Hey,
I have found this video on YT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrJM5OVpmMI .
He wrote: "Cpu is not overclocked. I have rooted phone."
And I'm confused ;\ why this guy a way better fps in this games? Shadowgun Dead Zone in UNPLAYABLE on my htc one v. In Trial Extreme 3 I have about 33% less FPS :\
btw. I have cleared cache\ram. I have 150mb of free ram.
I have found a work around method so I'll write it down, maybe it will be useful for someone:
I dunno why this guy has so good fps on a 'standard' device but I have found a good way to increase fps in games:
If you have CyanogenMod go to settings and at the bottom you will have 'performance' option; inside you can find 'processor', inside maximum something. - go there and change 1024MHz to 1400MHz. Also change 2nd option from ondemand to SMARTASSV2. That will gives you better performance when processor will need it, like in games. In fact it gives about 30% more fps without any serious consequences. (No, no serious battery draining or crashing or anything).
Hi all, i want to know if there is any way to consume less battery when playing games like "Clash of Clans" on our device. I've tried "per app mode" but the results are not the best.
Anyone got some advices?

Try to not have too much brightness and you can also change the cpu governor to interactive

You can also try 'airplane mode,' you will of course not get any notifications but you will also have less apps waking up in the background. The ondemand governor will give you better performance but the interactive does have the potential to use less battery.

What kernel and what per app mode settings are you using? Clash of Clans works with 594MHz CPU and 320MHz GPU.
I'm using elemetalx kernel. Now i use intellidemand, 1ghz CPU and stock gpu, no per app mode apk.
The homescreen is quite noticeably not a smooth 60fps, it stutters and with the overlay enabled in developer settings, can see the framerate drops alot. Especially in freestyle layout mode. Also a lot of games stutter and don't run at a smooth framerate - for example monument valley. Does anyone else get this? Im on stock rom latest update

This is completely dependent on your OS, applications, widgets on screen, running apps, cpu state and the speed you're using your device.. If its really congested and you're running a tonne of apps then you'll perhaps have some slow downs, if you're using a custom kernel and you've lowered the up cpu threshold then that will too have an impact, honestly I'd leave it on stock and minimise the amount of widgets (especially lives ones) you have on your desktops, anything with transparency will have an impact too.
Gaming wise, I have to say this phone is rock solid.
The only game that it couldn't run is dolphin which is a gamecube emulator, running zelda the windwaker.
But I think that's down to optimization rather that anything else.
What set up do you have? Custom rom? Stock? Kernel? Lots or not a lot of apps?
my runs smooth on games, emulators, home screens, videos, taking and recording pictures and video, everything. ive been very happy with its performance, completely stock and running custom roms on my Verizon Variant, viper is my favorite now after last few updates.
I'm also satisfied with my HTC 10 performance, runs smooth (everything stock), but I notice that some games are a bit laggy (like Realracing 3, even if I lower the resolution to FullHD in the Boost+ app).
I wonder if I would get better framerates with the CleanSlate kernel that has Adrenoboost feature, but I'm not to keen on rooting my device because then you can't install OTA updates anymore.
Im running on the stock rom straight from the box, no custom rom or everything
, every game I have tried so far runs awful, massive framerate drops with or without boost. I have compared my framerate in asphalt 8 to this video, with an fps counter, and I get much worse framerates, usually around low 20s, dropping to teens. I don't have powersaving enabled

Anything in HTC's ROM seems to cripple Adrenoboost of the GPU. While on other devices it works perfectly and is reaching up to 60 fps, it doesn't on the HTC 10. It doesn't bother me, as I'm not a heavy gamer, but if you're in need to change it, you could use a custom kernel, as e.g. CleanSlate by @tbalden.

I hope HTC fixes that with some OTA.
Anyway, would the High performance mode in the developer options help the framerate?

As I'm on Viper10, Stock, pnp thermal tweak, or Viper 10 and CleanSlate Kernel. So I can't tell if it would work. The CleanSlate kernel fixes the problem quite well, so I'll use it until HTC maybe fixed the issue as long as I'm gaming and the other config I'll use as my daily driver.

Can anyone that has no custom rom test the framerate on the first map of asphalt 8 and report back?

Do u use sd card
If yes which class, coz i noticed that it can slow the device
I hope htc support team improve the performance and fix the lag issues by updates.
This is an awful bug .May htc solve this in the android 7 update .
Slow SD card like someone else said.
Try it without one.
Maybe your hardware is faulty in some way.
Also try to set all clocks to a constant maximum. So you see if you have the power or not.
Maybe a fake device?
I'm using Z008 with Resurrection Remix M and OctoDex (OC) kernel. My CPU governor is smartassv2 and max freq is set to about 1330MHz. Can I improve my battery life and doesn't effect much to performance (enough to play small games like FNaF, Flappy Bird, 2048,....) and run Facebook, Facebook Messenger (battery hoggerrrrssss). Because I spend most of my time outside and I can't bring the backup power bank all the time. I just need it to survive about 12hrs with web browsing and Facebook-ing, play small games (not continuosly, I just use it 15 min). ( Or suggest me a new ROM with better SoT). Currently it drain battery not so crazy.
Thanks in advance.
OnePlus capping game fps to 55, reducing cpu and gpu clockspeed to the lowest possible whenever battery temps are close to 40°c or above. So users who have a habit of playing games at 90-120fps can face this problem. For now the only solution is to uninstall system battery app, root device and use some kernel manager app. Here i have attached few screenshots with an app call Scene 6 to show how badly it drops. So the only hope OnePlus users have is to have a custom rom where we can get rid of these issues
apex , call of duty , and co are not games that need mega fat clocks to run at 60fps (most games that run at 120fps can only be played at 120fps with low graphics settings anyway) you better use scene app check it out whether the scene app with fas is not your problem. or if your environment is too warm
And ps
This is not normal cod mobil he play it with modding like fps unkock for playing it with 120fps on max Graphics setting plus scene in performance profile plus vivo thermal disabler
