Nexus not booting up. Only fastboot and download mode while charging - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello there everyone! Let me explain my problem:
Backstory
I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus GT-i9250 maguro since 7-6 years or so. I've been flashing some roms into it and everything went well since a week ago.
I had installed from a very long time this version of CM "cm-13.0-20160921-NIGHTLY-maguro" and I have not updated it, so I basically was running that from a very long time.
Three weeks ago the phone started behaving strangely, it was closing automatically, and I thought that it was a temperature problem (being a very hot summer) so I did not worry too much.
Everything was working fine, charging and connecting via USB .
Problem
Last week the phone once again died and I tried to boot it up normally as I would normally do, but nothing happened, not even the Google logo popped up.
So I removed the battery and put it back in, the phone booted up to the Google logo, then after two or three seconds the Google logo flashed like brightness went up to 100% and black screen.
Went into fastboot, booted TWRP to see if that was working, and the recovery was working fine.
Things got worse.
At the moment
I cannot get the phone to do anything if it's not connected to a power source.
If the phone is connected via USB, or charger, I can get it to go ONLY on fastboot, and download mode. If I unplug the phone while on fastboot or download mode, the screen brightness goes up to 100% for half a second then it glitches out and goes into black screen immediatelly. I can not access bootloader nor recovery mode from fastboot, because the phone reboots, shows the Google logo and then it dies.
What I tried
Thinking that maybe the ROM went crazy, I followed this guide to flash the phone with all the original ROM and recovery (I downloaded "yakju-jwr66y-factory-4cadea65" and followed the instructions of the guide).
Nothing changed, if the phone is not connected to a power source, it is basically dead, if I put it to a power source it shows the charging logo for a second, then black screen, and I can only boot up fastboot and download mode.
I don't know if this might help but I've also tested the battery voltage and it seems to be fine.
Last thing, if I connect the phone to the PC (with the battery or without) every 2 seconds it shows up that an unidentified device is being detected.
I currently am using a laptop running windows 8.
On my desktop computer the same thing happens (the device detection) but from device manager I see a OMAP4400 (something like that) popping up but at the moment I cannot use my desktop PC since I'm traveling.
I would really like to know what happened to my phone, any answer will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Update [solved]
After doing some research and trying different methods I gave up. But then I realized that maybe trying the stupidest thing could be the solution, so I went to a phone shop and asked them if they had some sort of test battery that I could plug in my phone temporarily to see if it was booting up.
Turns out, it was the battery.
I bought a new battery and now the phone runs smoothly like it's new.
I feel so dumb and I'm so sorry if I've made some of you people waste your time by reading the poem of the first post.
Hopefully this will someday help someone that will have the same problem of my GT-I9250!

Phone only stays shows Sony Logo for a second and shut off

Hey guys.
I am having a problem with my phone (C6503) is when I boot up my phone, it will show the Sony logo for a second and shut off again. When I plug my phone into the charger, it will do this in a loop.
This all started when I flashed MIUI v5 from here (I have a locked bootloader, and it can't be unlocked): ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2520793 ) and I was simply using it one time and it was suddenly shutting off on me. The phone would also would also say the battery was at 85% then shut off on me and when I turned it back on, it said it was 5%. It got worse, when I powered on my phone while the charger was in, it would boot up, and when I unplugged the charger, it would shut off. Now, when I power on the phone, it displays the Sony logo for a second, and then shuts off.
Thankfully, I can still access Flashboot and FastBoot mode on the phone when it's plugged into a computer.
At first, I thought it was my ROM that I flashed earlier, so I tried flashing a stock ROM that I came from earlier. I tried a couple of stock ROMs and it didn't work, I also tried flashing stock kernels to it, too, and no change. I'm starting to think that my phone could possibly be dying on me from a hardware prospective instead of a software prospective, and it may not be the ROM I flashed earlier, since I was able to use it earlier before this started to happen.
Any help will be thanked.
I`m having the exact same problem (it started when I flashed the same rom, btw), did you find a way to solve this?
I have this problem too... my xperia is c6504 and I can't find a stock for it, I tried everything.. need help

D855 Stuck in Bootloop-- Light Sensor and Vibration Still Work

I'm having a weird problem. Yesterday I was using my phone as I normally do-- texting, playing simple puzzle games, etc.-- when I noticed the battery was at about 2%. I wasn't very concerned so I tried to send one last text before it died. Shortly afterward it died with the usual "Powering Down" alert. I thought absolutely nothing of it and once I had access to a charger, I did what I normally do: I turn on my phone, wait for it to get past the LG splash screen, and I plug it in once it gets to the boot animation. I do this so my phone will turn on instead of going into charge only mode. Also, like usual, my phone's screen dimmed seconds after the boot animation began (I assume from my automatic light sensor settings), and I could feel it vibrating a little (also something it typically does upon boot).
However this is as far as it got. I was very confused when about an hour later, the phone still hadn't completed boot. I removed the battery, inserted it again, and tried once more telling myself that I would wait as long as I could instead of just an hour. Booting the second time gave me identical results-- everything is normal (light sensor response and vibration indicating the phone is powering on) yet it gets stuck. The only difference is that this time I got to see the entire bootloop.
After the boot animation screen has run for a while, I get the usual "Android is starting.... Optimizing app ## of ##" (#= actual numbers). Once it finishes, instead of booting my phone, it begins the boot animation again. If left alone it will cycle between the boot animation and the "Android is Starting" screen indefinitely.
TL;DR:
1. ) Caught in bootloop between boot animation screen and "Android is Starting... Optimizing app ## of ##" screen.
2. ) The screen still dims and there are little vibrations that usually tell me the phone is about to turn on.
I have tried:
- a hard reset- this yields only a slightly stronger vibration and it starts the bootloop again.
- Download mode- this does the same as the hard reset
- Removing battery for a while- no results
- Full charge to completely dead to full charge again on charge only mode- no results
I am running CM13 Nightlies from late February (not completely sure which exact date). Which I flashed without issue about a month ago. I do have Xposed and run various modules, but I was using nothing at the time and hadn't for about a month. My computer recognizes my phone as an LG G3 Device, but refuses to access any files.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Phone not starting.
First remove phone battery, insert it again, do not start phone. Connect your phone to original charger and charge it, while charging with the charger start your phone. Your phone should start if yes/no report me immediately. Your phone battery is failing to start your phone (Due to Low Voltage in battery). Replace with original battery.

Alright, I removed the battery, reinserted it (without turning the phone on) plugged it into the wall charger (seeing the charge only battery animation), and attempted to turn it on. Whenever I try to turn my phone on after plugging it in, I get the LG splash screen followed by the battery charging animation. It never reaches the boot animation. I'll let it charge for a while and try again.
Thank you for the advice!
Okay, I let the phone charge completely and attempted to turn it on whilst plugged into the wall charger again. Unfortunately I had the same issue. The phone shows the LG splash screen and then the battery charging animation again-- no boot animation.

Yeah, I'm trying to avoid a full reflash/data wipe. Since I haven't messed around with any Xposed modules or root apps, I also haven't backed up anything for quite a while. No abnormal apps were running before the battery died, which leads me to believe this can be solved somehow without a full wipe.
Also, I tried to use my boyfriend's battery to boot up my phone. I thought it might be a bad battery-- as some people on-line have mentioned. Unfortunately, it still refused to boot and it produced the same bootloop.
You see , if and not and this and that dont help . te only way to save files is to get acces by recovery or boot, you cant boot but possible you have recovery so start saving your files you need. when you have or dont have your files . you stil need your system to boot for that to happen, it needs to work. so flashing a default rom with wipe sould work if it doesnt you flash original if that doesnt work its dead

I think I forgot to mention, I cannot access recovery mode. I have the latest TWRP installed, but attempting to boot into recovery gives me the same results-- endless bootanimation/ "Android is Starting" bootloop.
So no acces at all . so what do you do ? Read above! Anyway good luck

Solved
I fixed my problem. It turns out I was being an idiot and got the method of entering recovery mode on the LG G3 confused with my Samsung tablet. I should be able to fix the bootloop on my own now. Thanks everyone for your help! Cheers to idiocy.
Hey, I have the exact same issue right now. Did you solve your problem, and how? I tried removing the battery and charging with original charger to 100%. I connected it to my PC, went into Download mode and clicked "Restore Upgrade Errors" in LG PC Suite. It successfully flashed the firmware update, then it said "Android is starting.... Optimizing app ## of ##". But after that it restarted into bootlop again. Also I noticed that sometimes it vibrates, and my LED (light sensor) doesn't light up anymore.
Any advice? I haven't tried replacing the battery yet.

Hi, the solution that worked for me was to
1. install drivers
2.install LGUP
3.flash "LGD855P_D855P10a_04" - found here https://drive.google.com/file/d/18tlmVNK_ba0jIapJy-Sz5wamxbIXh8xH/view

[Q] Bricked LG G3

Hello guys,
2 days ago my phone randomly bricked itself. It wasn't rooted or anything, everything on it was stock (I've been using it for 2 years).
Before the brick, I had the screen flickering issue, my WiFi stopped working and the sound also (this happened during a period of 2 months) - during this period my battery started draining very fast, I could use the phone for max 2 hours per day (stand-by or use, doesn't matter).
So 2 days ago I ran out of battery and left the phone to charge during the night. When I woke up, I tried to turn the phone on but at first It got stuck at the PIN insertion, and after rebooting it twice it just got stuck in a boot loop.
So what I did was follow the TOT guide and tried to flash a stock rom. All went well until I tried to do a factory reset before initial boot - I got a kernel crash and my phone is unable to enter download mode since this moment (the loading screen shows up, and once it loads the screen goes black and my phone is recognized as qualcomm. etc).
At this moment I found about BoardDiag and used the software in order to try to repair my phone. Everything works well with BoardDiag, but once it finishes it's job reboots, I get kernel crashes yet again and I am still unable to enter download mode (It's like the program didn't do anything and the phone just reverts itself to It's previous state).
So is this a hardware issue or am I doing something wrong?
Anyone?

this is the best method so far.
replace your battery as known to cause corruption boot problems when dying
Also try this..... download LG mobile support tool and install + run, ignore start upgrade > battery out > battery in (dont power on) USB cable in pc not phone > hold volume up plug in usb to phone, you will get download mode in blue in box on phone > now on pc > LG mobile support tool > choose options then UPGRADE RECOVERY. will take 57+ mins to complete (over 1 hour) it might seem stuck frozen at 10% to 22% it's not just wait it out...

As I said in the thread, I've already tried this but when the phone reboots and when I try to enter download mode again the phone is not being recognized again.

US Unlocked stuck in bootloop. Unable to boot into recovery/download.

Okay, I have never had to create a thread for this kind of thing. I have always been able to solve these issues. This time around, I have ran out of ideas. I have been searching and searching Google, Xda and any other Android forum. I have seen multiple threads with this problem, some cases exactly like mine. Not one thread with this problem ends with a solution, they're all just dead ends. My HTC 10 started doing this a couple days ago after a notification popped up saying that I was using an incompatible charger after using a Samsung USB cable on a Quickcharge 3.0 car charger. 30 minutes later, my capacitive touch buttons were not responding. So, I just figured that I would reboot and everything would be fine. Now, my phone is stuck in a bootloop with no signs of recovery. The only thing it will boot into is the white bootloader screen. Trying to boot into recovery or download just throws it back into a bootloop. When its powered off and I put it on a charger, the charging animation will show for about 15 seconds then, back into a bootloop. Trying to use a RUU.exe doesnt work, just a message shows up saying that my phone is below 30% charge. The device will show up in fastboot devices when its in the bootloader but, its useless. Trying to flash anything in fastboot fails or does nothing. The bootloader doesnt recognize 2PS6IMG.zip in the sd card. I really need my phone for work and cant afford to wait for HTC to repair it, especially since Hurricane Harvey hit their repair center in Houston. I've taken out the Sd Card and sim to see that would help but nothing. I let it die completely and still nothing.
My bootloader screen shows
Status: Official
***Unlocked***
***S-OFF***
I have been running Viper 3.5.0 for awhile.
This is my last option to see if anyone else has got through this problem without sending it off.
Thank you

Hold down the power button and vol down until your phone reboots. It'll take 20 seconds or so, and the capacitive button lights should flash until it reboots.
That should take you to download mode where the RUU.zip on your SD can be flashed.
If that doesn't work, try power + vol up + vol down, then switching to power + vol down when the screen goes black. I think I remember having to do that once when I first got the 10 for a different problem, but it could have been a different device

Razer phone stuck on boot screen after attempted root

I followed this guide:https://forum.xda-developers.com/razer-phone/how-to/twrp-magisk-fullproof-guide-razers-wifi-t3756137 to root my razer phone. This was the first time I tried, so I used the steps all the way at the bottom. After rebooting around step 7, it has stayed on the logo for around 3 hours now. It's not detected by ADB, so I cant flash anything or reboot it, and the buttons are not responding. I've tried holding the power button with volume down, and other combinations but it just doesn't work. I'm wondering, is there any solution for this? Or do I just need to wait for the battery to die? Thanks in advance for any responses.
Hi
to get to another mode you need to have the phone connected to a PC or Mac, so plug it into the usb and power off, once it is off hold volume down, this should make it go into download mode from there follow this link ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/razer-phone/help/razer-phone-os-t3772424 ) and you should get back to stock and you can retry to root from scratch or leave your phone as stock
Hope this helps

If you got it to download mode but cannot communicate with the phone check your fastboot and drivers. You need Google USB drivers and the absolute latest fastboot. There are other posts here that can help you find the right stuff

I assume your phone looks just like mine at the moment.
Happened to mine after running the ODP flash_all.
What's odd is I had run it multiple times because trying the different GSIs and going back to nougat once.
The last time I ran it, it resulted in this.
I've tried multiple computers and cables to no avail.

Mine was stuck like that months ago. I let it run the battery dry, charged it full, and followed the instructions from Razer to flash stock files. It worked for me

That was my next thing.
Seems mine ran out of juice earlier.
It's automatically kicking to that screen once plugged in.
Completely dead, the charging light blinks red for a minute to get it on, then jumps to the logo screen, charging light turns off.
Kind of thinking mine is toast :-/

Hi follow the link from my comment above and give yours a try, don't think yours is toast just think it's in a boot loop cycle

I´ve got this Screenproblem with the Oreo Update with sideload, it flash but then only this Screen, i found my mistake.
My solution was to do an critical unlock for Bootloader, than install 7.1 and than sideload 8.1 OTA, now it works very fine and much smother than before
[EDIT] After letting the battery run dry again last night, plugging my phone back into my laptop booted into download mode, again with the same display as below. Fastboot again recognised the device & after doing some searching, I'd seen another suggestion somewhere else I hadn't yet tried, which was forcing the phone to partition a (to be honest I couldn't even remember which partition I'd left it in from the attempted root)
The command is "fastboot set_active a && fastboot reboot"
I did this as soon as I was able to, rather than leaving it charging (this may be unrelated, but worth considering if you're still stuck)
after this, I got to the Razer logo screen lock (instead of the blank screen lock below), I was then able to follow Razer's instructions - which are linked in one of the comments on the link from the 2nd post here (hope that makes sense)
Now I'm happy to report everything is working, back to factory
I hope this can help someone else [EDIT]
I'm unfortunately in the same position, did you have any luck flashing back to factory?
I also tried following the guide from the 2nd link, these were the steps I took:
(I can confirm my bootloader is unlocked & critical also unlocked)
1. allowed battery to run dry
2. plugged into laptop whilst holding volume -
3. phone now in download mode with battery charge symbol on screen, I left it some time to charge but noticed it got stuck as per the screenshot (for approx. 6 hours)
4. device not recognised by adb, but recognised by fastboot
5. phone not accepting any fastboot commands, when attempting 'flash_all.bat' just hangs on the first line (flash partition:0 gpt_both0.bin), I have to close command line & reopen to try anything else, however whatever I try I get the same result, so basically the only responses I'm getting from fastboot are that it is aware of the device and confirms the bootloader incl. critical is unlocked
My next thought was the perhaps the phone attempted to boot once it reached the picture charge level and therefore locked in the same way it had initially on the razer logo. Should I attempt flashing the factory image immediately once the phone enters download mode, rather than allowing it to continue charging until it's flashed? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Been a while since anybody posted, I know... but did anyone who had this problem end up figuring it out? I am in the same situation and am freaking out a little bit, I JUST got this phone...
Just try this and should solve your problems
