It looks like some parts stuck and some parts didn't. Anything I can do about this, or am I gonna have to live with it?
http://i.imgur.com/ZrtP4.jpg
honestly I don't see the need for it on the back cover itself. It's texture makes it difficult to stick a layer on it to begin with - but it's such a flimsy piece of plastic that will probably bend and very unlikely to have any damages to it even when the phone drops.
Happened to me too, throwing it in an otterbox(just wanted extra protection) so this doesn't affect me too much.

wait, is this with the screen protector on?
or this is what it looks like when you take it off?

Yes, it's on. I applied it yesterday and thought it would get better, but it didn't.
That's how mine looks too. There's nothing you can do about it it seems. I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and still looks like that. It definitely has to do with the textured back... I'm going to just peel mine off and if it ever gets damaged, I'll just buy a new one.
Welp, it says this now on the BSE website:
Application Note: We have found the best method for applying the battery door Skin is without application solution. Simply damp your finger tips, align the Skin to the battery door and squeegee the air out from the center out. Any uneven effect will settle out within 24 hours.

Did the bse skin come with side pieces? If yes, then did they for correctly on that lte version?

Mine came with side bits that fit the GSM model.
Yikes! Good to know. :S
I'd just get a new back. That's... hmm.
Hey guys. If you apply the battery door Skin to your Galaxy Nexus with the standard wet method and it turned out like the above pictures, we'd be happy to send you a replacement back Skin so you can reapply it with the dry method. It looks much better when done that way. Just open a support ticket at bestskinsever com/support and we'll get you taken care of.
Thanks!

We honestly haven't had the opportunity to confirm the fit first hand yet but it should fit. If you're interested in giving us some feedback on the fit we can arrange to send you a sample. Just contact our support team and mention this post.

I went ahead and put together a discount for the message board to share. Hopefully we're not stepping on any toes here. If so, mods please delete.
The code "XDABSE1612" will get you the same deal as our end of year promo. 25% Off and free shipping. It's only good through Friday though.

+1. michael at it again with excellent customer service!!! keep it up mike!!!
I can confirm that it fits the lte nexus. Its not 100% but the fit is pretty good. You would have to look really hard to tell that some seams have a wider gap than other BSE skins I've used.
I also have the extended battery and it fits the cover too. Just doesn't go to the edge. But its hard to tell that it wasn't made for the lte model.
Also apply the back using the dry method and it'll look a lot better.
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback on the LTE version. This is in line with previous feedback we've received. The minimal difference in size between the LTE and GSM models shouldn't be very noticeable with the Skin applied. As it is, the flowing lines of the Galaxy Nexus requires a pattern that includes a little room for error when applying any way. The coverage is still very good and detailed though.

Doh! If you open a ticket with support they can do something for you. Just mention this post.
Michael, two questions.
The edges on the skin are still tacky enough to collect lint. I did not have this issue on my previous devices with BSEs installed. Is there anything I can do to stop this?
Also, even though I used the wet application method for installing the screen skin, it seems as though the glue still stretched enough to cause distortion. Will this eventually even out or do I need to try again?
Thanks.
Howdy dudes and hoes.
Is there any screen protectors that doesn't effect the s-pen input that much? I would like a screen protector, but i don't want my screen to feel like a touchscreen phone from 2007 If that's the case, i'm better of without one.
Well I like invisible shield by zagg 25 year guarantee, strange to begin with but works great with the pen had mine about a month and still looks good
I'm using the Martin Fields one. The protector is unnoticeable (if applied correctly) and the S-pen works really well. It's also highly resistant.
Well, here's the list of screen protectors I used so far :
-original Samsung;
-Cellularline anti-glare;
-3M Vikuiti.
I'm using the 3M for the moment... did spend about three times as much as on a Cellularline one, but oh well... I thought what the hell, everyone's talking about 3M Vikuiti and how good their screen protectors are... Well, IT SUCKS. Grease getting on the screen shield == funny rainbow colors if you look at it from any other angle than 90 degrees . Also, the "spot" is noticeable... the edges are untouched, but more to the middle of the screen, this sort of like grease splotch appears...
I'm going with MOMAX next time. They and Guardline always pleased me. In fact, everyone did... but 3M deserves a hanging.
-----
But as far as I know, no screen protector will impair your ability to use the S Pen. Hell, wrap your S Pen in a screen cleaning cloth... wrap it in five such cloths... then see if it works. I'm telling you : mine did work .

We don't have ZAGG here. The only place I saw them is iStyle, where specific case manufacturers include a ZAGG shield in their packages. At least, I saw one ZAGG shield in a case for the iPod Nano (yeah, that little yet expensive watch that can play music).
I've heard good & bad things about ZAGG... They stretch and revert to their original form (don't know how that is useful)... They tend to turn yellow/blue because over time... Oh well... I'm good with what we do have available here.
I'm curious about the warranty thing, though. Those ZAGG shields from the case I talked about above... the package said you've got life warranty, so you can always go to their store and ask for a replacement if your shield broke/got cut or anything... Their HQ = NOT IN ROMANIA, haha.
-----
For the record, I didn't buy that iPod Nano case to see the ZAGG shield inside. A friend of mine did... just because they were on super-mega-extra promotions, so he could sell them at 15x the price later .

There is, I guess. But it's got drawings on it, so you can't miss it if there is one. Dunno... check unboxing videos on YouTube. I forgot if there is one , but if there it, you just can't miss it, drawings or not (it's probably gonna stick out on one corner or peel itself off if you put your phone in the pocket for multiple times).

That's not true.
The day I got my previous phone (Galaxy Nexus), I didn't throw a screen protector on it. I was gonna do that the day after, and until then, I treated the phone like it was king (kindly placed it down on a pillow or something soft). The next morning : huge scratch on the glass, thank God it was BELOW the screen.
Also, the phone I had before the Nexus : Galaxy S2. Somehow, two dots got "scratched onto" the screen. Like the glass got hit by keys or something. Same thing happened to the Desire...
So, better use a screen protector than to quietly weep later .

No. But you may never now when a grain of sand gets on the screen, you swipe it away and discover the damage some hours after...
Of course, there are exceptions. I think you are just lucky. Or perhaps the one in a thousand exception that can hammer screws down with his phone, while others smash even when gently bumped. It happens...

I know what you mean. I had pre-gorilla glass phones that got scratched if you breathed on them too heavily.
The Note is my second gorilla glass phone and my (dare I say) iPhone's screen it's still good as new. Which is quite handy as I will be selling it soon as there is no way I am going back from Android.

I haven't seen any and I don't think one is necessary. The display has a sapphire coating which if done correflty will hold up to anything you can throw at it. I have a sapphire Crystal on one of my mechanical watches and its never gotten scratched at all after a year of daily use.
Edit: I bought one just to test but I don't intend on using it long term. I'll let you know how it is.
Unlike the other Android Wear devices on the market, this one won't need it.
I would agree that this watch wouldn't need a screen protector, because of the sapphire crystal display. That being said...
You can scratch sapphire. You have to try really hard...but it is possible. I've done it on a mechanical watch of mine, and it drove me crazy...but a gemstone can scratch another gemstone.
THAT BEING SAID...I don't really know what good a screen protector would do with this face. Unless it's also made out of sapphire, what good would it do? OK...I'm being facetious (damn...had to Google that)...but you are also "talking" to a guy that HATES screen protectors. Like...A LOT...never had one on a phone, tablet, or watch that I've ever owned...

You can scratch sapphire, but you need a gem of equal or greater H rating. So unless you plan to throw the watch in a bag of saphhire crystals or diamonds, we should all be good.

Like I said...you have to try pretty hard to scratch sapphire...but it is easier than you think. If you or your SO have any diamond jewelry...that will do it. Also, any diamond tipped tools will also do it. It is possible...however unlikely in day to day living (minus the diamond jewelry part). And again...if something can scratch the sapphire, it sure as heck will go through whatever screen protector you would have on it...
So the screen protector I ordered from NewEgg by ilumshield or whatever the name was got canceled because they didn't ship it so I guess I'll try elsewhere.

Ive had a mechnical now for 8 years with sapphire crystal, and I mountain bike, backpack, and white water kayak with the watch on,and not a speck. Screen looks brand new. The bezel is marked up a bit. If this is truly sapphire we are golden.

I just got this today from Amazon, its a TGSP that's has 98% coverage on the glass its not quite perfect edge to edge. It feels nice and seems to resist finger prints more than the standard sapphire screen. Pictures will be posted below as well. The install was so easy it was a joke, quality seems good so far. You can also see my super awesome Nexus 6 in the reflection of the watch because I used it to take the pictures lol

You use your shirt? I tend to be in the safe side and always carry 1-2 microfiber cloth with me. I had tons of them that I bought for my DSLR and previous phones because smudges really bother me. I'll let you know how it works out; if I forget just quote me on here so I get a notification.
Just a little update the TGSP still shows smudges but not as much as the sapphire do now that's out of the bag
I got the same screen protector as above and removed it after a day. I found that the additional thickness of the glass protector on such a tightly manufactured face made a big difference. It reduced the already barely sufficient visibility in sunlight, provided a channel for dust and debris to gather on my watch face, and reduced clarity ever so slightly.
Nothing wrong with the actual protector, it just wasn't for me. I think I will probably have to go naked which I don't like because I'm not sure I would prefer a non glass protector.

Hi, lets put aside "lol it will blow your house" thing...
The main reason i want this phone is screen (well also having a samsung vr would be interesting)
What do u guys think besides that what reasons u guys wont recommend me to buy this phone?
thanks!
It's the best phone currently made, so really no reason not to get it. I think the main thing I don't like is the non-removable battery, which had Samsung put a removable battery in it then the whole recall thing would have been as simple as them sending us a new battery. But overall there is very little to complain about with the phone and a ton of things to like.
The lack of IR blaster is very disappointing.
The credibility of Samsung after the recall.
Question of future updates.
Light leak under the curved glass.
Saying all that I'm still waiting patently for my replacement..
Doesn't make wet coffee only dry. Makes a mess of washing my car.
BUY IT and love it......I have never been so black and white before. Just try and buy one, its hell!
Go go go and get the Note 7........

Anyone that lacks mental bandwidth to use a real phone. In that case I recommend that person to go buy an Iphone where it requires nothing more than swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe and press.
the only reason I can think about somebody not geting a note 7 is not having the money to do it.......
How common is this "light leak" issue? My note gets here tomorrow and I want to make sure it doesn't have any build quality issues. I went through 3 s6s and got stuck with one with a wobbly home button and asymmetrical screen.

My previous Note 7 had the gap (the same gap described as expansion in the user manual and did indeed leak light) Replacement does not have the expansion gap at all, in fact it is just like the S7 Edge in that it is bonded entirely. Very happy with my replacement.

So when I get the phone I just need to check the sides where it curves and make sure the glass is sealed tightly against the metal with no gap?

Also.. Anyone have any luck with a protector working with a case yet? I want the neo hybrid case.
Curved screen makes it almost impossible to get a good screen protector and especially a good screen protector/case combination that plays nice. No IR blaster, no removable battery, audio is pretty crappy (standard crappy, not particularly crappy compared to other phones that aren't enhanced like the HTC and LG flagships), curves on screen get annoying when using s-pen, probably will never get s-off... That's about all I can think of. Oh, and occasional lag which I don't think should happen in today's day and age with these processors and RAM amounts. It's probably just Samsung and their TouchWiz... I think the HTC 10 and LG V10 seem smoother, honestly. Not a huge deal though.

This is only reason I can really think of depending on what you are coming from. I had one before the recall and that one was even worse than this one. I get this with my Nexus 6P which is a year old. I love everything else about it, dunno what people are doing to get 4-5 hours of SOT differently than I am.
Its the best phone out bar none.
That said i find the edge screen useless and annoying...cant even use a glass screen protector. I would prefer a flat screen.
I would prefer a flat 6" screen actually lol.
Would be nice if it had front firing stereo speakers also....my nexus 6 and 6P kill the note in sound.
Other than that i couldnt think of anything else someone may not like about it.

Don't get the Note 7. You've already talked yourself into how terrible it is. In fact, don't get any phone, I don't think there is ever going to be one made that would keep you anywhere near glass half full stage.
The phone comes with screen protectosr preinstalled. Both back and front.
One main reason I can think of at least for me is sound quality. Sound quality is not the greatest by far. Hands cover the speaker a lot when holding it. Although it is because the phone is water resistant but still. There is a dual speaker mod though that I have yet to try that could help with this
i have the phone and i like it, but there are definitely reasons not to buy it.
1: you can get a OnePlus 3 for less than half the price, and the only areas the Note 7 "wins" in are subjective stuff like screen quality (i don't believe the human eye can see the difference between 1080p and quad HD) or "i like having a stylus". the Note 7 camera is better, but mostly in low light situation, and the gap isn't nearly as big as Android blogs (and Samsung owners) make it out to be.
2: TouchWiz has cleaned up but it's still not as smooth as just about every other OS out there. people hate on LG, well i'm using a LG V20 right now and it's definitely smoother and snappier than the Note 7. OnePlus 3 too, is smoother than the Note 7.
with that said, the phone IS beautiful to look at. the edge display give it a really cool bezel-less effect, but it's not practical (edge features are redundant) AND makes the phone more likely to break than "normal" phones.
if money is no issue or you are a gadget geek who just like to own the biggest, most hyped it product (i belong in the this group), then by all means, the Note 7 is a worthy purchase. but to the very average consumer, like, say my middle-aged mom? i wouldn't advise her to buy the note 7 for $850 when there are $400 phones that more than gets the job done for daily use.

plastic screen protector works, but yeah, no temper glass ones.
i've tried a few temper glass protectors, they either don't cover the sides, or cover the sides but lack adhesive in the middle, which makes the screen less responsive, especially when typing.
For me it would be the green battery icon All other things I can live with (facepalm)

Yeah I think you have talked yourself out of the phone before even trying it. I see you post on every thread and its something negative about it without even have used it.

It's the best phone currently made, so really no reason not to get it. I think the main thing I don't like is the non-removable battery, which had Samsung put a removable battery in it then the whole recall thing would have been as simple as them sending us a new battery. But overall there is very little to complain about with the phone and a ton of things to like.

goes to show, any cheap or non standard batteries (or even OE) from ebay can easily cause the same issues as samsung have faced.

have you tried the nano/liquid ones? I've given up with plastic and tempered glass crap. Its a better experience not using one at all.
Hello awesome XDA community?
I was hoping to find info on upgrading this model to Oreo and information on getting root access also?
Apologies if this is the wrong area to post this in.
Thank you ...
+1 on that!
The only thing keeping me from buying this phone is first the price and second the fact that it will never get an update. Battery life looks really good.

We don't have a large enough user base to merit our own forum yet. I think there are enough of us to begin development on the AGM devices. In the coming months I will petition XDA to give us our own forum....but I have to have something developed to justify that.
Right now, I am working on getting TWRP to install and porting Android N to the X1.
Next, I will then work on getting TWRP to run on the X2 and then try to port oreo.
I am using my X2 as my daily driver so I can't mess it up yet.
Since the X2 is the only phone with a nose, developing out software for the VOC sensor is also something I am exploring.
Wow. Are u liking the phone? Can u tell what sucks and what's great?

Yes, I am liking this phone. On the whole, I am very happy with it
What's great: I finally have a phone with a battery that does not run out. I average 30 to 40 percent battery drain in my daily use. Whereas for my old phone...I'd have to charge it after 8 hours of regular use. It's built like a brick - really solid construction. Supposedly waterproof but I have not tested that. 6G of memory and 128 G of storage. I can load a ton of apps on there and open a lot of them. 2 sims. It works on T-mobile in the US but it works on damn near every band in the world so I can use it when I travel. Reception is decent. Bluetooth behaves with all my peripherals. You can record 4k video using the Opencamera app. It has an FM radio you can use with headphones. The VOC sensor works.
What sucks: They made the back out of glass. I am afraid that if I drop it it will crack. So I covered mine with heavy sign vinyl to protect it. Audio volume is a bit low through the audio jack. The dual lense camera is kind of gimicky and the default app is not that great. It gives the background a kind of dreamy look...but that feature in the default camera app is a little hard to use.
root
I just ordered my AGM X2 6GB/128GB, looking forward.
Is there already know how to root?
I'm thinking of buying this phone for use in Canada on the Telus network and for world travel/work. It will be replacing my HTC one M9. I need something water prof that is reliable and will connect most places world wide. Also need a good camera and a good GPS and i love the floating cover. Dose anyone know if the model from chinavision includes the floating cover? Also are there any issues with the phone to consider before buying?
---------- Post added at 02:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:53 AM ----------
How secure is the floating case? is it likely to fall off if dropped from a boat?

Thanks a lot. I so wanted to get this phone but I need an above average to pretty good camera and good GPS for work. I may still get it if the price goes down a little.
Getting this phone on Monday. I played around with the 64 GB version and I really like it.
Surprised there is not more interest in it. It has to be one of the best (if not the best) rugged phones out there.
And having some extra sensors and a big battery is really a plus in the field.
reading up on installing TWRP and Magisk on this phone, but not having much luck so far.

They have MIL-STD-810G , so not sure why this would crack? Wouldn't that mean that certification would be worthless?
Just to be sure, what kind of heavy sign vinyl did you protect it with?
I was going for this phone to prevent to get additional protection, but now you have me worried.
Just ordered mine from Tomtop.com hoping to have it by Christmas.

I have read of one or two back glass screens cracking, I've also read that as per AGM the phone is still waterproof and dust proof with the back panel cracked. I think the mil spec is still good for the operation and gust of the phone just not the ascetic rear panel glass. I will be putting a layer of clear vinyl tape on my rear panel to help prevent a crack

where did you read that? I have read only positive reviews so far, so I have missed those with the cracked glass.
will look into securing the back cover as well then if this is really a weak spot. Thanks for pointing it out!

I could not find any posts about this on the community page: can't post the link yet, but it is "facebookdotcom" and then "AGMphone/community"
What I have found is a bit more worrying though, complete lack of support and communication from AGM's side. :/

The note on face book has a time stamp of Nov 14 at 9:27pm. I did notice all the comments about a lack of support, I also saw that AGM released a video of the testing for the X1 new operating system. In all I still bought the phone as it ticks all the right boxes. I dont relay need to have the latest and greatest updates, I just hope it will be reliable for the next few years.

Hear what you are saying, as I have never had to use phone support since my first mobile end of the 90's. We should be fine, and ideally Lineageos will be able to prolong the lifespan of this device.
on the page I have 'linked', there is no post dated November 14th. There is one from November 4th (Where's the X1 update?) and the next one is November 18th talking about supporting AGM as they seem to struggle.

Ulf Henriksen It seems to be a rugged phone, but the backside is shattered after two days in my pocket. I have been walking and in and out of my car. Not so impressed as my Sony xperia takes the same with no problems.

Its near the bottom of the second thread, right after some unboxing pics
Does anyone know how to unlock the bootloader? No way to install a recovery without doing so. The fastboot oem unlock command does not work.
Also, there's a video of a walnut breaking the back glass on youtube. Look up "AGM X2 Defeat walnut"
Finally found a bit of a drop test. its in Chinese but you can watch the guy drop the phone several times from waist height
