Is there anyway to change system font on Oreo? I have always used FontFix in the past but it doesn't work now. Thanks!

Woops didn't mean to put it in the roms section. Mods please move if needed.

I moved it for you. Next time you can use the "Report" function to request a move.
Found this in a search for the same, any updates on this?
In the past I have always just gone here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/fonts-flashable-zips-t3219827 and flashed the zip of whatever font I wanted...this doesn't work on Oreo?

Possibly I will give it a shot. Honestly I haven't tried this way I just tried to use the font fix app.
How did it work out?
A very kind person here on XDA did something to the zip file of the font I wanted to flash on my pixel xl...he said:
"Pixels are /system/system when extracting system files, not /system"
So I'm not sure exactly what he changed in the zip but it worked
No idea. Maybe it has to do with where the font files for the device are located? Any devs have input on this? Id love to flash a zip to change my font.

As long as you have a custom recovery it will work just fine
this worked on regular Pixel too

I created a bulk zip file containing all the sets as seen on this page. atticus182 I imagine, is the guy who made them. I followed his automatic method.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/15078-softkeys-softkey-collection-cdmaupdate-22-01/
I included the default softkeys ( gn_softkey_original-liquid.zip ) so you can fall back to it you need/want too. I flashed about half of these so I know they work.
Simple to install, just extract the one you want from the .rar file, copy it to your phone, boot into Recovery, install the zip you uploaded to your phone. Reboot your phone. No wipe or anything needed. You can then go into LiquidControl and change their colors.
Here is the .rar file.

Enjoy

Why it isn't a theme? It's softkeys PNGs.

Didn't work for me and many others, in the end I preferred flashing it.
Fine, if it's considered a theme then maybe it will get moved to theme's.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right spot, but if not can a mod please move it.
Anyway I want to add a notification background to my systemUI, and/or change the statusbar color. I know what to change but I do not know how to compile APKs, so if there is anyone out there who would be willing to do it for me it would be great, I can send you all my files!
Thank you so much in advance!

It's possible, but you would need to flash a custom ROM that supports UI customization to do this.
Swap out images with the same file name using 7 zip but don't extract the ROM

Swapping out the PNG's only works on the computer I've tried on the phone but no dice. Again, make sure you do not extract the ROM, or changing the images will not work!
Correction: NinjaMorph in the Google Play store can alter images from the phone, though its a little bit harder to use in my opinion.

Okay, so I have downloaded Ninjamorph, and I somehow can not find the .png for the notification background for 4.1.1. I'm on the stock ROM, Do you happen to know what the file name is?

I believe that is a hex value in one of the xml files. you would need to decompile and edit the xml to allow custom png images as the background.

Hi all! Here I have posted the Sprint Spark bootanimation used on the new ZVA update . You can download it here. AOSP ROMs: You can use it on your LG G2 or other devices running an AOSP ROM by downloading Root Browser (or some equivalent) and going into system then media and then placing the bootanimation_sprint.zip in there. Then rename the bootanimation.zip file already in there to something like bootanimation_old.zip and rename the new bootanimation_sprint.zip to bootanimation.zip. Then reboot, and if done correctly you should see the sprint spark boot logo Good luck! Comment if you need any help or if I confused you in any way
Also, on CM 10.2 when you update it would change back the boot animation to the stock one. Not sure if it still does this, but let me know if it does .
Youdug's directions for ZVA/ZV8/ZV7: Name bootanimation_sprint.zip, push to system/media, rw-r-r permissions
I like switching those sometimes

Yeah. The Google Edition S4 bootlogo I used to use on my S4 before getting the G2. This bootlogo just looks really nice and all of the old Sprint bootlogos really sucked haha. If you're interested I can add some other bootlogos I have saved from some ROMs, they look pretty cool.

You can also install it using romtoolbox by going to boot animations and selecting it from "local" this way it changes the permissions for you, took me like 2 seconds to install this way, worked perfectly!
I actually used rom toolbox pro... not sure if that makes a difference.
I'm not using an AOSP based ROM, but I'd really like to have a more stock boot animation. Can anyone provide the directions for using this with a stock based ROM?
It still should be in system/media and the directions will be the same(just rename to whatever the rom has the bootani named

ROM toolbox didn't work for me because it looks like it couldn't overwrite the file that was there.
The directions didn't work either until I figured out how to change the permissions using ES File Explorer. Got it working. Beautiful work people.
Now, my only question is... I've found a bunch of cool looking generic animations. They all have different sizes/resolutions. Which one does the LG G2 use?

Theoretically a 1080p+ boot logo should be fine, however, it varies. So the best thing to do is try the one you like and see if it looks right. At worst it'll just look out of res and you could replace it.
I have a problem in replacing stock HTC fonts with some custom fonts using Root explorer. Let's suppose if I wanna replace a certain stock font Alpha with a custom font Beta, I'd simply rename and change that custom font Beta's name to Alpha and replace the stock Alpha with that using Root explorer. It does work for any other devices like Sony, Samsung, and Xiaomi. However, in HTC devices, it only works until I reboot my phone. After reboot, the stock font Alpha ,which supposed to be replaced with font Beta, reappear and the custom font Beta (which replaced Alpha before reboot) doesn't seem to exist there. I know I could easily change my font in Settings>Personalize>Font Style. But I'm just curious if there is any other ways to replace stock fonts with custom fonts? If you don't get my problem, feel free to ask me more. Thank you!

Sorry man i dont know how to make flasheable zips, but just googling you may find so many fonts zips and flash it, theres a thread on 600 fonts under the apps forums for the m9, go over there please!
This is a zip I found elsewhere on XDA that I modified to fix the lock screen symbol problem. This will replace the system font with GoogleSans system-wide. Flash in TWRP.
Warning: I am not a developer. This worked on my OG Pixel XL running 8.1 but I cannot promise it will work for you. Flash at your own risk.

Those fonts are already on my Pixel. How does it change the system font from Roboto to Google Sans? The updater script only copies the fonts to /system/fonts.
Are you referring to the names of the font files in the zip? The actual fonts ARE Google Sans, but they have to be renamed as Roboto in order for the system to utilize them correctly. This zip just replaces the actual Roboto font files with Google Sans files renamed to match.

Thanks you save my day and my lockscreen block fo t on my Pixel Experience.
There is a zip on Magisk Manager called "Product Sans", which does the same thing but systemlessly.
Currently using it on my OG Pixel, the lockscreen clock is fixed so in case you want the systemless version, go check the zip on Magisk Manager.

Yeah it looks normal on stock 8.1 fonts but as soon as I apply Google/Product Sans it goes ugly even though that style of 1 isn't used anywhere else. It's weird.
