I am looking to upgrade my p607t from lollipop 5.1.1 to either {RR-N-v5.8.4-20170808-lt03lte-Unofficial} or {lineage-14.1-20170816-nightly-lt03lte-signed}.
I would like to get some opinions..... which one do you prefer? I like what i hear about the customization options from RR, but I am concerned about the unofficial version, and how easy/difficult it would be to update it as necessary. I was also wondering how the battery life and stability compare.
Thanks all
RR unofficial has the same few bugs as Lineage unofficial, as they are from the same dev, Lineage official is said to be in a hardly useable state.

What seems more important is battery. Can anybody using CM 14.1 make out the difference in battery stats !
OOS Nougat isn't released yet. how can we choose the right answer in the poll ???
Do Cyanogenmod ad latest android security patch in their nightly builds
Always.
what is the status of camera app in CM 14.1 ?
Just got an unused v500 . What should I do, leave it with Android 4? Or install ASOP 7.1? Whats best for normal usage? Is it fast enough for the newest Android version? Any disadvantages?
I have v500 since past two years, so far AOSP 7.1 and LineageOS official latest nightly are the best , though I prefer Lineage since AOSP 7.1 has some performance issues.
Thanks I give the Lineage thingy a try then.
Hi everybody,
I'm currently running official LineageOS 14.1 but the battery life isn't that good.
Has someone tried both Resurrection Remix and LineageOS to tell me the difference please ?
I mean I don't want to reinstall everything if it's not better
Thank you
You could try installing RR with dual boot patcher to see it yourself, it's not difficult at all and you can keep lineage untouched. Anyway I don't think RR has a great improvement on battery over lineage. Hope it helped
Hi there. I am on RR 5.8.3 actual. I'm very satisfied with the battery life of the phone. It's lives longer than on original LG Stock Rom. I've tried Imperium Rom too and liked it much but RR based now on 7.1.2 and Imperium just 6.0. So it's you're Decide. But you can't install Imperium with DualBootPatcher cause it comes with the Aroma Installer. That doesn't work with the Patcher.
As far as I can tell, there are no major differences in battery performances between the most common AOSP or CM derived android roms. It will mostly depends on the apps you install.
Thanks everyone
Hi people,
So few weeks ago I moved from LineageOS to Resurrection Remix, but the thing is this is an unofficial build and the LineageOS one is official. The Resurrection Remix ROM is not updated anymore for my device. Should I go back to an official Lineage image, which gets updates frequently? I am running a quite outdated version of resurrection remix right now.
I do love Resurrecction Remix as it has more customizability than LineageOS. But thing is I care about security too.

I think you are on the safe side when using Resurrection Remix together with self-updating Gapps. Google will continuously scan your phone.
When you care about privacy as much as about security you should have a look at https://lineage.microg.org/
I've been running Lineage os 14.1 for a while and I want to change rom and upgrade to oreo, so which is the best 8.x rom so far?

Depends on what your looking for. The best way to find out is try it for yourself. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to roms. If you want simplicity and perhaps stability, stay on LOS. Personally LOS lacks certain customizations I really prefer not to give up. I ran crDroid on my Galaxy S4 and found it to my liking more then other roms. Personally I felt like it had the best kernel development of an Los based roms for that device. Since jumping back to an LG G3 I stuck with crDroid because I find the performance great, stability is great, and it has the feature set I like the most. Plus firebird was the maintainer of crDroid for my S4 variant) That said RR(Resurrection Remix) is amazing as well. For that matter all the major roms are great. You really can't go wrong.
