Still all stock here, got my Oreo OTA.
I already hate the persistent notifications.
Why do I need two icons in the status bar and three items in the pulldown to tell me Twilight is running?
Pixel users got a native nightlight screen color filter with O, but we didn't?

Got 6.01 on my Nexus 6P yesterday. Currently running Nova Prime Launcher latest beta version. When you go to look and feel section and turn off the Notification Bar at the top, it does not work. It will not let you slide it to off. It just stays on. Can this be fixed or looked into please Thanks!
I have the same problem. I found that I can toggle one of the other sliders (dark icons works for me) and after that I can also change the notification bar slider.
If you are running beta software report back to the developer the issue and they will look into it.....

This works for me as well. Mess with the sliders and then when one actually moves, the one you originally wanted will move.
Edit: BTW I'm on prime as well but not on beta. So it must be a 6.0.1 specific bug.

Same here. I see the problem with the non-beta release on 6.0.1.
Same here with Prime...
Sliding the other things back and forth then the hide notification bar worked Thanks for the help....
Good find on the work around!

Has anyone else noticed on their pixel or pixel xl that at night, their ui is in dark theme and then during the day is in light theme? I've noticed this on 2 pixel xl devices that at night, my folder, notifications and settings ui is all dark.
I can't find anything on this online though i know dark theme was possible with some tweaks before but this would have come directly with a pixel launcher update.
I'm running stock Android 8.1.0 with the latest security updates.

It's dependant on the wallpaper

I finally got the same answer from someone at the Google helpdesk and realized what it was. I wish they would enable a toggle for the dark theme that followed the sunrise sunset adaptive brightness.
Any one using substratum pitch black or swift black? If so can you post a pic of google photos, android messenger and phone dialer with speaker in the on position. Trying to figure out why when I apply the overlays. It shows bottom in nav bar a different color then what I selected as accent color. Again this is stock 8.1 rooted, xposed, gravity box. Trying to narrow it down if its my end. Have a feeling my framework is fubard and gravity box is the culprit. Id have to do a full reflash of stock image.

Show us how you're either highlighting or hiding your notch. I found this wallpaper that does a great job of blending the notch right in.

You cannot Screenshot the notch. There is hardware in the notch and no screen.
Notch is blacked out using Nacho Notch, allowing me to keep the notification text up there, but with a black background matching the notch and white text/images.
I don't mind the notch at all. It's the blocking of the status bar icons I can't tolerate.

Having come from the Essential phone I'm quite aware of that. I guess I should have worded it differently and asked if people are using wallpapers that are light or dark at the top.
Here is an in-app picture, showing it a little better. The black goes down just enough to cover the notch and still show notifications.
Simple. And I don't really even notice the notch already.

It's not a widget, but kustom live wallpaper with one of their free live wallpaper. Been using it for years and love it.
Yes, I like a lot of folders on my desktop. The background is an image I took with the phone.
These days I like to keep things nice and simple.
Nova Launcher Prime
Pixelful icons
Here's mine!
I don't mind the notch. It's not noticable after a little while.
I forget to change my wallpaper.

what weather app is that?
I'm less concerned about the notch and more concerned about the nav bar. This way I get as much real estate as possible

Love TC & W
Been using it for a couple of years now
Looks good, has good system info, and has the very useful hotspots to trigger apps.
Combine it with Nova and you've got so many gestures and shortcuts available to set up and get you to anything on your phone.
I'm hiding mine with Nacho notch, hopefully google will implement a baked in solution like Essential. Using Nova launcher and as many dark themed apps as possible on stock.
Do you guys also get a white bar on the status bar when you apply a black/dark wallpaper? Its kinda annoying.
I don't see any white bar on your status bar in the SS.

Its not a bar exactly, its like white hue on top on the display. I contacted google and they said it's the pixel launcher that causing it. If i use nova launcher, the display is pitch black.
Yeah I use Nova Launcher Prime. I'd use the Pixel Launcher if it had some for customizations for icons and gestures.

Lets not forget the ability to properly set columns and rows, removing the search bar, dock pages, etc. I honestly have no idea what people think makes the Pixel launcher so great, it's lame at best.

Pretty sure it is not an "issue," but instead part of Google's design. Theming with Substratum removes it too.
the magisk pixel launcher is the best, lets you modify columns, rows, dots vs numbers, etc.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the options is talking about either. Can you take a picture of your phone with another? If screenshots won't show it it might be burn in.

Looks like you hit developer options and took out the notch. I do not have it with the notch, but after doing what you did I have it also with a black background.
