Have you tried rebooting the phone? Or seen if any apps that produce an overlay are running? Like a night mode type app?

Hmm, no clue then. You may have to do a factory reset. I can't recall reading about this specific issue for Oreo

Sorry if this is a stupid question but is there an app that has settings so that when you plug in your charger it automatically turns brightness up and turns wifi on?
Tasker.

Thanks. Downloaded... took me about 5 minutes to figure out but worked exactly the way I needed it to.
As the title says, my choice to let the phone sleep while charging won't stick. Has anyone else ran into this issue?
My phone is stock rooted and I can't seem to find an app that is causing the setting to change.

I figured it out. It was the recent update to extended controls.

Hi s9ortner, did you manage to discover a workaround? I have the same issue, and agree its very annoying!

This has been bugging me for weeks.
With your info, I made a toggle for the "Stay Awake" option. Now it seems to stay off through a reboot.
Thanks!

System settings - Wi-Fi - Keep WiFi on during sleep - Never.
Or use tasker
Or use WiFi toggle

I pressed "install" for tasker and didn't realize it was a paid app, lol I'd rather not spend 6.50$ for a simple toggle, but thanks for the suggestion (s) XD

Oh it does tons more. It'll toggle if it senses you left the area. It will use whatever network you want in said area. It does a crap ton. But yeah its best to live it.

I like this, I only wish there were more delay times, but i'll try it and see whether I like the built in "wifi off when sleep" setting, thanks!

Hello everybody I just checked the recommended app (better wifi) but unfortunately there is no option just to turn off wifi automatically when not in range and that's what I'm looking for, any suggestion?

The settings in Better Wifi on/off do exactly that. Mine is set to only stay on with whitelisted SSID. There is an off if not connected, and many other settings. I think you missed some settings in the app.
As the title says, I'm not able to turn on blue light filter from settings or quick tiles. Nothing happens when I toggle the feature.

Nope. Can't access options either. Can't even toggle it on.

To fix go to Settings, Accessibility, Vision, and turn off Color adjustment.

I find it useful that's it's built into the device and I use it. I had to use a program called twilight to achieve the same results on my previous note 4. I'm one of those people that blue light affects at night so it's win for me.

Thanks! I have a Galaxy S4 running on a DarkLord N7 ROM and I didn't know why it wasn't turning on!
Any trick to lower the brightness?
When I read in bed even the lowest setting, with night mode, is way too bright. Much brighter than my other phones.

I have found out adaptive dims the display much lower at 0% than when off. so I use adaptive display only to make the screen darker.
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
I will second theBeachBoy on turning adaptive brightness on. That will dim the display even more than the lowest brightness setting.
