Is there any way to mirror my phone notifications on my Android headunit (PX5) without using Wifi, just using a bluetooth connection?
Bump this with a request for just the SMS. I want to see text messages on my screen.

My car radio can download an sms after it gets notification via bluetooth of a new message. Is there anyway to send a message recieved notification via bluetooth on the touch HD? Any hacks or add on software that can do this?
Anyone have any suggestions?

I've been looking into this too. A lot of Sony Ericsson phones support it, as do some Motorolas. It would probably have to be included into the Bluetooth stack though, so I'm not sure if you'll be able to find anything.
so i got a new radio for my car and it has the ability to display the text messages via bluetooth but my tilt 2 isnt capable of displaying text messages via bluetooth. has anyone got a fix for this other then getting a new phone. like software?

Hello,
Wondering if anyone can help shed some light on this issue. I connect my ATT Note 2 via Bluetooth to the handsfree system in my car (2013 Dodge which uses UConnect system). I've seen people having issues getting this setup to work, but mine worked very well right from the get go. Phone control, bluetooth music streaming and SMS all worked well with voice control.
However, just this week, it appears I got an update "pushed" to the phone for ATT's message app. I didn't like the fact that it was pushed onto the phone, caused far too many notifications of incoming texts and was causing duplicate messages with the stock message app. So, I uninstalled the update and disabled the app. This appeared to get me back to the stock messaging app as everything was before. Except for one strange side-effect. Now, when I'm connected to my hands free system in the car via bluetooth and get an incoming text, the system cannot announce the name of the sender anymore. It was working fine. Now the system just says "No Number Available". The frustrating thing is it was working well and then developed this issue with the only thing I know changing was the ATT message app debacle in the middle.
Does anyone have a clue as to why the handsfree system cannot resolve the incoming sender name anymore and announce it as it did before? The handsfree system has access to contacts and the people sender texts are in my contact list. I can actually send texts fine hands free.
I've tried phone re-boots, re-pairing and few others things. Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
Can I ask what Rom you are using? I also have 2012 Chrysler that has U connect. I have never been able to get it to do the SMS.

The 3g connection you have is only for data, so you won't have all the same option as a cellphone. SMS is not sent over a data connection. MMS is sent over a data connection. I don't have a 3g double, I use my mobile hotspot for my HD, do you have a phone# assign to you radio of not that is your problem more than likely.

I previously own another android headunit and using the same dongle i can receive sms through my stock sms app on the headunit. Yes there is a phone number assigned to the sim.
Both S4 phone and N7 are rooted running CM 14.1
In-car N7 connects to S4 phone via hotspot.
Most speak commands are done from N7 using Google Assistant module thru Apex launcher.
The only way Im able to send a text msg from N7 is using Carrier Email to SMS Gateway method.
Its rudimentary, because you have to know the person's carrier and then setup in contacts.
Is there another method to send a text message via wifi to the S4 phone, that will send the text via SMS ?
either using Tasker or other ?
Phone calls and receiving text is done via BT BlueAnt and S4. But cant send voice to text.
