CM13 Music has stopped working - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, my music app not working on my GT5200 Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. Whenever I boot up the tablet, I get the message saying the app has stopped working, and no music player works for it, occasionally some music might play, but that would be completely random. Does anyone know of any solutions to this? The source of the problem appears to be the "Eleven" music player.

Ghost Music Player

Ok, this was just damn strange - So my Nexus was in my pocket and I take it out. Out of no where, songs start playing that I have in my library without me having pressed any buttons. My first thought was maybe I accidentally hit a button and no big deal. So I open my current apps and see that the google music player wasn't even on. I launched the actual google music app to then stop the song from there and couldn't locate the "Now Playing" song either! So I was left with no other choice but to restart the phone!
Anyone else experience this one?
How odd. Do you have any other music/media players? Even possibly a file manager? Maybe there's a bug with one of them.

I have a very similar issue, but it occurs most often when I automatically connect to Bluetooth in my car. I use Spotify so it clashes with Google Music too and causes this scramble of both players playing music on top of each other.
But I am very curious about this too, although it pops up primarily on my bluetooth. Google Music will just begin playing songs and further more I don't ever use it or initiate it. After a while I will get an error saying "Music has unexpectedly stopped working".
I've also closed the app as much as possible in Settings>Apps so I don't understand why it keeps playing and showing up repeatedly.
I had this issue with the Google music player also, I use power amp pro as my main music player and one day music started to play, I checked power amp pro and nothing so then I checked Google music and that was the problem. I disabled Google music. Also Google music app was force closing on me ever few days don't know why.

[Q] Play Music sudden pause bug

Hey all,
I am experiencing a new bug with the stock Play Music app over the past week. With headphones or an auxiliary cable for my stereo plugged in, the player will pause randomly when a song is playing. And when I unpause the song it will play for anywhere between 5 and 10 seconds before pausing again. This keeps me from being able to hear an entire song. I know it is not a hardware problem because I am able to play Pandora without the music pausing. It is a problem that only occurs in the stock play music app. I am on stock 4.1 on Verizon. I am currently using jame bond khlang kernel.
Any ideas? I have tried uninstalling and re installing as well as clearing data. Nothing has helped. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] Music playing, but no sound

The problem:
My M8 is having difficulty playing music with sound. When I try to play music on the phone, the song will play. However, there will be no sound coming out from the speakers.
What I tried already:
I tried using a different music player. I downloaded Shuttle+ and tried to play, but I keep getting the same issue. Sometimes, when I reboot the phone, the stock music app works properly, but after the currently playing song is done, it would again play but not produce sound. If I go to the Shuttle app and play a song while the song plays with no sound on the stock music app, the Shuttle app works fine. But then after the song is done on Shuttle, I have to switch to the stock music app for sound to come out properly.
I remember how Google limited SD card functionality (my music was on my sd card). So I transferred the songs onto the phone storage, but I still have the issue. Then I figured that the issue might be my mp3 files. I deleted them all to try to isolate the problem. I tried playing song from the Google Play Music app and it appears to be working fine. This morning, the google play music also exhibiting the same problem. So even Spotify is having the problem. The music will load and the slider will move to indicate the song is playing, but again no sound. I tried deleting the data of all the music apps I have and they still do not work properly.
I have xposed modules installed so I disabled all of them and restarted the phone, but the problem persists.
Also, the boomsound speakers are functioning properly. Youtube videos and regular video files play with sound. I only appear to be having problems with music.
Phone modification:
This is probably really important to figuring out what the issue is. My phone is rooted and S-off. I have xposed installed with the following modules: forced immersive mode, greenify, keepchat, nfciconremover, snapshare, unicon, youtube adaway.
Other than that, the phone is stock.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Solution
I performed a factory reset and started all over to isolate what modification caused this music bug.
Turns out, it was flashing the Tethering mod located here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708548
If you are currently experiencing this problem, go back to pure stock OR simply flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2731893
Now, if you still want tethering, install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715671.
I can confirm that installing that will give you tethering and not break music functionality!

I no longer have the M8, but I had the exact same issue. I also thought that it had something to do with storing my music to the SD Card via Google Play Music.
I would back up, flash a Rom and see if that fixes it. I'm guessing it will work fine and it's just something happened from xposed.

[Q] Stock Galaxy Music Player stopps running

Hello,
I listen to some podcasts on my phone, and after upgrading to Kitkat, I found that if I pause playback and want to resume after a while, it resets from the beginning.
After some poking around, it seems that the player app and services close automatically after 2 minutes of inactivity. This did not happen on JB before the update.
I have tried using other music apps from the play store and they do not show this behavior and can resume playback normally.
Can I do something about this issue or is this built into the app or the OS. I like the stock player and rather not use a different app if I don't have to.
If it is relevant, I am running on stock firmware 4.4.2 (I9195XXUCNH5).

Problems with music in Lineage OS 14.1 on my S7 Edge

Hello guys.
I seem to have a problem while playing music on my S7 Edge (SM-G935F). I'm currently on my latest Lineage OS 14.1 nightly at the time of this post creation (hero2lte 2018-04-10 build). So basically, whenever I play music on the stock Music app, the music initially plays normally and smoothly (although most of the time I have to re-tap the play button for the music to actually run). When the phone sleeps, occasionally the music has some crackling, glitching sounds, which is ear-piercing and not at all favourable. The crackling sound is a bit similar to the sound produced when the headphone jack is loosened and readjusted. In worse cases, the music pauses until the phone is turned back on.
A few minutes after stopping and quitting the music app, the phone suddenly restarts by itself without any prior signs of lag or extreme RAM usage. This usually occurs when the phone goes to sleep. The restart also happens whenever I leave my phone to sleep with a Youtube video paused. I tried clearing apps in Recents, and freeing up some RAM using Booster but none of them made any difference. It is only when after the restart the music plays normally before these problems happen again.
Other music apps seem to have the same problem as well. The issue becomes more prominent with Google Play Music, but zero problems arise with Yonder Music (though its service was discontinued now). Spotify and sometimes Vanilla Music also shows a few signs of this problem. This problem also seems to be random. Sometimes the stock Music app plays smoothly, sometimes Google Play Music plays flawlessly, and sometimes both cannot even play a whole song during sleep.
I have been googling this issue a lot but to no avail, none shows up to be the same problem as mine. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any solution to this odd issue I'm facing? Thanks.
