No notification bar unless you swipe down - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hi!
Recently I've installed LineageOS 13 for Samsung S4 LTE (I9505). Everything works like a charm, the phone gained a second life, but...
if I'm on the home screen the notification bar/panel (with all the icons, like GSM signal, battery, clock etc.) is not visible unless you swipe your finder down from the top of the screen. Then it's visible for few seconds and it disappears again and I have to repeat the process every time.
Does somebody have a solution for this? I looked the Settings menu all over but didn't find any option that would control it.
Thank you for your time

Notification screen customizing

I have Samberg Touch X 10.1 ROM, and when i click on the top bar, notification screen pops up. I saw on other roms, that it showed how many % i have left of my battery.
Is it possible to ad it to the notifications screen? And is it possible to add shortcuts, like disconnect 3G, and turn Wlan on/off?
Hope you can help me.
Gr, Antony.
Is there nothing?
About the percentage battery left maybe you could install the driver that makes it possible, search "1% battery increment" or something like that.
About the shortcuts I think not.
You could maybe ask the same question on the thread for that ROM.

top of screen unresponsive, but still detects touch

The top of the screen where the notification bar is is unresponsive...sort of. It registers touch like normal, except it thinks I am touching the screen about half a centimeter below where I am actually touching it. This is only present in the status bar area. Also, it is probably not a software issue as I have wiped the phone and installed other roms and kernels since the problem came up. Also, what's strange is that every now and then, it will just start working like normal again, and then stop after a while.
As a work around, you can use a custom launcher (adw, go, apex) which has homescreen swipe gestures and use something like "swipe down" to access the notification bar. If you notice this issue impedes your everyday use, swipe gestures are probably your best solution.

Good Lock secure folder quick settings icon does nothing?

I installed Good Lock from the Galaxy apps store and it's working great of course except tapping on the secure folder icon (screenshot attached) does nothing. Tap+hold does nothing either. Is this just me or for anyone else?
I've been wondering the same thing ever since Good Lock spontaneously installed itself on my phone this week. The first time the secure-folder quick-settings icon is tapped following a reboot, the icon shows a brief animated response, but nothing else happens. Subsequent taps don't even produce the animation.

Oreo Status Bar Notifications

I have the Note 8 on Verizon. Last week I received a software update to Oreo. Shows on phone as N950USQU3CRC2.
Excuse my terminology if I call something the wrong thing. I will attempt to be as detailed as possible.
I have several apps that put information into the status bar. This is what I call the bar at the top of the phone with the time and battery indicator, etc. I do not have a screen stand by, or lock or anything else. I push the button on the right to cut the screen on and off. All power saving features that I am aware of have been disabled.
Since the software update, some of information that used to stay permanently (persistent notification?) in the status bar would seem to be missing. When I pull down on the status bar to see all the notifications, I see the missing information, but now it seems to be minimized (compacted?). It has down arrows that I have to press to expand the information, then I actually have to open the app to get the information to go back to the status bar. After a short time the notifications disappear from the status bar again and I have to slide it down, expand with the arrow, open the app, etc. over and over.
It is very frustrating to have to do this all day long. Am I missing something? Is there a way to turn this minimization (compacting?) off so that all status bar info shows in the status bar all the time?
Hi I had this problem with one of my apps on Oreo. Go to Settings...Display....Status Bar. Make sure where it says show only 3 recent notifications is turned off. That should should hopefully help
Lrivera76, thanks for your reply. I checked where you referenced and it is turned off already. Interestingly enough, since about noon today, the three notifications I have been fighting with for the past few days have been staying on the status bar. The others that I do not care so much about are still staying minimized or compacted and I have to slide the notifications down to see them, but I do not really care if I see them or not. I began to wonder if the OS had some way of learning that I wanted these 3 left at the top because I kept reopening them over and over? I don't know. I wish there was an obvious way to just turn the minimizing thing off. We can already turn off a notification if we do not want it. What would be the purpose of leaving it on, but not see it. I don't get it.

Click to collapse
I use the Navbar app and now with Oreo it stays on my pull-down menu as well. That didn't happen on Nouget. If you haven't tried, clear your cache partition and restart your phone. I was at the point where I was going to do a factory reset due to my battery not lasting the way it did but basically checking all my settings, notifications, displays, etc turning off things that where on when they weren't before saved me from having to do it. Give it a couple of days for the OS to settle if not you can do a factory reset to see if it gets rid of any issues.

Strange notification icon that disappears after unlocking phone?

When i unlock my phone i notice this notification icon that looks like a tornado/triangle in the upper left corner, it disappears quickly before i can even take a screen shot of it. If i wouldn't of sold my s8 i could of taken a slow mo video of it heh. Any idea what it could be?
Here's the little guy.
Weather app?
Maybe it does a quick update each time you unlock
Disabled the samsung weather app and its still there, never had this icon appear on my s8.
Hmm it almost looks like the lightflow icon, wonder why it behaves like this.
You'll probably have to go through your notifications turning them off one by one until it disappears.
looks like light flow logo to me, do you use this app ?
