A5 2017 or Lg G5? Which one should i keep? - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

Hi, guys
I have had A5 2017 for 2 months now and I like it. Yesterday I got Lg G5. It was a deal I couldn't pass. I want to keep one of them for my self and give other one to my sister. Which one should I keep?

Choose which one you liked most and can perform tasks as per your needs

The G5 does most things much better than the A5, also the camera is vastly better. Except battery life, it sucks on the G5 (but it is removable) while the A5 has stellar battery life. Screen quality is also better on the A5, and the fingerprint sensor placement on the front is much better.

But the A5 accuracy just sucks. I would keep the G5.

A5 seems tp have much bettet battery life and charging speed. It fast charges at ~2180ma while g5 with its 2800mah battery charges at ~1400ma. Battery on g5 noticeably seems worse. If i keep my a5, i will have 2 sim cards. On my sim 2, i have a number from carrier which offers data practically free. I can have my data on 24/7. If i keep g5, then i will use my sim 1 only with which i can't use data all the time. It is so expensive on that carrier that i won't use data. Screen on a5 is much better. But fingerprint on g5 is so accurate. Wide angle lenses are very attractive though.
I am in a dilemma ?

Z5P, Nexus 6P or Samsung S6 edge plus

Hi,
I bought a Nexus 6P however I am not happy with the battery life and when you need to charge it its almost impossible to find USB C,
Other that I am very happy with marshmallows privacy features such as app permissions that's the reason I came back to android,
Since I am within my cancellation period my provider has offered me Z5P or S6 edge plus at no extra cost.
Which one should I go for?
Major selling points are which one gets upgrade to marshmallow first or has better after sale value
Battery life is also very important but with micros USB chargers available everywhere makes life easier.
Thanks

Since you kind of decided against the 6P, I would definitely go for the Z5.

I have the 6P and Z5P...honestly, the Z5P is the better of the two...I'm sticking with the Z5 Premium
can't speak for S6E+ as i haven't owned one but i can say that i'm very happy with my Z5P right now. both will definitely get the marshmallow upgrade although not sure who'll get it first but Z5P has the bigger battery of the two. then again, Z5P has a 4K screen so if you're always using the native sony app for both photo and video, it'll drain the batt much faster than what you expect.
Thanks how long does the battery last?

Not had the 6P but had the z5p and battery life was awful and I swapped it for the S6 Edge plus and battery life is awesome, infact the whole phone is better than the Z5P screen, performance, headphone and speaker sound & volume, camera, look &feel, charging only missing a card slot really.
RCJ89 I save already ordered Z5P I might sell it and settle for something cheap.

Fair enough, I know a few people who were waiting a while for the premium paid £600 for it at carphone warehouse and have been left disappointed and are now looking to move on already.
Biggest complaint are battery life & cant see the 4K screen diff between that and a 2K screen.
I returned 6p because of size and no sd card slot.
Ordered z5p got it for 5 hours in first full charge I feel battery life same as 6p .i don't know maybe need couple circle full charge to compare again
Yes I tried mine today and it wasn't bad on a 5 volt it charged under 2 hours..

You should try the s6 edge plus. I get 4:30 to 5 hours of sot. Sound is really loud and clear when using headphones. And the screen is the best in the business. The only con is the update schedule.
I have sold mine so happy days it wasn't as attractive as nexus 6p but than I am not a Sony fan.. I got this cheapo wileyfox swift with CM12 it does a good job for what I want a phone to do.

Samsung Firmware always have lots of special features and of course for EDGE display so if u need those features go for Edge+
If Fast Firmware/Security update matter for u then go for Nexus
But Gr8 camera and nice/smooth UI, Gr8 sound and generally GR8 User Experience go for Xperia
:good:
I have S6 edge+ and Z5P (have not seen nexus 6p yet). Battery is about the same, with a few tweaks, I can go a full day with 20% left. Screen is amazing on both. I had no use for the "edge" special stuff, and it made some functions awkward when touching the very edge of the screen. Both cameras are great, if you aren't a photography nerd you will be very happy with either. I am selling the S6 edge+ and keeping the Sony. I love the water resistance, the SD card slot (128GB for $40), and the feel seems more "solid". TouchWiz is pretty mature, but I prefer Xperia's implementation. Either is a great phone. The Z5P has marshmallow release in testing for developers, Samsung says marshmallow is coming any day for S6 edge+. So, not very helpful? Relax. It's just a phone.

OnePlus 3 vs 1 Battery Life

Hi there guys, I'm currently using 1+1 and thinking to switch 1+3. I'm using my phone as a personal and business phone. I do lots of texts and IMs handling customers and orders, few calls, lots of web browsing but seldom video playback and no gaming at all.
To be honest, I have no trouble with my current phone. I'm still very happy with how my 1+1 peforms (performance, battery life, camera, etc). I'm thinking about upgrading just because I want it, not because I need it. How good is the battery life compared to 1+1? It concerns me that 1+3 uses smaller capacity battery; 3000 mAh, compared to 3100 mAh on 1+1. As this is a business phone, good battery life is the most important thing that I have in concern. I am too spoiled by how long the battery in my 1+1 lasts.
I am not asking about how well the performance is because 1+3 will perform better than 1+1 with no doubt. I'm not looking for OnePlus 3T because it is not available in my country (and never will), and if it is, the price is going to be out of my budget. FYI 1+3 is about US$480 sold in my country compared to $399 in North America.
If you have owned both devices, I'm looking forward for your comments and insight. Thank you!
Owned both. Got a full day out of both so I can't really add much more than that.
OPO I was always on CM and I'm on OOS for the 3 and I can't really complain after the last few updates. The 3.2.1 (original) update was really bad for me for heat/battery but it stabilized shortly after
I actually don't care about battery since i got this phone...
If i reach the bad spot i charge it
And this charging is pretty fast
Well with the upcoming EAS kernal it looks pretty promising.
When I upgraded from opp to op3 I also worried about battery life. Op3 has slightly smaller battery but the more efficient AMOLED screen make up for that. Dash charge is a nice bonus. I routinely charge my phones every night, but if I forget to connect the charger I can easy go to days without charging.

So would you say it is better, on par, or worse than 1+1?
I feel op3 battery life is just as great as opo battery was on CyanogenMod 11s, before lollipop ruined battery life on opo.
With my OnePlus3 my battery is during 1 day with 40% à the end of the day.

Battery replacement for my T-Mobile S9

I recently paid off my S9, and it's working without issues, except degraded battery life, which is expected after 2 years of heavy use. I'm considering either getting anew phone (S10e or OnePlus 7T are heavy contenders at the moment), or getting the S9's battery replaced.
Has anyone had any experience replacing their phone's battery? I understand waterproofing is very likely to disappear if I go this way, but I never use my phone under water or under rain.
Thanks for any feedback given.

Alternatives to P2 these days?

Hey folks,
The phone doesn't charge anymore, so I just ordered a micro usb charging port board and also a new battery. I already disassembled the phone, waiting for the parts to arrive.
After 3 years using it, the Lenovo P2 it's one of the best phones I've ever owned. I'm thinking to either keep using it or keep it as a backup phone.
What are the alternatives in the market these days? I did a brief research online but it's very overwhelming, too many models out there. Main priority is a good battery performance, probably above 5000-6000 mAh capacity. Ideally with an Amoled or s-Amoled display coz those screens consume less power than other types.
Thanks
1. Samsung M51.
2. Replace the battery.
I went with OnePlus Nord because I don't like Samsung and it seemed to provide the most value for 270$.
If battery is a major issue and you're looking at the mid-range, I'd consider a Motorola phone.
Maybe Motorola Moto G200?
Has amoled screen, 5000mah battery, SD888.
I personally have the G100 and its a very good phone. Very good value too.

Too weak battery. Go for Realme GT2 Neo.
Oneplus Nord CE is also a viable option.
I correct myself: Realme 9 actually has a strong battery. If we are talking about the 4G version. But overall not well-built phone.
The closest you get to a successor would probably be Moto G52/82.
Redmi Note 11 NFC is my alternative.

Realme 10 Pro plus just made it to the top of GSMArena's battery life test: https://www.gsmarena.com/realme_10_pro_plus-review-2511p3.php
Would choose it over Realme 9 4G (RMX3521).
Not really a worthy successor, but a substitute I guess.

5000mAh battery in the 5G version?

I've had my Mate 20x for coming up to 3 years now which is the longest I've ever owned a phone. I run my whole life and business from it and haven't found a reason to change other than storage so I bought a 5G version, only to find out it's a crippled version of the 4G that's been stripped of the top speaker, audio jack and most importantly, has a smaller 4200mAh battery. I could do with the extra storage the 5G has but the smaller battery is a deal breaker.
Will a 5000mAh from the original Mate 20 x fit in the 5g?
