Are you sure that the RUU matches your current firmware? If not, get the correct RUU. If yes, does the MD5 checksum match the desired value? If not, re-download the file until the values match. If they do you're probably suffering from a dead nand. It's a hardware issue caused by the infamous heat of the SD810. All phones from all OEMs that use this processor are suffering from similar issues.

I just picked this phone up off of craigslist, so I'm not sure what's been done to it previously. . It worked fine for about a half hour and then I began installing my apps onto it and at a certain point it locked up.I have a technical background, but I haven't messed with phones all that much so please forgive my noobishness.
I pulled the battery and rebooted and it just hangs at the white htc screen. I'm able to get into the bootloader and this is what I see...

I've gone into recovery mode and I see these messages in yellow at the bottom of the screen...

E:Can't mount /data/data/recovery/log
E:Can't open data/data/recovery/log
E:set_bootloader_message_block: emmc_read_data fail
-Wiping the cache seems to complete successfully and the same error messages above are displayed. Reboot hangs at white screen.
-Performing a Factory Reset /data and /cache seem to format correctly, I recieve a Data wipe complete message followed by the same messages above, I reboot and I'm sitting at the white htc screen.
-I've tried using several different PC10img.zip files and they all display 'main version is older update fail'. So no luck there.
- I've tried the manual OTA update by renaming f4d11a64d2df.OTA_Vision_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.15.531.3-1.22.531.8_release_197463.zip to update.zip and placing it on the sdcard. I recieve these messages during the update process...

-I've installed the android sdk and usb drivers and I am able to see the device from fastboot, but I'm not sure what I should be doing next.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Emmc read failure messages usually mean the internal memory (rom space) is corrupt. I would get my money back if i were you.

Did you find any solution?
I have the same exact issue
Have you ever been able to boot into the OS/Android before? Was it a new phone?
It looks as you said that it wasn't installed completely. I would return it to get a new one if that's the case. Could also be that the internal memory is somehow damaged.
Hey guys,
I need some help with this phone, I'm an amateur with phones so i've never rooted it or tried customizing it anything like that. It's been just a little less than a year since I got it and for the first time I did a system update on it because a notification gave me that option to, and just 3 days after the update, my phone ran out of batteries, died, tried charging it and turning it on again, but it's stuck at boot screen, and after approx. 20 secs, the screen goes black again.
I held the vol. down button+power button, to select the option to perform a factory reset, it doesnt work and just goes to the htc logo boot screen, then black.
I've also tried going to recovery and reboot the system, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, none of these worked either.
However, there are a bunch of yellow writing at the bottom of the recovery screen, which I hope will provide some info to what the problem might be cus I don't understand any of it.

Hello,
I am trying to load CyanogenMod onto my Nexus 7 2013 (WiFi) via this guide: wiki.cyanogenmod[.]org/w/Install_CM_for_flo
I have successfully flashed the recovery partition (ClockWork Mod 6.0.4.7). However, when I boot into CWM, I am greeted with these errors:
Code:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't open /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc (no such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
E:Can't open /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc (no such file or directory)
I attempted to load CyanogenMod via the "push and install method", which entails mounting the /data partition. CWM errored out when trying to mount any of the following partitions:
Code:
Error mounting /system!
Error mounting /data!
Error mounting /cache!
So instead, I tried the sideloading method ("adb sideload nightly.zip"), and CWM spit back a bunch of mounting/filesystem errors:
Code:

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E:failed to open last_install: No such file or directory

Can anybody help me out with this? Thanks!
Update:
I just tried TWRP (2.8.6.0) as an alternative to Clockwork Mod. FYI, my device is currently running stock Android 5.1 Lollipop, if that makes a difference.
I received the following errors:
Code:
E:Unable to find partition size for /boot.
E:Unable to find partition size for /recovery.
E:Unable to find partition size for /misc.
E:Primary block device '/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata' for mount point '/data/' is not present!
E:Unable to mount /data.
E:Unable to find partition size for /sb11.
More similar mounting issues. Any idea what the problem could be?
Is TWRP 2.8.6.0 not compatible with Android 5.1? (Build: LMY47O)
Resolved -- Use TWRP MultiRom
I had the same issue on a number of new Nexus 7 2013 wifi devices. Turns out Google had made some firmware updates, rendering new N7 devices incompatible with KitKat stock images.
I resolved it by flashing a custom TWRP build (the MultiRom build) onto these devices. Here's the download links that someone uploaded. You need to be familiar with using fastboot on nexus 7 devices in order to flash these onto the recovery partition:
WIFI (FLO) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3fHxCdm5V_Mc2szNnFzT1I0eVk/view
LTE (DEB) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3fHxCdm5V_MU1hfXzV6dFlEZ2c/view
As a refresher, after booting into fastboot mode (hold VolDn+Power), type 'fastboot flash recovery TWRP_multirom_flo_20150328.img'
(Thanks to csmnn for posting the original solution here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cyanogenmo...ng_cyanogenmod_onto_nexus_7_2013_wifi/cscxb93 and to masterchiefb117 for uploading the files in this forum post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/nexus-7-2013-qa/mount-recovery-t3064562)
Errr... This the Galaxy Nexus forums, not Nexus 7.

I just got my HTC One back from HTC. Now I tried to start it but it does not start. The white splash screen by HTC shows up but after that it just turns black (but is still on). I went in the recovery mode and it says some errors on the screen:

I called the HTC Service. The only thing they tell me is to Factory Reset it which does not help and then to send it in again. Hopefully anyone here can help me more than the guys at HTC and avoid sending it in.
//edit They are willing to take it back but I do not want because I am sure that with some advice I can fix it by myself.
Most stupidest thing ive been reading today. If HTC wants to fix it for you then let them. If they don't want to or warranty is void/not present then return here !
Because the minute you mess it up here you are thinking......hmm i should have let HTC take care of it !
Whatever they do wrong they need to fix, whatever you do wrong it's on your own !
Seriously.........
I had this error and i reflashed twrp and was able to get the vodafone splash screen and then the htc one screen, but still stuck. I went back into twrp and restored from a previous backup.
