Hey guys, I just recently got some parts for my old One X to start playing with it again (bored with ios). I was running an older version of ViperXL and wanted to get lollipop so my goal was to put CM12.0 on my phone. My recovery was twrp but a version that was older so I had to update it. The in app update wasn't working so I updated cwm instead. When I did this I tried to boot to recovery and it would attempt to go to recovery but then boot back to the os.
Then I was trying to flash the recovery using fastboot which resulted in the same problem. Somewhere in there I flash the recovery.img as my boot image (sudo fastboot flash boot recovery.img) This made my phone repeatedly try to boot into recovery. I tried flashing new ViperXL boot.img as well as a couple others but none let me get into my os again. Now it is just a bootloop trying to start my phone up.
When I try flashing a .zip I get the error 'FAILED (remote: not allowed)'. Flashing recovery and boot images work though.
I've tried a lot and done a lot of searching but nothing can get me into recovery or even out of any sort of bootloop.
I'm using Ubuntu and my phone is S-On if that means anything.
Thanks!
Try restoring any backups of old roms from the recovery. Make sure Recovery is written properly in recovery partition. If this works fine , the appropriate boot.img shud be automatically flashed , i guess.
If u dont have a backup , try finding another one x user using a custom recovery, create a backup from his mobile and copy it to ur sd card by mounting it thru recovery and restore it.
If it doesnt work , wipe all the partitions - System , cache, boot and recovery.. then try flashing a Recovery and then a Boot.img and a rom.
I havent faced such a situation. Just my suggestions as no experts have responded.
Cheers if u have already sorted it out !!!
Hi
I have G8 with TWRP installed and rooted
it was fine until i did reset from setting by mistake .. then my phone wont boot .. only booting to TWRP recovery
can any one provide me stock rom backup to restore it to my phone
Right now the only half useful thing my phone does is get in to download mode, and when I try to flash a stock firmware in download mode any lg software doesn't recognise the model number because the last rom the phone booted in was Lineage.
I had Twrp 3.1 and tried to install Fulmics, it wouldnt boot the aroma installer so i downgraded the version of twrp to 3.0 ish, and now it just doesnt boot in to recovery or anything.
How do I get my phone back to stock? I've since bought an HTC 10 and want to use my G3 for development/a backup.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Did you tried a stock ROM from G3 Android Development flashed via twrp?
The thing is, I can't get in to twrp to begin with. The only thing I have is download mode. No system partition or anything, no data, nothing!

I was unable to flash stock rom update(.ozip file) via TWRP recovery. I was also unable to flash stock recovery as any solid download tool was not available. I was also unable to retrieve the ota downloaded in /data partition(/data/Colouros/Ota), if I could that then using ozip decrypting tool, I could have converted the ozip to zip. What I did at the end I locked the bootloader back again which then wiped everything including twrp. I had to presse volume down button while it showed "Can't boot as the image is destroyed...". Finally the device booted me to the initial set up screen and the stock recovery was restored.
This process will erase everything in internal storage.
I posted this as I could not find anything with the link to restore stock color os recovery. I hope it might help somebody.

You have to download the stock ozip file from realme website(https://www.realme.com/in/support/software-update), then convert it to zip(https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-2-pro/how-to/convert-ozip-to-zip-installing-stock-t4065277), then flash it via twrp, remember to wipe data, as sometimes while reverting back to stock can cause issues, like screen freezing, unable to unlock phone, use subhams recovery(https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Hkv2i0xqzO7o7RrxoFNRHqKyK1Z6eDwD/view?usp=sharing) to flash the stock rom.
recovery?

ozip is available from the website.
If you flash stock rom zip via twrp, twrp will remain, if you relock the bootloader, the phone will format automatically and stock recovery will come back.
Thismorning I had a custom ROM (LineageOS) installed and running perfectly on my Verizon Note 4 (sm-n910v).
I wanted to try and get a Gear VR working but it didn't look like LineageOS had VR support, so I backed up my install via TWRP and flashed the stock Verizon ROM. Now my Note is stuck on the red Verizon boot logo screen and my recovery partition went back to stock as well, not TWRP.
What's more, I can't re-flash TWRP because Odin now fails when I try to flash it (the error it gives is 'rqt_close'). I don't know enough about all this stuff to know what I did wrong.
Can anyone suggest how to get out of this mess I made for myself and ideally restore my LineageOS TWRP backup?
