Sony says new update rolling to Xperia Z series; brings numerous bug fixes
Sony Mobile has just tweeted that a new Android 4.2.2 firmware update is rolling out to the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z. They have said the update brings “display, camera, battery fixes & performance tweaks“. No more information has been given, although we expect this to be firmware build number 10.3.1.A.2.67 that recently started to hit Xperia ZR handsets.

(check the atachments, it is in spanish but i can trust you understood the message, doesn't you?)

4.3 hasn't even been released.
when it's done..
you shouldn't flash Z roms to ZL, might get into trouble.
not might, will. I accidentally did this with something a few months ago and spent a couple days thinking I had permabricked my phone. luckily I got it working again. but be very careful
heard that this will be January 2014

If I OTA update my Xperia ZL to 4.3 I loose root right? At least this was the case with previous updates iirc. For those who installed the leak is there a working root method out there?

Yes you would lose root... Not a big deal if you're UB... more of a pain if you're LB...

Will it release for all regions at the same time? I don't think so. I think it will be release in phase based on region. What do you think?

But Sony is not BlackBerry. One is a worldwide giant, the other in oxygen support literally. Sony has never done the mistake of BlackBerry. I own a BlackBerry playbook and guess what? Is a dead device, no future upgrade or patches and BlackBerry does not have plans in releasing another tablet.

Confirming that the Xperia has reached End-of Life(EoL) in terms of updates,Sony Mobile confirms that this is the case of Xperia L an XP
The Last Software version for M was 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Xperia M also support unofficial & official 4.4.4 Cyanogen Mod.

Unofficial 4.4.4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2584956
Official 4.4.4: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=nightly&device=nicki
Sony must give one more update for the bug fixing in Xperia M.

Maybe have to press Sony for more information on that, after the Android 4.3 end of life statement.
The above statement made by Sony over two weeks ago, may come to nothing after recent developments.
A fix from Sony would be rewarding, but if Sony are no longer able to provide one, it is reported that CM11 does correct this problem.
Update:
New firmware certified for Xperia M and Xperia M (Dual SIM) (11-SEP-2014)
Certified update 15.4.A.1.10 for Xperia M (C1904/C1905)
Certified update 15.5.A.1.6 for Xperia M (C2004/C2005)
Xperia M, you're back, I thought you were dead.!!!
Opps, Sorry @Sh0m1 I didn't read your link and thought you were pointing to the BLE post that mentioned an upcoming update. ..My bad.

Actually it's a smart move made by sony by announcing that sony made it clear to their customers that now you don't have to wait any further for major updates and now you can unlock your bootloader to flash KK roms..:good:

What a great job sony.. :silly:
you know, sony might be smarter than we give them credit. It's impossible to keep updating every device because cost constraints, so the leave custom rom devs the freedom to carry on by providing unlockable bootloaders
Atleast Sony makes decent low-range devices. Just look at samsung and their c*appy phones. 5 versions of the same phone and almost no updates at all.

R U trolling?
Before asking about M port, lets hope for a rc or stable version of L, and some other ports like PAC or carbon or AOKP or vanir or omni or ... , any is good
Plus M is still in dev preview
It would be nice to have it, but still early to say

The xda portal has quotes Xperia S by mistake. There is no developer preview of M by Sony for Xperia S, it is just that the page has link to older binaries(Jelly Bean I think) which caused the confusion.

We might get the android M, developer mickybart is looking through it. Although expecting anything now is very early, as these are just developer builds.
I read on the news on xda that xperia s is one of the listed devices
Will that mean it maybe has a chance to get an official updat?
