Hello guys anyone can make a rom android 9 for moto z2 play ?
Was wondering as well and if the Moto z2 play will get ota for Android p
read in some website yesterday, that Moto Z2 Play will start getting Android P OTA in third quarter of 2019
Not bloody likely

We, on Verizon, haven't even tasted Oreo, in lieu of locked bootloader
Announced today Pie coming this Fall.

Try to Google and you'll find it. I'm writing from Android 9
http://ilmiodiarioprivato.altervista.org
I'd like to think there will be Android 9, since the Moto Z Play is getting Andoid 8... If Motorola sticks with the same pattern it would only make sense for the Moto Z2 Play to get Android 9.
Android 9 already boots in this device thanks to treble development, but most of the features aren't available yet. Once LineageOS 15.1 gets official, Android 9.0 will start being developed for this device.
No need for a custom ROM
Recently Motorola released the list of devices that they are supporting with the Android 9 (Pie) Software Update.
Here is the list:
• Moto Z3
• Moto Z3 Play
• Moto Z2 Force Edition
• Moto Z2 Play
• Moto X4
• Moto G6 Plus
• Moto G6
• Moto G6 Play
Data from this list has been collected from Motorola's Official website: https://support.motorola.com/us/en/softwareupgrade
Of course there will most likely be a ROM built with Android 9, but don't worry... If you want the full Motorola experience, you will be getting it!
I currently test with this tutorial and I work well with this android P port of the Pixel XL and it goes great, the only defect is that the Moto MOD do not go and the flashlight out there is all right.

It is important to follow the instructions to the letter so that it works wonders
Iam using Moto Z2F (Oreo pre-installed) along with Moto Z, Moto Z2 Play all updated to oreo. But as far as i can see Moto Z2F being the flagship has among all have the worst software experience
I dont know its being on my device or all but some of the Moto inbuilt apps like Moto Key , Camera Tuner ... are missing.
Also the Stock apps like Dialer , Contacts , FileManger etc.. are the same which was used to be on my other devices with Android N wheres the other are updated with OTA and has new icon
On the Top, its on Latest May 2018 patch :silly:
Build number is OPXS27.109-49-5 (its a retail Rom with SW channel Retin)
Is It same with all other Moto Z2F :silly:
No, it's on 07/2018 patch
Hello! Just wanted to know is there a way to install LG G4 native apps like contacts, messages, weather widget etc on my A2Lite? I have got the apk from LG G4, but when I try to install it says cannot install. Any solution? I really like the weather widget and message app of LG G4.
I believe LG apps require LG's special framework, so you wouldn't be able to simply install LG apps on a stock Android device, as the LG UX framework doesn't exist on the device. Also, those apps from the LG G4 are meant for an older version of Android (I believe from Android 5.0 to possibly Android 7.0), therefore the compatibility with Android 9.0 isn't guaranteed.
So, all in all, you cannot run LG stock apps on a non LG device and non LG UX Android OS without extensive porting and recoding in order to ensure the full operation if the app.

Thank you for your reply.
G4 had features like turn phone to silent the call, pic phone to answer etc, can these be added by using Magisk?

I'm not particularly sure about that, I know there were some similar modules for the Xposed Framework, however Xposed is currently not supported by Android 9.0 and by no means should you attempt to install it, as your device will be bricked.
Try searching the web for Magisk Modules, maybe you'll find a list somewhere and hopefully you'll find what you're looking for

After scattering through a tonne of content on the internet and flashing multiple ROMs on my moto z2 play, I found AOSP extended GSI of android PIE and I am using it right now as my daily driver. It works 9/10 Anyone can daily drive it as long as you are not concerned about passing SafetyNet. However, while I was digging for some ROM that would officially support my z2 play(albus), I noticed one thing that Motorola Moto G5 Plus has a lot of support amongst custom roms. I may be missing some points cause I haven't been into flashing roms since some years now and I recently came back to the whole scene but is there a way that I can run a Custom rom (like Evolution X) on my albus using the build meant for Motorola Moto G5 Plus? Both of these phones have extremely similar specs and dimensions. z2 play was launched on 2017 June and Motorola Moto G5 Plus was launched on 2017 Feb.

According to this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-play/how-to/updated-guide-project-treble-gsi-t4063193
you can flash ANY GSI into the Z2 Play as long as they met these requirements:
1. Rom arch is arm64
2. Rom partition scheme is aonly
Most custom roms do not specify which partition scheme uses, in this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2...droid-q-gsi-moto-z2-play-albus-t4066945/page2 the user @saibharath1319 mentions he succesfully installed Pixel Experience Plus Android 10 GSI with KVT 2.4 "without any major issues besides ambient display not working.

What he is asking and what your telling mate?? even i was searching for the same question moto g5 plus has tremendous support and both the devices are totally identical ? can someone give it a try?
Bro do you even read? The short answer is no, you can't simply flash sanders ROMs or any other, to albus. Unless they are GSI's.
If you don't have any idea what I'm talking about. Then google it.
If you are coming from Stock Pie Update make sure you use the modem file (non-HLOS.bin) from Stock Oreo because the modem from Stock Pie has audio issues with custom ROMs.
