software not fully optimized yet), not synced with the shot and messes up the photos color accuracy, but surprisingly bright.
As regards Video Recording, 1080p videos are recorded at 30FPS, but as you may notice there is an issue with color accuracy. If you want to see the real colors, check my OUKITEL U20 Plus Camcorder Test, recorded in the same time together with the U300.
Front Camera is a Wide-Angle variant OmniVision OV5648. Again, color accuracy seems to be messed up. Even with the Flashlight (on the right), everything looks weird, with a noticeable pink spot on the left side of the photo. It makes my cat looking so bad.
Audio
Speaker's Quality on this device, unlike previous UHANS devices, is great, a good amount of low-frequencies is here (finally) and the Volume is high.
As regards the Microphone, it is good enough with no issues as regards its quality. Everyone was able to hear me correctly while in-call.
Earpiece quality is decent, slightly muffled, but i may know what causes this issue (or better, disadvantage), they are probably using a water filter on the earpiece for the IP65 certification.
GPS
The GPS Antenna is sufficient. Considering the Cloudy Sky during this test, i can't complain about the result.
Weather Photo
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
There is a small issue though, unlike the engineering sample, on the retail unit the signal is not 100% stable.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity just slightly lower than the declared one. (declared 4750mAh, real ~4650mAh).
This is the Geekbench Battery Test, i don't think it is necessary to say something about this test. It talks by itself. WiFi ON (connected), Mobile Data ON (disconnected), Medium Mobile Signal and Minimum Brightness.

As regards battery charging times, the 5V/2A charger isn't super-fast to charge this huge battery, but it is still better than just 1A. There is no Mediatek Pump Express support.
Software
Unlike previous UHANS devices, this time they choose to use completely clean Android 6.0 release providing a buttery smooth experience in almost all menus and apps, similar to Nexus/Pixel devices, even though there is some Mediatek stuff here.
Just like other last-gen Mediatek Devices, there are some typical features such as Gestures, Scheduled Power On/Off, etc…
Unfortunately there is no Compass/Magnetometer neither Gyroscope sensors.
As already said before, even though there is a Notification LED, it isn't customizable at all.
The Fingerprint Scanner can be initialized as easy as on all Android 6.0 devices, and its accuracy is great with almost lightning fast unlock speed.
Just like on the OUKITEL U20 Plus (pretty similar software, interesting coincidence), there are many customizable fingerprint features.

Review (Part 2)
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
NOTE: If you see "WIND" (Operator Name) on some screenshots, that's my secondary SIM with no Mobile Data, Signal and Speed Tests are made using my Primary SIM Card. This is only used for minor tests.
UHANS provides full european bands support, with 4G Band 20 (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it). My 4G connection was working just fine, with decent speed and pretty stable signal.
WiFi 5GHz is supported here, and seems to work great with my 802.11n Dual-Band Connection. It isn't able to get full speed (100/20), but it is still a bit higher than 2.4GHz speed, and also higher than most other devices i have reviewed. Connected at 81MBps.

AndroBench – eMMC Performance is decent, high read speed and medium write speed.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – 3D performance is good enough to provide a smooth gaming experience.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), but somehow lower than MT6737T. Software Optimizations are required.

As an average score, i can say that this MT6750 (especially the "T" version) CPU is an huge improvement compared to the previous MT6753, probably the best cheap CPU ever made by Mediatek.
Conclusions
This conclusions paragraph has been entirely rewritten, primarily because i managed to get a retail unit of the device instead of the damaged engineering sample. So, what to say about this device. First of all, the design is simply something unique. I like it a lot, and the build quality makes it almost perfect. Why i say almost? Because the device isn't completely made of Metal, only the frame is made of Titanium, everything else is made of plastic.
Unfortunately both cameras do not work as i might have expected, both engineering sample and retail unit shared the same loss of quality so well it is clear that you can't consider this a camera-phone, but it still provides some nice shots, just do not expect superb quality.
Everything else is OK, the software needs lot of optimization here and there, see the unstable GPS signal, but i am pretty sure that it will get better and better. Currently, it is already stable for daily usage (unless you use some Navigation Software, where you might get some issues).
So, do i recommend it? Yes, i admit that the price is high for this device though, so i might recommend you to get it when the price gets even lower.

Well we are still talking about a Mediatek MT6750T, you can't expect superb performance, it is a good mid-range device though (excluding that its price isn't as low as it should be)

Most important for a development perspective : what about bootloader lock status ?

99% of Mediatek Devices made by these not so well-known companies are not locked by default, so it isn't always worth mentioning it.
Also, a separated Development & Support thread will be opened with all extra info.

Well i am not sure about this because the Engineering Sample was working perfect while the Retail Unit had some difficulties in locking satellites, unstable.

An OTA Update has been released, 20170221.
Do not forget to update your device and i recommend you to wipe data/factory reset in order to avoid any possible issue.

Everything you may want to know about UHANS U300’s battery tests
For a battery, bigger size means more power. Then how big a 4750mAh battery is?
Based on the pictures, the battery measures around 81 * 63.3 mm, accounting for 42% of the device’s body (154.8 * 80 mm), which is quite impressive compared to the average percentage of around 30%.
However, data has always spoken better than pictures. UHANS’s engineer has made several tests to justify how a 4750mAh Li-polymer battery actually performs. Five Samples marked as A, B, C, D and E were taken for the sake of accuracy.
Test 1: Time required for a full charge under 5V/2A
Results:
l Shortest charging time-sample D: 4 hours and 30 minutes
l Time for full charging sample B and C: 5 hours and 22 minutes
l Time for full charging sample A and E: 4 hours and 49 minutes
The average time for full charge is 5 hours on average.
Test 2: On-screen time test(50% screen brightness)
Figures turned out that the power discharges in a stable rate and the battery last for 21 hours
even with the WIFI, Bluetooth, VPN, automatic light control switched on.
Test 3: On-screen time with video playing (50% screen brightness and 60% volume).
Video-watching is a quite power consuming activity, however, you can tell from the chart that UHANS U300 performs well in battery durability. Battery drains at a steady speed, and it will work continuously for 18 hours with WIFI, Bluetooth, VPN, automatic light control switched on and SIM installed on.
Test 4: On-screen time with music playing (60% volume)
With WIFI, Bluetooth, VPN turned on and earphone plugged in, U300 keeps on working for 86 hours while music continuously played.
After all these tests and measurements, it’s fair to say that the 4750mAh device will put you through for at least 2 days of regular usage.​

Thanks... I have an FNF iFive Mini 4S and a Leagoo M8 so switching between them drives me mad. One day I'll learn to re-compile systemui.apk to fix this...

Introduction
NOTE: Most parts of this review have been taken from my M8 (not PRO) review since they are identical except for the Camera and Motherboard.
This is the LEAGOO M8 Pro.
Hardware
Named as PRO, this is the 4G variant of the good M8 (not PRO), with an MT6737 SOC instead of the outdated MT6580 which means that this device has 4G support. Everything else is exactly the same, with the same Main Rear Camera (8MP), 2GB of RAM (DDR3_1600 instead of DDR3_1066), 16GB of ROM, and so on.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with some accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Certificate, 1x 3.5mm Earphones (not in-ear) and the Smartphone (of course). No TPU Cover is included, and a plastic screen protector is pre-applied.
Talking about the dimensions, this isn't the smallest device available, a real phablet in my opinion. It is 15.7x8.03x0.94cm, with medium bezels, and weights 221g, a bit heavy.
As already said, the design is the same found on Mx devices, a nice metal chassis, with not-so-rounded corners and solid build quality.
On the front side there is the usual 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. No Notification LED is here.
On the lower front side there isn't anything at all, on-screen keys are used instead.
On the back side there is the removable back cover, that looks awesome in my opinion, even though it doesn't feel premium.
The upper rear side of the device features the slightly protruding Dual Camera Sensor supported by a Single-LED Flashlight, together with the fingerprint scanner.
Here you can see the M8 Pro together with the M8.
On the lower rear side there is the Model Name together with the usual large speaker hole.
Device
Screen
Screen Quality is great, especially considering that this is HD-only with low pixel density. I wasn't able to notice any pixel. I don't like the deafult color temperature though, MiraVision is here luckily.
The Light Sensor supports almost-smooth light changes, with a proper auto-brightness management. This is its maximum brightness. Excellent Brightness.
Viewing Angles matches IPS screen capabilities, with no major issues.
5-points multi-touch panel has been used here.
Camera
NOTE: Being the main camera sensor identical to the one found on the M8 (not PRO), here you will find the same photos. I have only tested the Blur Effect and the Flashlight (no more Dual-LED).
A nice amount of details is here, low-light shots are decent and the level of noise isn't really high.
"HDR off" on the left and "HDR on" on the right. No great improvements noticed between the two modes.
Macros are not great too, unlike Wide photos. Auto-Focus management needs to be improved.
Unfortunately the Flashlight has been downgraded, now Single-LED, and seems to be weaker, barely enough for low-light shots.
Here some photos taken using the Blur Effect. (or bokeh if you prefer)
As regards Video Recording, 720p videos are decent, with no serious stuttering or low-light framerate issues, but the resolution is lower compared to the M8 (not PRO), no more 1080p.
Front Camera records sufficient photos for video-chat and occasional shots. Also, it seems to be a Wide-Angle variant.
Audio
Luckily, the Speaker Quality doesn't any previous Mx device. It is much more powerful here, even though it still lacks low frequencies. It isn't the best i have ever tried, but it might be one of the loudest without distortion on maximum volume.
As regards the Microphone, it works decently well in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...), and the earpiece is loud enough (not too much though) to be used in any condition.
GPS
Confirming my theory about the MT6737 devices, also this one doesn't have a good GPS signal reception. Mediatek messed up this SOC somehow.

Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Finally a real upgrade compared to the M8 (not PRO), 4G Support is here thanks to the MT6737 SOC.
Signal Reception is accurate, with pretty standard 4G speed i got also on other devices. Remember that i test the 4G connection in the same position i test all other devices so this can be a good reference point to make comparisions.
WiFi 5GHz isn't supported here. With my 2.4GHz network, i was able to reach almost 30mbps, connected at 65mbps, just like on the M8 (not PRO), so i assume that the WiFi Antenna isn't so good.
Battery Life
As always, i have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity is slightly lower compared to the declared value (declared 3500mAh, real ~3380mAh).
This is the PCMark Work 2.0 Battery Benchmark, as expected the battery runtime is lower compared to the M8. (more power required to handle 4G + faster CPU/GPU)
As regards battery charging times, the 5V/1A charger doesn't allow any fast charging. More than 3 hours are required to charge the device completely, a bit disappointing. Even with a faster charger you won't get any improvement, this is a software limit.
Software
Just like previous Mx devices, also this one is using FreemeOS 6.0 (based on Android 6.0) that provides some extra features to the OS without customizing lots of stuff. Basically you can get rid of almost all FreemeOS apps by using an alternative launcher.
All Mediatek features are still there such as Gestures, Scheduled Power On/Off, etc…
Even though the OS has been customized, it feels as smooth as others that haven't been customized.
This is a Malware-Bytes Scan, with a malware detected in the Dual-Tag app.
Fingerprint Scanner management is as easy as on all Android 6.0 devices. I admit that you won't find the best fingerprint scanner on this device, but it is still better than nothing, just do not expect lightning fast unlock times and perfect accuracy.

Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is as low as all other MT6737 devices.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is decent, write speed lower than read speed. (as expected)
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – As you can see, 3D performance is barely sufficient for smooth gaming.

Following my M8 (not PRO) conclusions, i can confirm that this is still a great device considering the price target, and if you need 4G support with better overall performance, this is a device that needs to be considered.
Of course i'm not saying that this is perfect, there are some downgrades compared to the M8 (not PRO) such as the Weaker Flashlight, Lower Camcorder Resolution and Worse GPS Signal, but everything else is just fine.

Very nice device, one can remove the navigation buttons of the screen by "parameter smart / navigation bar / on" and it is really good for GPS programs.
GPS is OK even inside.
The bluethoo is OK.
The photos are good.
The battery was loaded yesterday at 100% around 10h00 and this morning 9h00 it is at 60%, the use since yesterday was the setting of the account, download by wifi, etc.
In comparison for the same use the Samsung note 2 is at 40%, the rating 3 at 40%, the UHANS A101 at 20%.
You have to buy a silicone protection because the back touches the camera (negative point).

Unless the app stays active even after being disabled, it is safe to use.
You lucky that your GPS works fine inside, mine doesn't.

I did tests and I think the antenna makes the difference.
For the gps, as for the wifi, reception is better when the phone is in "horizontal" landscape.
In WIFI:
In vertical position the LEAGOO M8 pro 1 scales, in horizontal position 3 scales.
In vertical position, samsung note 2 and 3 are on 3 scales, the UHANS A101 is at 1 or 2 scales. Horizontal for 3 phones, 1 scale upgrade.

For both questions, the answer is no unfortunately.

Introduction
This is the GRETEL GT6000.
Hardware
Joining the battery-phone area, this GT6000 from GRETEL isn't easy to notice between all the others already available, mostly because there isn't any specific feature that makes it different from others. It is powered by a Mediatek MT6737 (unfortunately not the T variant), with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, and a 5.5" HD screen produced by SHARP. Of course, as the name suggests, it is powered by a 6000mAh battery.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with some accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5/7/9/12V USB Pump Express Charger, 1x User Guide, 1x TPU Cover, 1x Plastic Screen Protector, and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied, and, unfortunately, it doesn't include an OTG Cable (for power-sharing).
The chassis feels really solid, much better than the GRETEL A9 tested before, with a decent design (not unique, but neither annoying) and an overall clean look.
It is 15.45x7.70x1.12cm, a pretty standard size for a 5.5" inches battery phone, with a weight of 235g, not so light, joining the bulky but long lasting battery phones family.
On the front side there is the standard (well nowadays almost all devices have it) 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera supported by a Single-LED Flashlight, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. No Notification LED is here.
As regards the lower front side, there is the fingerprint scanner (that can't be pressed, works as a soft-touch button) with the menu and back buttons on its sides.
On the back side there is the unibody metal chassis with the usual plastic bands on the top and the button.
The upper rear side of the device features the Dual Camera Sensor supported by a Dual-LED - Single-Tone Flashlight, with an unknown black thing on the left side of the camera. (Laser Autofocus?)
On the lower rear side, excluding the usual GRETEL logo with other certifications, there isn't anything at all because the Speaker is positioned on the lower side of the device.
Device
Screen
As regards the screen quality, it is as good as all SHARP IPS panels. Pretty warm colors, accurate color reproduction, and overall good sharpness. It is still HD-only, and with its size of 5.5 inches the pixel density isn't superb.
Its light sensor supports smooth light changes with a maximum brightness of ~400lux. Probably the brightest SHARP panel i have ever seen.
Viewing Angles are as good as you would expect from a good IPS screen.
Camera
GRETEL choose to include a Panasonic MN34152 for the back camera, together with an unknown secondary camera sensor used for the Bokeh effect. The camera is really good actually, i have been always impressed by the performance of this camera sensor, and also on this device, it does not disappoint.
The software seems to increase the noise reduction a bit too much even in bright conditions, but i think this can be easily improved with an OTA Update.
HDR seems to work great, probably better than most devices with the same camera sensor. Photos taken without HDR do not look that bad either.
The flashlight is really powerful as expected from a Dual-LED config., probably also too much as you can notice.
When it comes to the Dual Camera usage...well...i am not an photographer or any expert in this area. Here you can see some shots using the BOKEH option. It seems like a software effect to be honest.
As regards Video Recording, the camera shots videos at 720p30 with a pretty stable frame-rate. This is the maximum supported by the MT6737 SOC.
Unlike some devices, this device features a really powerful flashlight for the front camera too. It makes the difference when it comes to low-light shots, or selfies. It is still a 5MP GalaxyCore Camera Sensor though, so do not expect superb quality.
Audio
The Speaker Quality is good, still with a lack of low-frequencies, but the overall balance between volume and clarity is sufficient. Not the best, neither the worst.
As regards the Microphone, it works decently well in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...), and the earpiece is loud enough (not too much though) to be used in any condition.
GPS
GPS Quality is decent, able to lock satellites even indoors even if the number of locked satellites isn't really high.

Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Providing full european bands support (with 4G Band 20), the device was able to keep a stable connection to my 4G Network, with decent speeds (considering other devices tested in the same place) and mid-high signal.
WiFi 5GHz is supported (rare on MT6737). Connected at 81Mbps, i was able to reach almost ~45Mbps. I guess this is the maximum for the poor built-in SOC, it is still better than using a 2.4GHz network.
Battery Life
Luckily, PCMark run just fine also on this device even though it is running Android Nougat. Other Mediatek Devices with older releases of Nougat (and also some with Marshmallow) caused the Benchmark to stop by itself after some hours. The result is decent, 16 hours, 100% to 20%, it definitely lasts a lot even on high-usage.
As regards battery charging times, the device comes with a Mediatek Pump Express Charger that goes up to 12V (but only 9V is used, SOC limit). The result is an ultra-fast charging process, but even without it, using a 5V/2.4A charger, it isn't too slow to charge.
Software
Thankfully GRETEL doesn't include any Custom OS on any device, and this one runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with almost-up-to-date (April 2017) security patches. There isn't any bloatware preinstalled, and the device feels pretty smooth while running basic tasks.
Even though most Mediatek Features are there (such as Gestures), MiraVision is missing. Considering the pretty warm color temperature of the screen panel, i guess this is something GRETEL should enable with the next OTA Update.
Unfortunately there is no Gyroscope or Magnetometer/Compass, but it was expected considering the price target of this device.
No malwares detected with Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware using latest definitions.
As regards the Fingerprint Scanner management, it works pretty well with fast unlock times and no accuracy issues.

Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is as low as all other MT6737 devices.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is decent, write speed lower than read speed. (as expected)
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – As you can see, 3D performance is barely sufficient for smooth gaming.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (4x Cortex-A53), enough to handle almost every type of activity.

Conclusions
Well, this is the second GRETEL device i manage to test, and i must admit that compared to the first device release by the company (GRETEL A9), i can notice an huge amount of improvements, especially regarding build quality. Of course this was expected, the first device released by a company, most of the times, isn't perfect.
With its decent camera sensor and massive battery life, i can consider this device as one of the most well-made battery phones for the price target. Something that i do not like though, is the lack of a Notification LED.
So...do i recommend it? It depends on your requirements. If you are looking for a cheap battery-phone with no interest to performance, then yes.

Alberto96, your reviews are really great, I have just one comment. I am looking for device with good battery, so I watch PCMark results - but you didn't mention display settings. In another review I have seen that results with low brightness were more than twice longer. Are you using lowest brightness too?

GRETEL GT6000 Infinite boot
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a GRETEL GT6000 for it's awesome battery,
sadely this phone is hard to root.
I try many & many solutions but no one root the phone and now my phone is in infinite boot with message "Orange state you're device has been unlocked and can't be trusted Your device will boot in 5 seconds"
I can't connect to adb or fastboot, I can't boot in recovery (volume up and power), in fact I can't do anything.
I try to pull of the battery but it didn't change nothing.
The last thing I was doing before this, is to flash a custom recovery.img (made with both official rom and a TWRP rom).
I'm hopeless & I'll be glad if somenone have an idea to share it here.

Review (part 1)
Introduction
This is the BLUBOO S1.
Hardware
Together with all Xiaomi Mi MIX clones released in the last few months, this BLUBOO S1 might not get the level of attention compared to already released models, but in reality this differs from others and might be considered as a new idea of the Mi Mix clone. It is powered by a Mediatek Helio P25 (seems to be real this time), with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM.
Unboxing
Even though the package looks enormous for the device, it doesn't include lots of accessories as you might expect: 1x Type-C USB Cable, 1x 3.5mm to Type-C Adapter, 1x 5V/2A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Card, 1x Bluboo Customer Paper, 1x Glass Screen Protector. 1x TPU Case, 1x SIM Card Tray Remover and the Smartphone (of course). There is no screen protector pre-applied.
Based on the Xiaomi Mi Mix design, also this one comes with a thin bezels design but when it comes to build quality everything changes. The chassis is completely made of plastic thus you can notice some crackling sound if you try to squeeze the device slightly but still it doesn't feel that bad considering the materials. Also, the whole device has been covered with an oleophobic coating so it is almost impossible to leave fingerprint marks on it, pretty impressive.
It is 14.40x7.56x0.86mm, as compact as other 5.5" inches devices following the same design so compact and ergonomically perfect, with a weight of 170g.
On the front side there is the usual 2.5D glass covering the FHD IPS panel. It is easy to notice how thin bezels but, due to the white color, there is an annoying black frame that interferes with the great design. The upper front side features a real earpiece (unlike the Mi Mix) and the sensors hole that includes both light and proximity sensors.
As regards the lower front side, there is the Fingerprint Scanner built-in into the Home Button, it can't be pressed physically though, and the front-facing camera on the right corner. There is some wasted space where they could have added some touch buttons.
On the back side there is a glossy back cover that seems to be made of Plastic.
The upper rear side of the device features the Dual Camera Sensor supported by the Flashlight (i am not able to recognize the amount of LEDs) and nothing else. Except from the BLUBOO logo in the center, there isn't anything at all since the speaker is located on the bottom.
Device
Screen
Not being a fan of AMOLED screen, the presence of an IPS panel on this device made me consider it pretty unique compared to other clones. The panel itself is not the best i have ever seen unfortunately, with a noticeable lack of contrast, but with a good white balance and brightness.
Its light sensor doesn't support smooth light changes so do not except an efficient auto-brightness mechanism, and its maximum brightness is enough for decent outdoor usage.
Viewing Angles are as good as you might expect from an IPS panel, nothing to complain about.
Camera
Just like on the BLUBOO S8, also this S1 features the same sensors, a Sony IMX135 (13MP) as a rear camera sensor and a Sony IMX190 (8MP?) as a front camera sensor. Do they work the same on this device? Well...no. It seems that the S1 features a wider-angle lens plus color accuracy is better. I think the new ISP included on the Helio P25 helps a bit for the latter.
Generically speaking, most photos do not look that bad, with a decent amount of details and not too much noise, but sometimes in case of high-light conditions such as outdoors, the software doesn't handle the exposure properly, as you can notice in one of the photos attached below. Shooting with HDR mode on solves the issue, but also requires lots of time to take a shot.
Macros look decent with no focus issues, and due to the exposure issue mentioned before, photos taken using the flashlight look darker than usual. Pretty funny, with flashlight you get darker photos, without you get brighter photos...lol.
As regards Video Recording, videos are recorded at 1080p resolution but there is a serious stuttering issue that causes frame-rate to drop constantly without any reason.
The Front-Camera is placed on the lower front side of the device, so you need to shoot photos with the device upside-down for selfies and so on. Color Accuracy is OK, but there is a pretty high level of noise.
Audio
Considering the limited amount of space available inside the device, it is normal to see that the Speaker is not super-powerful when it comes to volume but it is still loud enough, much better compared to the S8, and there is a little amount of low-frequencies.
No issues found with the Microphone, nothing to report about.
GPS
GPS Quality is not good at all unfortunately, with unstable and not accurate signal outdoors, and inexistent signal indoors.

Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Providing full european bands support (with 4G Band 20), the device was able to keep a stable connection to my 4G Network, with excellent signal reception and able to reach the same speed i reach on my daily Redmi Note 4. High quality 4G antennas have been used.
The same applies for the WiFi. With 5GHz networks support, connected at 135Mbps, the device is able to use my VDSL internet bandwidth completely, matching my laptop's WiFi speed. Well Done BLUBOO.
Battery Life
Just like what happened on the S8, also on the S1 the battery capacity doesn't match the declared value, but here the lack of capacity is even higher. (3500mAh declared, real ~2980mAh)
As expected, due to the lack of battery capacity, also battery life is pretty low, reaching only 7h 12m with the PCMark Battery Life test.
I don't know why BLUBOO hides this feature, but i have discovered that even though they include a standard 5V/2A charger, the device is compatible with Mediatek Pump Express up to 9V, so you can quick charge the device. Here you can see the proof, using my LeEco's charger.
Software
Thankfully BLUBOO choose to use a clean Android OS for this device, with no custom UIs or anything weird. It runs on the usual Mediatek AOSP based on Android 7.0 Nougat with August 2017 security patches. Unfortunately, just like what happened on the S8, also on the S1 there is an huge amount of bloarware pre-installed.
Even with that amount of bloatware, the device runs pretty smooth and doesn't stutter even while running intensive tasks.
Just like most Mediatek devices, also this one features the usual set of features such as Gestures, Double tap-to-wake and MiraVision.
Both Gyroscope and Compass/Magnetometer sensors are here.
As expected, when lots of bloatware is pre-installed, malwares are detected. Scan run using Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware.
Its fingerprint scanner is accurate and pretty fast to unlock the device, it isn't lightning fast but still it is one of the best available.

Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – The Mali-T880MP2 GPU together with a FHD screen is simply maxed out, so some scores might not look that high.
AndroBench – Internal Storage performance is good, even though i might have expected an higher write speed.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – Unexpectedly, this benchmark seem to run pretty well on this GPU.
GeekBench – Single-Core performance seem to be fine matching other devices with the same CPU, but multi-core performance is really low meaning that something is reducing its real performance. It can't be thermal throttling because the device was not hot during this test.

GFXBench – Being an hardcore benchmark, it is normal to not see great results here, but it is a good point of referral for GPU's raw performance.
PCMark – Balanced Results for an Helio P25, matching most mid-range devices.

Vellamo – The same lack of multi-core performance is noticeable here, it should be over 2700 if it was running properly.
Conclusions
This 2017 can be defined as the year of clones, with lots of devices copying each other and unfortunately lack of original design. Can this one differ from all other clones? Well, partially yes, thanks to the lightweight plastic chassis and an IPS screen, but it doesn't mean that it is better, or better, it is better for some things but worse for others.
Its high-quality Mobile and WiFi antennas make it one of the best device i have ever reviewed when it comes to signal reception, but the GPS antenna is disappointing and can't be ignored.
I still like the idea of including using this thin bezels design to make devices compact, but OEMs should also not ignore important parts of the device, otherwise it causes the choice to go for a standard full-bezels design.
Would i recommend it? Just like what happened with the S8, i can't recommend it right now because the OS is infected and i don't want anyone to use a device running on an infected operating system, but if BLUBOO fixes this issue that seems to be widespread for all models, then yes. I will keep following the situation, and if they fix the issue, i will write it here.

A couple of questions, do you notice a huge battery drain when double tap wake up setting on? It's so damn sensitive! time to time i feel vibration on my back jeans pocket when i walk it shouldn't be active when proximity sensor it's acitve. Any workround ? i like this feature.

Double-tap to wake keeps the touchscreen turned on, on such a power-hungry device with relatively small battery that's normal to notice some battery drain.
No workarounds available.

I have this crup 45 days and from the first day the WiFi Disconnected after 2 seconds!!!

i know that i am not the only one with charging problem with another usb-c cable than the provided one. There is other exemples on youtube.
Do you find a working cable? it's not a problem of length of the connector, i have modified one cable to be longer that the origin, and it still not works
