Latest ROM? - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I've just bought a wildfire buzz on ebay, unlocked it, and installed cyanogen9 (I think 4.0.4) with clockwork recovery. I'm used to dealing with slimrom's on my nexus, and after looking at all the rom's available, I wondered what is the latest and slimmest so I can have a play with the phone?
Many thanks guys

How to install generic ROM and keep root?

Hi all.
Today I took some time and rooted my Desire, and installed couple of different versions of ROM. All of them are faulty in a way, modaco doesn't support video recording, with the cyanogenmod I keep getting "no service"...
So now I would like to keep root, but install a generic ROM, regular/official one, with Sense.
Is this possible and can someone tell me where to get a regular/official ROM?
Have you tried MCR r3.1? (not the froyo one) That's very stable.
If you really want stock with root I can cook one up tomorrow.
Is that this one?

[Q] No sound on non-TELUS Roms!?!?!

so i got my desire hd yesterday, i'm pretty satisfied with it so far... rooted it as soon as i got it out of ted to the box! but i've hit a major problem, i wanted to flash CM7 or MIUI or custom kernels, which i managed to do, but unfortunately, sound doesn't want to play on any rom other than the stock telus rom so i have a couple of questions and hoping to find answers:
1.what is causing this?
2.is there anything that can be done about that?
thanlks!

[Q] Galaxy Newbie / Root / Roms / Radio

Hey Guys, i´m coming from the desire z and got few small questions.
1. someone told me there´s no need to root the device, is that right or not?
2. do i need a kind of dev-bootloader?
3. which recovery is the best? / does the ext4 recovery exist for the nexus? really liked to work with it
4. got o2(germany), is there any recommended radio?
5. are there big differences between the roms? which one would u take? i personally would take cm9, because i used cm7 on my desire z, but e.g. android revolution got a lot of clicks, why do so many people prefere it?
for the moment, these are the questions that are in my mind, think in 2 days it´s gonna arrive, just wanted to make sure everything can ben realised as fast as possible when my new phone arrives
thanks in advance
no one an idea?

1. There are definite benefits to unlocking the bootloader and rooting. And if you ever had to, you can go back to stock. The great thing about the Galaxy Nexus is how very hard it is to truly brick, but dont try
2. No, unlocking the bootloader is actually pretty simple. You will need Android SDK and the drivers installed on your computer
3. I prefer Clockwork Mod Recovery. Because its the most popular, it is also what most instructions are for
4. You will just have to read through some of the GSM radio threads. Updating to 4.0.4 is probably all you need though.
5. Yes there are difference between ROMS. I am currently using AOKP Milestone 4. CM9 is certainly great with a lot of feature. ARHD is more to the stock feel. Its not going to have as many feature as AOKP, CM9, or Gummy, but it is a very smooth ROM. Honestly it just comes down to what you like in the feature list.
If you have any questions on how to do any of this there are detailed, near fool-proof, instructions here

Guude
1) Depends on what you wanna do with the phone. Mine is rooted
2) Not really
3) I would use CWM. Works perfect and is very popular
4) I always used the radio coming with the installaled Rom. And had no problems at all.
5) At the moment i use Gummy Rom. Tried Cm9 a few nightlies ago, but actually i like gummy more. Still some bugs (camera doesn`t work properly, but 3rd party cam apps do so i don`t care) and the battery life is great. Overall performance is also very good.
thank you for your answeres gonna check the roms

[Q] Question about best ROM

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the rooting world so I just had a quick/noob question. I have a S3 for AT&T ,version 4.0.4 and I'm going to root it and install and new ROM. I want Cyanogen 10 nightly mod rom however I'm not sure if it will work with my 4.0.4. When flashing a new ROM , can you do it with a version that is an upgraded version of your current one? Also, what are the steps for it. I got it all down however I just want to make sure a few times that everyone says the same thing! Thanks a lot.
