Then why my device isn't been updated automatically, I'm still on the june patch
I have XT1635-02 and I got August batch as well.

Just received this OTA update today for M1D63M from M1D63G with a security patch level of August 5, 2016. No idea if there's anything new apart from that. Screenshot attached.

Google Play Services updates on its own and doesn't depend on the system update, so it should automatically update later to match the version on your phone.
Is that something new?
When I tap on the play services version a bubble appears: "looking for updates".
anyone managed to capture thing ota link yet so the devs can play and update roms etc?
Just updated my watch, haven't noticed anything new but I'll report in few days if there's something new or improved

This update- only security fix. Kernel patched with some new patches. That's all.

See the first post, I already posted the OTA link.
On PC companion there is a normal Version again, so no test version. I did a full reset and I installed the new build without any problem.

Battery life still sucks so it's just an incremental update probably only with security patches...
I was running this version, then my watch just said there was an update.
It installed and now I'm on mwd48b . So it's downgraded !?
I just got an OTA update and pulled it from my watch. Here are the relevant version lines from the update script:

I do not think that it has officially been released for the XA1 series. Sony confirmed that the XA1 will get it, just not when.

This morning, December 2018 OTA update notification came on my phone (Slovakia, reteu, XT1676 DualSIM). I'll capture it and upload it to the GDrive as soon as I get home from school.
Running OPPS28.85-13-2, got OPPS28.85-13-4 update.

Here they mention that both OPPS28-85-13-4 and OPPS28-85-16-4 correspond to the builds with the December security patch, but the build marked which is OPQS28-85-13-4 to which corresponds?
This link only contains installable firmware through fastboot, here another link from previous builds https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/cedric/official/

Do they keep up with the monthly security patches?
I am in Europe.
Do you know for how long does LG update their android phones? Would I just be better getting samsung if I want to have android updated for longer?

In addition to Google, monthly updates are only made by Samsung [emoji6]

The G8s is said to receive Android 10 only in Q3 of 2020 - so if you're looking for a phone which gets the update soon you're probably out of luck with that phone
Otherwise security patches are kind of reliable, I'm on Dec patch right now with an unlocked German G8s

Try checking for updates, via wifi if you aren't on sprint network. Got my February update today...

I am not from USA, I'm from the Caribbean, I have a Lg G8s G810RA model, always checking and nothing.
I saw alot of people said buying an unactivated At&T sim works , just activate on their website and pop it in.
But that's another cost by itself to ship to me here.

An LG g8s is not an at&t model.... Just find the latest k dz on lg-firmwares.com and flash it with lgup

I use a cheap ZTE Blade A5 2019 for work and it has Pie with March 2020 security updates. It's a shame my Lg G8s, a last year flagship is stuck with Pie 9 and 1st Jan 2020 security updates...
