So received the OTA from Tmo and it wiped my IMEI. I was reading that it has a separate partition for system. Is there a way to flash the IMEI back onto the device using stock recovery so I don't have to root and rom?

Hello everyone,
I recently tried to flash the newest JellyBAM, 7.0.
I have tried to use the standard process of factory reset/wipe cache/wipe dalvik and I have also tried to format system in that process. When I install zip, it works fine and then i go to reboot system. the farthest it will go is the Samsung screen. Why is it doing this? I went back to recovery mode and flashed my old ROM but I'd really like to try JellyBAM. Any help?
Try redownloading the Rom, probably a bad download
There was a thread about this, the fix involved flashing another kernel
Search it up and read to find the specifics

I found the solution.
So I tried rooting my phone last weekend using every method i could found possible for this phone and i always get stuck on the same part...I cant get twrp or cwm to mount on my phone! ive read a thread about how to flash a working one thru adb(i have no clue what that is) and odin but i cant figure out for the life of me how to do it. Is there some way that I cant install my root and the recovery at the ame time without all the extra stuff? Sidenote...i got my gs3(i have the purple one) back around the end of August and it has version 4.1.2. Sorry if im asking a stupid question but im new to this phone mod stuff
You probably aren't using one of the modified recoveries for new phones.

how exactly do i do it though? I dont have the abd thing thats mentioned and i think i tried it before with odin and it screwed my phone up
You'll need to use Odin or learn to use ADB.
AT&T had to swap out my e980 after my charger port failed. The one they gave me has the newest update install (E98020g).
I have successfully rooted it with no problem, however when I try to install CWM using the freegee method which is what I used on my last e980 it fails.
When I boot freegee I get.
Error
Exception thrown waiting for command to finish
Error
Your aboot is not supported on software version: E98020g
Is there another way to install CWM on the newest update?
2 choices, tot back to 4.1.2, or find the apk to install cwm.
Is there a walk though to tot

I too just got a new e980 4 days ago. I had more problem get it to root than installing the recovery. I had to used root master instead of script rooting that many used. Once it was rooted I had no issue installing the recovery with free gee. Try rom manager, it dowloads the recovery than install on your device. Else you can try download the img file from cwm site and use adb and fastboot to install it. If you have problem install the recovery even with the rom manager, I check root again and make sure it is properly done.

I tired rom manager with no results. I will give rom toolbox a try!

How did you root your phone? Did you use the script where you have to run a dos batch file? That didnt work for me because att locked the boot.img file or something, I had use something called root master instead. Check again and make sure you are properly rooted.

There you go! Just click on the down load link that begins with "vroot". Since the instruction is in Chinese, you probably should watch some youtube videos that show you how to install the program. Justdo a youtube search on master root.

Did you reboot after installing the GPRO apk? If so that's what's wrong. This method worked flawlessly for my E980!

Hi guys,
Yesterday I rooted my phone with one click root (method 3 of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596) and everything worked fine. Also instelled Xposed (from the same thread). The thread says I can install OTA without un-rooting, so there was an system update and I installed it. Now I'm stuck in bootloop. I can't go in recovery, when I try is like I normally turn on the phone. I don't see any android robot or error message, it seems like it turns on normally. So I can't install stock firmware. Tried to unlock bootloader, so I have to open adb, but if the phone is turned off, it don't detect it, and If it is on(but in bootloop) I've to authorizate it from the phone, but in bootloop it is impossible. Tried to install custom recovery, but Un-Tethered Recovery needs unlocked bootloader, and installing Tethered Recovery gives me the same problem: if is turned off it don't detect it, if is turned on, it needs authorization. I've installed adb (of course), asus drivers from here (https://software.intel.com/en-us/an...ion-instructions-for-intel-android-usb-driver) and manually from here (https://software.intel.com/en-us/android/articles/intel-usb-driver-for-android-devices). I've tried to do all this stuff from Windows 10 (64 bit) and form WIndows 7 (32 bit).
Hope you guys can help me, I really don't know what to do, I just want my Zenfone 2 551(Z00AD) back :crying::crying:
Thanks.

I've accidentally manage to remove the laf file and now I only have Fastboot and not download mode. I've try flashing laf but it seems the lg isn't allowing you to flash anything even with the latest drivers installed. So the only solution I figured out is to use king root to get temporary root access and place the laf file. Can anyone tell me where is the laf file stored?
Can anyone please help me. It's urgent
