Hi @ all,
I need a little help to upgrade my SM-T805 from 4.4.2 to 6.0.1 (T805XXU1CPH5).
I had rooted my SM-T805 in the past with this [GUIDE] How to root without tripping knox - Kitkat and Lollipop, Locked bootloader
Now my question is - It is possible to upgrade to 6.0.1 with keeping root an knox at 0x0?
And when it is possible i need some hints.
My first idea was to download the firmware and flash it with Flashfire but I do not know if this is the right way and whether there are certain things to consider.
Thanks in advance
Cookie
P.S.: Sry 4 my bad english, I'm a german guy
I think you cannot. since mm need new bootloader. and kingroot no longer working.
If I root my new A5 with something like kingoroot ( assuming it can do it) Will I lose OTA updates?
I have all my stuff backed up with Titanium so need to root to restore I assume? Then I can unroot?

As far as I know, you will lose OTA and it will probably trip Knox. However, if successful, please let us know here. I'm sure people would appreciate it.
You will definitely need to be rooted to do a proper restore. But you might also want to try Samsungs Smart switch. It is able to transfer apps and data between devices. It was a bit of a hit or miss regarding app data though

I think you'll have to wait for someone to make working TWRP recovery for Ax20.
6.0.1 ain't that easy to root without custom recovery.
I used the Samsung switch software in the end.
For now, both Windows and Android version fails to root A3 2017 (A320F/FL).

no root for SM-A520F available yet
I think we have to hope (and wait) until someone compiles TWRP for SM-A520F on a marshmallow kernel base (since there are no official ports even for A510 (2016 A5) i dont think this will happen).
or until chainfire releases a A520F 6.0.1 cf auto root file (he did so for the 510 model, so this is more likely)
until then we must live without adblocker and full backup on that phone

This had supposed to be good for back up & restore, but I couldn't get the pc the recognise my chinese Elephone P8000

Have a wicked Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 and so far the only way to root the phone is with Odin. Waiting to have a Kingroot rooting exploit up and running hopefully soon. I want to install Titanium backup, Adblock, Screen Recorder (record any video with full sound ripping video off my phone (then edit and distribute by phone off a public wireless using a torrent app like FLUD) and Pimp my ROM
try block-this as adblocker...works as good as adaway...

Hello XDA
hello XDA I am Wondering if there any methods out there to downgrade and root Samsung SM-960U I was originally on Sm-G960W if that helps and I am currently on android 9.0 [and would like to downgrade back to 8.0 if that's possible if searched around and really haven't found anything to my exact phone model to do these things but don't wanna risk my phone since I already bricked it 1 time
Seems like a LOT of S9/S9+ users hate the taste of Pie and want to go back to the Cookie (Oreo); where I am curious is *why*. (As to why I am curious is because I'm at the opposite end - I'm an S7 Snapdragon owner that has no Pie as an option (unavailable for the platform) and I wonder where all the Haterade is coming from.)
