Hello, I've been trying to carrier unlock this Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 for a while now and nothing seems to work, I've tried apps, tried the the tutorials in this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843323 post but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll quote my question from that thread here:
So I tried both of these methods, but neither worked. The "nv_data.bin" file is there, but not the .md5 version of it and when I open nv_data.bin with a hex editor it is empty, even with full permissions. Any help? My model number is: SM-T217S.
If anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated, it is a Sprint tablet, running the latest firmware and stock ROM. The tablet is rooted.
Thanks in advance!

There should be options to fix your imei within a custom rom
Hi Everyone,
I have a rooted Galaxy Nexus, Verizon version, and just flashed this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737849
Unfortunately I did not do a backup of my IMEI folder, which I realize now was a huge mistake. If I do a "*#06#" then the screen comes up with a blank IMEI. Baseband version is unknown, network unknown, phone number unknown.
I've been searching around all afternoon and tried a few things, namely:
Installing the JDQ39 radio, and
Manually adding my APN (Verizon)
The radio didn't seem to make any difference, and I was unable to get my Verizon APN to show up in my list of "Access Point Names." After I save the info and name it still doesn't appear on the list, even after a reboot.
So, I'm not sure if I'm even on the right track, the most promising post I've found is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17587351
But in that post, the OP says I must have the "shipped original EFS folder on my phone," and I don't really know where to even look for that. If anyone has any insight I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks in advance for the help.

That is for GSM GNex aka Maguro. Maybr trying to flash stock image from google....

Wow, there I was thinking I had bricked this thing and really I was just dumb enough to download the wrong version. I flashed a ROM that was actually meant for my phone, reflashed the right radios, and now it works again! Thanks for the help.

Hey guys soo i rooted, then got a recover but forgot to backup and then i did advanced wipe where i deleted everything. I then got a custom rom and everything worked fine until I realised baseband was unknown and imei was nowhere to be found. I then went back to stock firmware via sammobile. Baseband is back but imei is now 00499.... I've looked for hours and can't seem to find a way to get it back. Ia there anyone who can help? Perhaps a software to rewrite imei? Any help is much appreciated guys
EDIT: i can get my hands on another note 2, can i simply copy the efs folder and replace it into my note 2?
Hi,
i purchased the Samsung Tab 3, when i received it, it showed Tab 3 Kids! i wanted for my mom, but this one is very slow!
can i get rid of this kids rom, and install normal samsung tab 3 rom? on google, there are many types of the tab: SM-T210, 211 and others. does one of them will work?
and what shall i use: odin or CWM?
regard.
any response? thanks
First of all, you have to find out exactly which model of tab you have.....
Settings>>about device>>model number.
Then you have to go to sammobile dot com or samsung-updates dot com and download the corresponding firmware.
Then use Odin (not recovery/cwm) and a PC to flash it.

i know that, my question is: can i replace this Samsung kids firmware / rom with normal tab 3 rom?
This is why we need the model number. I didn't ask just for the fun of it. The model number will help us identify whether there is a normal firmware for it.
Edit....probably best to check which model it is in download mode....The existing firmware may have changed the info in 'about device' whereas the info in download mode can't be changed.

the model is SM-T2105, it's 7", 1G memory and 8G storage

sorry but i though that you know the model number or i have mentioned it before. sorry again.
Yes....you did mention the model number before, but I needed to know if what is displayed in download mode said something different...

I am also interested in changing my daughters t2105 kids into a non-kids tablet (she is older now). I tried gr8noles nolekat for t210 but all i get are bootloops. A nice guide would be great if it is even possible?
Many Thanks, Lee.
To anybody posting in this thread.....
Contact Samsung....ask them if this tab is one of the standard (grown up) versions with a child friendly software package on it. If it is, find out which version of the tablet it is.....
Then flash a pit file with the correct software package. I can provide a link to where you can get the pit file, but until you get 100% accurate information as to WHICH TABLET IT IS, you DON'T want to start messing around with pit files.
im trying to unlock my tablet using the method outlined here, but i have run into an issue. i keep getting an error and from what i have read it seems that it might be an issue with the file combination file im using. i searched and found a few others but im not sure which to use.
i have an SM-T830 wifi us model. i tried the COMBINATION_FAC_FA81_T830XXU1ARG4 file but it has not worked. i found the following files but dont know which to use:

COMBINATION_FAC_FA81_T830XXU4ASH1
COMBINATION_FAC_FA81_T830XXU3ASG1
COMBINATION_FAC_FA81_T830XXU2ARI2
COMBINATION_FAC_FA81_T830XXU1ARH2
if anyone can help me out i would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance!

You match the XXU to your firmware, so if your tablet has XXU3 YOU CAN Firmware, you must use a combination ROM with XXU3 as well.
I am in the same place. I think my version is xxu5 though. See attachment. I cannot find it anywhere. I'm going to try to make one I guess. I can't even access recovery. Only download mode. Anything I do in Odin fails. I have The tablet rooted with Magisk 25.2. I unchecked OEM unlock in developer options and accidentally rebooted instead of rechecking OEM unlock.
