AOSP-X - Experimental Android 7.1.2 for Nexus5 with unofficial Xposed Framework and GravityBox integrated
This ROM is now deprecated. Use official Xposed Framework with a ROM of your choice instead.
Purpose
I built this ROM for my personal use for the purpose of migrating GravityBox to Nougat until official Xposed Framework is available, since I needed as clean and as stable environment as it was possible to get.
Since XDA community is often also about exploring and experimenting with new things I decided to share it with the community.
This ROM should be treated as experimental and may contain bugs - whether coming from Android itself - caused by Nougat not being officially available for the Nexus5
- or from the Xposed Framework itself - as its unofficial version is far from being complete and bug-free.
If you feel adventurous, feel free to experiment and maybe provide a feedback.

This built was updated to the latest 7.1.2_r33 branch from AOSP repository.
Xposed Framework
ROM was compiled with ART and app_process patches provided by abforce which he introduced to bring unofficial Xposed Framework to Nougat.
XposedBridge is my personal version which is slightly different than one distributed with unofficial Xposed Framework ZIPs. Namely:
- it has resource injection fixed which is needed for the modules that inject fake resources into foreign packages during runtime
- it loads GravityBox implicitly which means Xposed Installer app is not required
GravityBox
GravityBox is integrated directly into the system partition and implicitly loaded by XposedBridge during boot.
It is a special "lightweight" version that was specifically designed for AOSP-X and thus is stripped off of all the code that was related to other
devices and systems. It will run only on this ROM (it will refuse to run if extracted and used on a different ROM).
Other modules
If you want to experiment with additional modules, simply install Xposed Installer app.

I spotted a bug and i thought perhaps it might help you:
Some thing are get doubled, for example:
Lock-screen Shortcuts are displayed in 2 identical rows.
Navigationbar->"Additional/Extra/Custom Button" (dont know the right translation)

Thanks for the feedback. Redundant issue is strange. It looks like if module was loaded 2 times. Maybe check "adb logcat -s Xposed" which should tell you if this was the case. Anyway, I'm leaving home for a vacation soon and will be offline for more than a week.

And it should be "Beim gedrückt Halten". Notice the upper case "H" due to the nominalised verb. This is the same for both the 1901 orthography and the 1996/2004/2006/2017 variants.

THIS ROM IS CONFIRMED COMPATIBLE WITH XT1063/64....I CAN'T GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK WITH XT1068/69 UNTIL SOMEONE TESTS IT!

Please go through the ROM build up process in your mind, if you know how a ROM is built.
With that in mind, don't Tell a Developer what they should and what they shouldn't do, because, what users see is the end result that's it. Debugging ROM's, when sources are buggy is time consuming. And these new ROM's bring new features, the features aren't just lying in AOSP.
Respect Development and Developer's and most importantly have patience.
Guys, if you think a ROM is not complete, but the dev is no longer maintaining it, you have only one choice left: complete it yourself. The developers have no obligation to you whatsoever. Remember, you're not paying them (and donations do not count as payment, it only shows that you value the dev's work).

Its really i am waiting for Titan Prime ROM Update 1.1.3
this rom is not capable for xt1068/69
i just flashed it on my device xt1068 i got error [unfortunately system ui has stopped} i think this rom is not capable for xt1068/69 yet maybe we can expect something in Future[emoji14][emoji14]?

INSTALLATION
1. Make sure you have latest recovery for your device

3. Do a complete wipe

1. Download zip and flash in recovery after rom
2. Reboot and open Synapse
3. Grant root and enjoy.
*NOTE* CyberKernel Kernel Manager is optional and is considered for power users.. Please be careful using it and if your phone blows up because of something you didn't know what you are doing then don't cry to me..

I've only got the one on me right now, I'm currently on a test build of up comming ROM from gzr, Tesla. I'll nandroid and get more screenies up later
camera wasnt working, reflashed to try again and it was the same thing. It lets you take 1 picture then freezes, you need to reboot to regain camera functionnality but it will crash again after first picture.

K I'll let @chris4824 know, i will also post previous build which was running flawlessly for myself
Edit: was this with the stock camera or another camera, I've always used snap camera, I havnt flashed this updated yet for validus but snap camera was working on last build

Setting, language and input and select (English,Canada) than reboot. I believe that's when mine switched to celcous, but I also enabled google now around the same time..... Try the first method there and hopefully it works, I was wondering same thing for bit

Just flashed the Rom and i must say the boot animation is pretty slick,very quick to flash as well...Good Job guys look forward to this being my new go to ROM

Sorry for late response been mad busy, one quick way if you are running nova launcher would be to define a gesture that opens recent apps
Does anyone else find their mobile data connection (not wifi) consistently drops or gets disconnected, requiring a reboot?
I find that Bluetooth gets stuck to off intermittently requiring reboot.

I've also had this with multiple ROMs, just a heads up also that ground zero ROMs has also released another ROM for our device and its aosp based with rro layers, and a tonne of other features. Its called Tesla, I'll grab the links in a bit

INTRODUCTION
This project brings the Aroma Installer working on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. As you know the original version doesn't start on the Qualcomm variant and, on the Exynos version, there are random stucks. Also onsider that this version may works on other devices!

Everything works fine now, i don't know... maybe a bug inside the "read more" function. I clicked on it so many times but the last post didn't show up so i wrote a new message and it got fixed..

Only thing that of course is an issue is twrp bleeding through. Just curious do you have any leads or anything as to what you think could be causing that?

I know what causes the problem, it's due to the framebuffer and how it gets opened over the recovery. I didn't touch the source code since the latest release... i'm too much busy!

Im pretty experienced messing around with the scripts and stuff but havent tried to play around with the binaries or anything though.

Well, i've started again to work on this project. I will do my best to implement a new Framebuffer and hopefully the transparency issue will be fixed!

Welcome to the cleanest rom of them all. This project is a collaboration with @updateing and a continuation of his 7.0 builds.
Our goal is to provide the most solid taste of Nougat we can possibly give you. We may run into problems that we will not be able to fix because this is AOSP with necessary changes to build/boot the rom.

Notes on the sources:
local manifest
- Some fixes are really "dirty" (as I'm not able to find a proper way)...
- Some JNIs fail to build (lots of C++ symbols no found). You may try linking C++ libs dynamically (c++_static -> c++_shared) to avoid this. See 20160828 patches, packages/inputmethods/LatinIME for example.
- Some apps require android-8 ndk, but the earliest version in the tree is android-9. A symlink will do (or you can change the Android.mk in app) but I'm not really sure this will not introduce any bug.
- Android N split mediaserver into multiple processes to improve security, such as cameraserver, mediacodec, etc. But camera blobs and old HALs were not designed like this. They assume they run in the same process, thus a buffer created by blobs are being used everywhere, which will cause illegal memory access under Android N. I reverted lots of patches about this, forcing camera and codec services to run in the mediaserver process as before - security compromised with functionality, again.

Does flashing root save the recovery? Thanks for this build for our old bacon.
Everybody just delete recovery from boot in system after flashing and before booting up if you're recovery is wiped.

Next build should have camera fixed. Current build is missing a commit that I missed when pushing the changes to GitHub.

If camera is fixed, then video recording should be fixed as well :good:

Well here it is back again. Id like someone to help though as this is my 1st rom and I cant seem to get wifi working at the moment.

Im also getting "xport_reg failed for service_id=0x35 version0x1001 on 19" constantly in the logcat.
Turns out the Wifi problem is related to a issue in the kitchen setup. Fixing and testing now.
Thanks for your work. Any uniqe things compared to Weta ROM which is also focused on audio experience.
Hey mate. Rly appreciate your hard work. Flashed your rom, but cant get throug the setup google assistant. It keeps crashing. Tried it also without mobile data connection. Seems like i cant get it to work.

What model are you trying to flash it to ? and what exactly is crashing/happening ?
H930. After flasing i reboot and it seems like the google setup assistant is crashing constantly. Im able to restart the assistant, but it will crash in like 3 seconds again. If iam fast, i can get to the last setup screen, but than ilk get an blackscreen and nothing will happen. Tried it 5 times. No way to get over the assistant.

I need my phone working today but I'll back up tonight and test this tomorrow and report back.

thanks for contributing a custom rom!!!! I would like to try it out, are there any prerequisites? I flashed custom roms a while ago on xperia devices but never done it with lg phones....

I Don't know what is causing that. Try a clean v0.05 install and let me know.

Sorry but i thought this was a open forum of information sharing. You release something on here and its under the GPL . I'll be deleting my rom then cause whats the point if you can share? Im sorry i thanked you for your work. Think im done on here. Ill ask a mod to delete this thread.
I was pleasently surprised to see this topic until your last post. Can you just remove Sauron and add V4A? The options in V4A for different headphoneprofiles do the most enhancement and that is not included in Sauron as far as I know. They can work together so of anyone wants to use it they can download it seperately.
To bad they don't want the free help for spreading their work by limiting it. What if Linus forbit combining software and u had to install Linux by installing hundreds of packages seperately after downloading from hundreds of places before booting the OS...

Its funny cause they magisk and didnt ask permission (but of course thats fine cause its magisk /s) The trouble i have with all these DSP's is they dont use the DAC where as this one did . I wondered if I should let magisk developers know that a module on their repo is apparently closed off to open use.
Anyway this is all trivial since someone from their party was sending me not so nice messages outside this site so XDA cant do anything about it .
I dont want to put myself at risk for the sake of some work . I'll keep myself to myself for now
