Xiaomi support their devices longer than you'll own the device. They're still updating 5 year old devices. Google MIUI 10 and you'll find a list of devices going back to at least 2013 that are still being updated.
Hello
I would like to buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 AI Edition (please see the image in the attached file ), but is there a difference between this version and the pro version, is there any difference in the system version and the possibility of installing custom rom ?
thank you
yes there's difference in camera hardware between AI version and pro version but don't worry
but all custom rom here in xda works on both device it's Unified same oneplus 3 and 3t
only difference is in camera. rest everything same you can use same roms on all the whyred. they have same code as well.
I'm planning of getting one also, would like to know if the camera can be modded also? Such as camera 2 api.
Hi
I have xiaomi redmi note 5 global version
I wanted to update to the latest miui so i downloaded the rom from here
https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=341&m=yes&app=false
It says for xiaomi redmi note 5 pro but i downloaded it and it worked but i noticed a decrease in camera performance
Is this the right rom to install or i should have downloaded this one
https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=342&m=yes&app=false
Please help me
Both are same ROM only..
Last time i checked, ( 10 minutes before posting this), The specs for Mi A2 Lite and Redmi 6 pro are totally the same, except the network bands. We can even assume that Redmi 6 pro is just rebranded version of Mi A2 Lite for India (and some other countries where they are being sold, if any). So, is it at all possible to flash that Android one directly into Redmi 6 pro, or do we need to make some modifications to the package.
Another short question...(as am a newbie and i would like the community to push my knowledge limit a little further). Is it at all possible to flash android one on to any other phone, whatever the specs maybe(same and different).
Edit - I found some interesting facts - Mi A2 Lite is indeed the Global version of Redmi 6 pro
- Redmi 6 pro uses a classic partitioning system while A2 lite uses the A/B system. So direct flashing the stock android one rom will brick it.
New questions - is there any ways to change the partition system from one to the other?
is there some way, we 'stock rom' lust hounds get a hand on it using this 6 pro?
And did you think about the notch?
Mi a2 rom
Did it work
Jay: Did you try A2 or A2 Lite?

Basically you can't flash Android one version of daisy on sakura. You can port android one for sakura or install a previous one which is ported and almost works fine.

Hey! I've been thinking the same thing, and I've tinkered around the fastboot stock images for both the A2 Lite and the 6 Pro. The stock image for Daisy contains a img named "partition" and I think this is what makes the A/B partition in the phone. I haven't tried it, But I'm think of doing it. editing all the flash_all.sh files in the Android One ROM from the A2 Lite, i.e replacing all codename "daisy" with "sakura" so it doesn't throw a invalid device error. I'll update

how were you able to flash the android one rom i also want to put it on my redmi 6 pro
I have two questions :
- I didn't find the stock Android One images for this device anywhere. Where can I find them?
- I've read that the Redmi 6 Pro supports Quick charge, but not the Mi A2 Lite, so I guess the difference is in the Kernel? Can I flash the Redmi 6 Pro stock ROM in this device ?

Firmware you can find here: http://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=354&m=yes&app=false
This Firnware is not compatible with Redmi 6 Pro!
This is the MIUI 10 ROM, but where to find the Android One stock ROM ?
Also from what I understand the Mi A2 Lite and thé Redmi 6 Pro are the same but with different partitions. So if flashing it throught MiFlash repartitionates it, why can't it be compatible ?

It's Android Oreo ROM, Android one version.
