As dual camera app with all it's features is available on AOSP Android One Would it be possible to Port it on AOSP Mi6 Custom ROMs?
The camera is made by Xiaomi and has Xiaomi UI, it is very similar to the one on Mi6.

Sorry, I misunderstood.
Yes, I assume that this would be possible when A1 kernel sources will be released as well, anyway is a great news
Remember that Mi6 still doesn't have kernel sources, Devs are limited untile they get released.
I also want this!!

Looks similar to MIUI but have smooth interface and new features
Prior to Mi Max, I used it as a daily driver on my Redmi Note 4G

Thanks a ton for all the Devs here !

we dont even have the kernel sources yet, hence no developer can deliver this right now. maybe in future ? who knows!
still searching in google and xda hoping some one ports this rom to MI Max...
Its just a skin like Miui or tw or emui
What's special about this?
Who is better? I want a good camera and performance.
Global rom of the xiaomi was better than rom of Honor?
I'd say Mi 6 all the way since I love community projects (LineageOS mostly)
With the honor 9 and its (probably) Kirin 960 it reduces the options of custom roms by a lot. I owned a Huawei Mate 8 before the Mi 6 and it had only one custom rom based off EMUI and a highly unstable CM port.

I think the chinese stable rom should shoot the best, but which custom rom shoots the same?
If you want the best photo quality, go and buy a DSLR...
BTW: That's not the right section for questions

Since almost all custom ROMs for the MI 6 use the standard MIUI camera app it really doesn't matter which ROM you choose.

Does it all come down to the app though? Surely the missing MIUI libraries in AOSP ROMs negatively impact on picture quality.
i see the camera on Mi Note 3 has hardware same as Mi6
so why the photos taken by Mi Note 3 better than Mi6?

Hello guys,
I need your honest opinion.
I need to get a new device. I only use blackberry old phone at this moment.
I am thinking of mi 6 or mi A1? Which one do you think is better?
I am thinking a1 for the price and stock android (what I love with oneplus before) but I like also to have snapdragon 835 and EIS for camera.
EIS also affect the quality of normal photos or videos only? I have shaky hands by the way.
Please advice.
Pricing:
mi a1 = 749 aed
mi 6= 1399 aed
Thanks guys
Mi 6 is better
Buy Mi 6 and install custom rom if you like stock.

Which custom ROM would you recommend? I couldn't find any with a battery performance and camera as good as the original one...
Mi 6 is flagship grade. A1 is midrange grade. The answer is very obvious.
imo
Brother! I have both the me A1 and the Mi 6 and the MI6 is so awesome and way better than the A1. Don't get me wrong, I like the A1 but the Mi 6 is so much faster and has many custom roms. If you look for the Mi A1 right now in the XDA forums there are no ROMs as of yet! The size of the Mi 6 is also much better than the size of the A1! I promise you brother!! You cannot go wrong with Mi 6!. It is an absolute pleasure to hold and to use!! And the dual firing speakers makes this a special beast! I personally love the MI6. I am selling my Mi A1
mi 6 is the best choice bro, good luck
Yep I had both the mi 6 was smaller in hand and snappier. Battery life similar on miui. Cam was also better
Mi6 my choice
I'd say if stock is more important to you and you dont mind weaker hardware - Mi A1.
You can install custom rom on mi6, but there will be bugs.
When my nexus died, I needed a replacement phone quick and A1 was not available. Having played with mi6 for a few month now, I'd probably bought A1 if I had a choice... or OnePlus5

Why don't you try LOS or AOSPA rom?

Basically two reasons:
I used custom aosp rom on nexus 4 when official support ended and while it works, you need to jump through some hoops to get everything working and wipe the phone (cba).
There is no Oreo roms. Updates will be late at least and most likely there will be bugs.
I know I should just get a pixel, but google has some issues with displays it seems.

Regular sized pixel 2 display is fine. Just the XL if seems.
So don't let it put you off.
Gf has it and is very happy and it is a little bit better than my mi 6 for software updates etc.
Performance is barely better like scrolling in chrome looks nice but google on Google will always be better with their optimizations.
If you need a performance device get one with the SD 835 its an amazing chip.
Blazing fast and no heat even on custom ROMs on Mi 6

RR with custom (Hasty) kernel. Perfect SoT and perfomance.:good:
Hello. This might sound like a silly question, but does the device work well when changing ROMs, for example from the default MIUI ones to AOSP?
I'm asking because I've had an LG phone for a very long time, and for example, when it ran AOSP, the camera quality was terrible compared to stock LG roms because LG didn't release the drivers... The sound works differently too, with AOSP the quality is lower.
So does something like this happen with this phone? Anything else I should be aware of while buying this device? I tend to keep my phones for a very long time so I'd like it to be future proof.
Is it possible to flash unofficial MIUI releases, like 3 years from now when Xiaomi doesn't support it anymore? Or is AOSP the only option by then?
Thanks in advance.
Yes Xiaomi Officially Releases its kernel sources for developer.......so custom/Aosp Rom support is great....and you can use miui camera on aosp rom....so camera quality is also great on aosp rom....but i am not satisfied with the gpu performance of redmi note 5(you can get better performance with Old Mi5 or New Mi A2/6x and mi8se).....if you can increase budget go for poco phone f1......But about your query ASOP rom Has Same/Better support in as MiUi rom in every aspect on all mentioned Xiaomi phone along with note 5.....and Xiaomi provide official miui 10 support to old device like remi note 3 so you can trust.
You can flash modded stock roms like Miuipro, Masik, Miui.eu, etc...
Algo You can check the development section for AOSP based roms
The phone in general is great the best gamma media for me so far
But keep in mind that it takes 30 days to unlock the bootloader. So, you'll be stuck with the stock Rom for a month.
