Your battery looks good, average is around 4 hours of screen on time at around 20% remaining (total of about 4.5 hours of screen on time in total). Half an hour in either direction is pretty good.
Battery drain on idle is common, go into your wifi settings and change the setting so it only stays on during sleep if it's plugged in.
Screen protectors are garbage for this phone, they either cover part of the screen with black borders, don't cover to the edges due to the curved screen, or you'll need to get a film screen which feel weird. I use one of a few cases for the phone, preferring lighter thinner cases over the more protective cases. Nilkin Nature and several cheap ~ .85 USD clear thin cases off from eBay are my personal favorites. This is the one that I got, note, the photo isn't accurate, but it does provide decent protection at only 12g in weight. You'll have to see if they'll ship to your country or find another seller that will. All of the cases at this price range are the same item shipping from China.
I personally use an Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 charger for mine, again, you'll have to look around and see what you can find for your country.

Checking the power usage, most if it is being used by you guess it...
The display. For me this number flirts around 50%. That's a boat load of usage compared to everything else!
I guess Motorola didn't choose an energy efficient panel.

I was rather amazed to hear that the screen sucks so much battery! Thought a 3.1 low-res screen would rather give a better battery life.
May be a custom ROM with some tweaks can take care of this.
I'm going to leave brightness on about 40% for the day and see what happens. I normally have on auto brightness, and my usage does show the display using about 50% of the juice.
Yeah with respect to the display I don't think an HTC phone would be that high... Odd choice moto!

Eh, sometimes the Hero got up in the 30-40% display usage
how much thickness does the extended battery add? it's hard to tell from the picture, but it still looks like the there is the raised portion at the top of the device for the camera
Not much... I hardly even notice its there. The new battery backing even keeps a slight curve as the original slimmer one did.
I'm really happy this is an original Motorola product and the battery cover / door looks just like the thin one with the silver swirls and all.

cool. might have to pick one up from my local store.
Hi to everyone,
is there any lucky owner of Motorola Extended battery who can tell me how thick is phone with extended door? I ask one seller and he tell me Droid Pro with this original extended battery is about 1/2" thicker than with standard 1420 mah battery. But after I have read this thread I think it must be nosense. But there is no exact infor and no photo anywhere. Thanks a lot!
I'm really surprised to read about everyone having battery problems. I wouldn't describe myself a heavy user, but I do make several calls, send and receive a boatload of texts, have widgets that require data pulls set for every 30 minutes, do a small amount of internet browsing, and use the mp3 player for an of hour or so while working out and I have had nothing but amazing battery life. Being a BB convert a couple of devices ago, I can say with certainty that this, being my 3rd Android phone, has the best battery life so far. I usually unplug around 6am and by 11pm, I'm still at about 60-70%. No android device that I know of can touch the battery life of a BB, but this one has been very good so far.
It adds more weight than thickness imo. The battery is probably 1/8" thicker and the soor the same. Probably adds 1/4" more thickness overall, but there is a great weight different to me. Seem to hold a good charge though. Worth the $34 to me.
im really interested in this

Has anyone tried to fit the otterbox in w extended battery? May try to hack up the case so it will fit when i get it
I was able to cut out the back on the standard cover for the extended battery to stick out, and the otterbox seems to fit fine. If you don't want to cut your back cover, you can just leave the back off since the otterbox protects it, though I still like the idea of having an internal cover. I may go back and put some sort of rubber seal around the battery opening just in case. Will post pics later
has anyone used the sgs2 and a ZAGGsparq 2.0? my friend got one of those for this ipad and it works great (sometimes) i was wondering if anyone has used the ZAGGsparq 2.0 with this phone.

1- thank you for your reply.
2-what kind of bad experience did you have with it?
I work a lot and i'm always playing music and other apps on my phone so my battery runs out quick, do you you have any recommendations on portable power?
it's a pain in the arse to put the sticker on, zagg is basically a sticker for the lack of better analogy
it's not easy to apply, and if you make a mistake, it takes a lot of work to fix it right
the feel of the rubber like sticker makes it really bad to do things naturally on the screen, if you apply it to the screen as well
now all that was in relation to their skins protection stuff
your Zagg-plug is a whole different level, so you might get lucky and it might actually just works right.
it's just a big chunk of portable battery after all, is hard to go wrong with that

oh i see, I'm mainly looking for some feedback on their portable battery chargers.
there's an existing topic about that already http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329494
well that post is about some other type of battery pack.
the zaggs battery pack its actually 6,000 mAh, (they also claim that their device can charge a phone 4 times before you need to recharge the battery pack) and only 45 $ (on ebay), i just want to get some feedback from people that have used, i want to know if it really does what they say it does and if it works well with the sgs2
IMO i find a solar powered ones to be more efficient, as it can do both, solar and plug in to the wall
with the one you are investing on, you can only plug it in to a wall for refill
the Zagg screen protectors for the sg2s actually work very very well
i use one on my phone.. as well as the back cover
EVERY Zagg screen protector ive ever seen put on is riddled with so many bubbles its annoying to even use the phone .... BUT .... Every single bubble disapears on its own ( without massaging the screen with a card or any of that nonsense ) within 3 days. my Zagg screen protector was annoying for the first 3 days but now you cant even tell it is there... it has a very natural smooth feel to it, not rubbery unless you accidently get your nail into it then your nail catches ( but doesnt damage the screen protector )
I have a Zagg Sparq and the GS2, haven't used them together though, I could try. My roommate and I both got Sparq's and his was defective right out of the box. From what I've read this happens A LOT from Zagg. Honestly, I don't like them after that whole experience (it was meh). I'll test it out maybe tonight though when my battery is dead. I'll also be receiving this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005K7192G soon and doing a full review for XDA/my site.

While the Zagg Sparq 2.0 worked amazingly well on my iPhone 4 (I got 3 full charges to 100% out of it and atleast 4 hours of runtime for each charge), it's UTTERLY USELESS on the Galaxy S II.
First of all, even though I connected it to the "Optimized" USB port, the SGS2 drained the battery faster than the Zagg could charge it!! I plugged it in at 95% and began using the phone. 3 hours later the phone was down to 60% and the Zagg battery was DEAD (All 4 points depleted). I got another 1.5 hours out of the phone battery.
Just carry a second battery for the SGS2.
meh
Yeah, I would have to second that notion - go with a second battery. I'm using it at we speak, and it doesn't do that great of a job. It might be because my unit is defective, but the sgs2 not only charges slowly but uses up more mah in the process. Good luck getting two charges out of it.
Also, I believe it works best when plugged in to "general" port, as opposed to the optimized one.

I have no doubt that it is not an original Samsung battery but it has been good. I've used it a couple of times but my advice would be the anker battery seems to be better quality but I will do a side by side test when both have been charged and discharged five time. (wasn't sure if you meant the white anker battery or the knock off Samsung lol)

No I live in Canada as you can tell by my information, most of these are located in Hong Kong, and Korea the only one from Canada is the GLASt screen protector ( you could've also noticed that they are all form different sellers )
I noticed you bought 2 screen protector, a SGP glass & Bulletproofbrand. Do you use them both or just SGP one?
the Bulletproof SP looks interesting

I ordered both at the same time and got the GLASt first, so that is the one i currently have on. I received the bulletproof one about three days ago. It seems to be of good quality and maybe just a touch thinner. The only thing I noticed is that the white has a slight shimmer to it, like specks of glitter. The Glasst has been excellent and i have had it on for over two weeks and not a single scratch on.
Since I haven't yet installed the Bulletproof one its hard to recommend one over the other. If you want a nice invisible protector go for the Glasst but if you want something a little funky try the bulletproof. As for installation I can't comment but the Glasst was pretty simple. I have one small bubble that isn't noticeable.
I can post some pics if you would like of both of them. I'm just charging my camera
Some pics would be nice. thank you
I now have both of the above, both cost around £9 -£12, and both serve different purposes.
The white leather case is good in that it protects the screen, it keeps the phone low profile (ie it still feels thin even with the case on) and it protects the camera lens by raising the lip slightly. It also props the phone up at an angle for watching films etc.
Downside is that it can feel a bit awkward when making calls because of the leather cover and also when using the camera. Not too bad though in reality.
The battery case on the other hand does bulk up the phone a bit, so it feels larger (bit like a galaxy note) but actually does still look good (IMO). So far it does also seem to work. Not tested it extensively, but people reckon it will charge your phone back up by 40%. If I was going to have a long day I would switch to this case. The kickstand is a bit flimsy and so will probably not use it much, but it does click into place so it stays out of the way and does not flop around.
Anyway, pics attached so you can make up your own minds. I have put a Duracell AA battery in shot for size comparisons.
Do they do that kick stand case in black? I want it looks awesome
Oddly enough I have not seen a black version. But hey, I am new to the One X so there may be.
Damn that's annoying, I really like it

I think what it says on the box is quite accurate - it took about 7-8 hours to charge when attached to a pc USB socket.
When my phone got down to 51% I put it in the case and used that to charge it, (not using it whilst I charged it) and it took it back to 100%. Case was then expired.
Hmmm.
Had the phone in the white case in my jeans pocket over the weekend. The edges look a little frayed and have picked up a blue tint. (edges of the case that is).

See i REALLY want a case like this but ive heard off branded stuff like this are total crap =/ If someone gets this please let us know how it is because id wish to buy one as well
I just bought the first one and used it today ... met the seller in person, as I live in the Valley. Nice guy ... and he stressed the 3 month return policy.
Fit and finish are excellent. The case really complements the phone (if it is white). Like most external batteries, it generates a lot of heat when charging the phone. On the upside, there is a power switch so you can control when the case actually charges.
I haven't used it enough to determine how much of a recharge you can reliably get when the external battery is fully charged. Based on my limited use, I would bet no more than 50 to 60 percent ... meaning a phone battery at 10% might see 60 to 70% if you fully discharged the external battery.
And more importantly to me, the case itself offers corner protection, which is where I tend to ding my phones.
What are your thoughts after a few days of using this?
What is the intended purpose of this? is it to be used as a spare battery when yours is worn out and you simply switch the power to the external battery, or does this charge your phone while using it?
Thanks
I have a black version of the first one listed, it works awesome.
When I posted that here I got flamed by a bunch of a-holes saying it would run too hot/it might break the USB port etc so I didn't bother bringing it up again.

I got the white version, I don't like it all that much. It makes the phone super bulky and you can not charge your phone using the usb cable without the case being on. When the case is on it gets really hot, but it does charge the phone to 90% from 5%
Well, the 3200Mah battery case I bought from Amazon arrived a day early. Amazon is amazing. I have a Prime membership, so I get free two day shipping on a lot of things, but often things arrive the next day.
Unfortunately, the product itself is a bust.
Let me preface this by saying that my SGS3 is a battery hog. I get nowhere near what others I read online get. If I charge to full, then turn off the screen and don't touch it again, I can get about 10 hours. I've always had bad luck with my phones and battery life.
I charged it all the way up, then slid my fully charged phone into it, ran the phone down to 5% (about 6 hours), then turned the case on.
First, it got hot. I mean hot. Almost too hot to hold, burn your hand hot. To top it off, it charged my phone from 5% to 42% in about 1 hour, and was dead empty.
Some other issues - you can't leave your back cover on while using this case, it won't fit.
Also, the fit isn't great. The phone has side to side wiggle in it. And the case doesn't cover the sides or top of the phone, but creates a ridge all the way around that is really uncomfortable to hold, makes access to the volume rocker and power button really difficult.
The kickstand is cheap, bendy, flimsy plastic, not metal like the picture looks, and has no lock. It swings free, and will only support the phone in landscape.
It's going back to Amazon, based on the fact that it advertises 3200mah, but lasts 1/6th as long as the 2100mah stock battery. There was nothing I liked about this battery case. I'm going back to carrying a spare battery.
